Ink to Paper November Release Countdown Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the November Ink to Paper release countdown! We're switching gears a bit from holiday/seasonal crafting to show you some great basics for your "thinking of you/get well/sympathy" collection! I've been in such a "holiday" frame of mind lately, so it was nice to change things up for some year-round inspiration!

That being said, I am in need of these cards RIGHT NOW, as I just found out that three people in my neighborhood have just tested positive for COVID-19, so these will be heading out today! This first card uses the new Inside Greetings: Feel Better stamp set and I paired it with the fabulous Into the Blooms dies

Most of my cards lately have been very stamping intensive, so it was nice to use these gorgeous die cuts for this "thinking of you" card. I had pinned a beautiful painting of some coneflowers a while back and it is the inspiration for this card. You can see it HERE. I just love it and as you can see I pretty much just CASEd it and turned it into a card! LOL!

The background is dry embossed with the new Cover Plate: Ornate die and then I added some ink here and there using the painting as my guide for placement. I die cut the flowers, stems, and leaves and added the ink to those as well. I added a border around the embossed panel using the Border Bling: Skinny Stitched Frames and adhered it with strips of foam adhesive.

The sentiment is stamped onto one of the Tagged and Labeled dies and I looped the True Black Baker's Twine through the hole on the left like I would a tag and then took it behind the card front and then secured it through the other hole with a bow. I also put foam squares on the back to secure it to the card front.

I added some black paint splatter, making sure to cover up the sentiment. I wanted to add extra ink splatter to the centers of the coneflowers, but my marker was too dry! Boo!

The entire card front is added to a top folding A2 cardbase cut from Bright Buttercup cardstock. I think this is such a cheery color combo and is sure to brighten someone's day!

My second card for today uses the newest bird in the Feathered Friends collection! I just love this cutie and these are always so fun to ink up in all sorts of different color combinations. I stuck with the colors from the stamping guide, but I can't wait to turn this into a Cardinal if I can!

The flowers, bow, and sentiment are from the new "Brighter Days" stamp set. This is such a great set because it has a ton of different sentiment options and these flowers and leaves are so fun to use. The actual bloom is separate from the leaves so you could omit them for a more simplistic design or something more masculine.

I heat embossed the Cover Plate: Ornate once again for this card, as well as adding the Border Bling: Skinny Stitched Frame like I did on the previous card.

I used the beautiful Love To Layer: Scalloped Circles die as the base for my bird and greenery. This particular sentiment has a coordinating die, which I love because I can add them virtually anywhere!

I added some black paint splatter sparingly to this card as well for just a hint of extra detail. I did cover up the bird and sentiment with a Post-It Note to avoid any splatter there.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you've enjoyed today's countdown! Join me again tomorrow for day 3! Thanks for fluttering by!

Beautiful designs Kelly and your thoughtfulness is always an inspiration. Please be careful with these diagnoses in your neighborhood. My son is a high school teacher who has had students test positive... very nerve wracking! Guess we must just keep the faith.

I’m so sorry to hear about your neighbors, I hope they heal soon. Our family has been touched by COVID recently ( our niece and her husband) and we’re very thankful they’re both on the mend. Kelly, you did a beautiful job with your cornflowers, the colors are so bright and pretty. I found myself looking at your card, again and again. I’m so in love with your work and I know your neighbors are too! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’–

Hi Kelly! I really love your cards, especially the orange, melon, pink one with the Into the Blooms set. Could you please tell me what you used to add the textured frost look on the flowers? Thank you
