Taylored Expressions Blender Brush Blog Hop

I'm super thrilled to be here today for a fun blog hop for the Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes! The 2019 Holiday Gift Guide is out and is starting today, a few of us are sharing projects made with the amazing Blender Brushes! My ink blending has gone above and beyond ever since I started using these brushes! Now I try and find excuses to do ink blending! My favorite part is that there is a brush for each color, which makes it SOOOO nice! I spent so much time attaching foam circles to the bottom of my Distress Oxide ink pads and now, they NEVER get touched! LOL! I'm a Blender Brush gal for life! Head to the other designers' blogs to see how they've used the blender brushes!
Kelly Lunceford (you are here)

I created two nearly identical cards for today's hop using another one of my favorite TE products; Masking Stencils! The Blender Brushes and these new stencils are a match made in heaven, I tell ya!

To begin, I cut two panels of white cardstock measuring 4 by 5 1/4 inches. I used the larger of the two  Masking Stencils-Rectangles to create the blended portion. I like to use Pixie Spray  to adhere the stencils to the cardstock for a nice, tight seal so that no ink will get underneath the stencil.  I used Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Faded jeans Distress Oxide Ink to blend the colors onto the panels using the Blender Brushes. Once that was done, I added some Shimmer Spray and white paint flecks to create the starry night sky! I gently removed the stencils and set the panels aside to dry while I got to work on the other elements that I used on these two cards!

I used the Follow the Star and Let us Adore Him die cuts to create the focal pieces for these two cards. I couldn't decide if I liked the simplicity of the one on the left or the addition of the city scape on the other card.

I used foam squares behind each layer to really give it some nice dimension. I used specialty glitter cardstock for the star.

I don't normally omit a sentiment from my cards, but in this case, they don't actually need it! However, that being said, I just ordered the Simple Strips-Christmas sentiment set and it is due to arrive TODAY! Yay! I will most likely add one of those perfectly fitting sentiments to each of these cards! I hope you've enjoyed today's hop! Thanks for fluttering by!

Hi Kelly! Your card is beautiful! I’m still getting used to my blender brushes, although they make quick work for backgrounds. I tried to do the blog hop from the TE home page but clicking on the faces there, doesn’t work. So glad you posted the names in your post. Btw, did you see the Dritz Plastic Template that Chris Dayton used? I’m SUPER interested! Have a great day!

I LOVE this scene. The white and kraft together is perfect because it looks so natural.
