Traveler's Journal: December Daily {Bring on the Jingle}

I've been busy as a little bee working on this month's Traveler's Journal project and I couldn't be more excited! This is one of those projects that I might see somewhere and just *wish* that I was ambitious enough to tackle it! Well, my friends, mission accomplished and it wasn't as daunting as I thought it could be! I am amazed at how quickly this December Daily album came together; so quickly that I had some extra time and ambition to create an additional project! The Traveler's Journal: Passport Cover Die and coordinating Passport page blanks were the perfect products to create a quick notebook for me to make lists and notes for the upcoming holiday season! Don't forget to head to the Papertrey Ink Blog to see what the rest of Traveler's Journal team has come up with!

I chose to use 3 neutrals and 2 colors to keep this project simple and cohesive! I was able to use the Traveler's Journal: December and the Traveler's Journal: December Typed Notes stamp sets on EVERYTHING for quick and easy layouts and assembly!

I kept the cover simple using many of the elements that are found through out the album. I actually made the cover last, so that I could ensure that it would set the tone that is seen throughout the book. I kept it simple and to the point. I used the Traveler's Journal: December Dies as well as many of the Tag Sale dies to create all of the layouts!

On the back cover, I sewed a vellum envelope to the inside to hold some additional die cuts and stamped pieces to help accent the pages as I begin to add the photos! Consider it a little "kit" of sorts, to really  make the photos come to life and to achieve balance as the photos get added to the album!

As I mentioned earlier, by the keeping the color scheme simple, it really is easy to mass produce many of the little elements and you KNOW that they are all going to work together!

This is the best way that I could think of to show you every single layout. While it does cut off some of the edges, it really gives you a sense of the layouts and the details that I added to the album.

I mixed die cuts and direct to paper stamping to keep things flowing and interesting!

I actually began the album with day 16. Random, right? But, there was a method to my madness. I realized that I would come into a rhythm and feel of how things would come together, so I chose to start there! LOL! In the beginning, I was making a two page layout for EACH day...ummmmmm...I realized that was going to make the album GINORMOUS so I stopped that about 7 layouts in! I really wanted to add a lot of layers and dimension, so I knew I had to start making them one page each.

Of course Christmas day just HAD to have a two page spread! LOL! I was dying to bedazzle the number 25 with all of the rhinestones! My mom made a felt Christmas advent calendar that we always used growing up and now my kids use it, but it had sequins all over the number 25 so that is what I had in mind! I am positively giddy about this album and I am so excited for Christmas to come! Between all of my cards and projects I have done this year for my Keeping Christmas series, I am definitely ready for a very Merry Christmas! Thanks for fluttering by!

Love it - I'll be traveling this year so your project is the perfect inspiration i need. Can i ask what your pages are made of please, seeing as youre not using inserts? It seems to give you all the more freedom to decorate without using the inserts, but your pages seem pretty sturdy :)
