Card Tin

I decided to make a card tin and coordinating cards for my MIL for one of her Birthday gifts. She has 6 boys, so her life has been pretty much baseball, football, wrestling, etc. I have always tried to do *girly* things for her and this year is no exception. I chose a coordinating line of pattern paper by Treehouse Memories; this collection is Library. I used the same collection for the cards as well. I decided to upload my favorite card from the collection. This card features a lot of styled silver hodgepodge hardware and could easily be adapted to use SU! designer series paper. I have dropped my entire container of styled silver hodgepodge hardware TWICE!!! You think I would learn!!! So....since picking up every piece TWICE...I realized that I am hoarding it and there is A LOT of each piece. I have loved using it. Maybe next time I spill it there won't be as much to pick up! LOL! Thanks for fluttering by!

P.S. Starting tomorrow if time permits, I will be starting a new *series* on my blog. Stay tuned to find out more!!!!

Birthday Wishes!!!

I have been excitedly working on some projects for the new release from The Saltbox Studio. The new stamps are adorable and I can't wait to share some new things with you...but in the mean time I decided to stamp my MIL her Birthday card. I bought her some cute spring P.J.s and thought I would make a card to match. I can't believe that I thought I could pass on this set. It is fast becoming a new favorite. I used some of the new chunky glitter from the Occassions mini from SU! in the center of the flowers. I used my swiss dot cuttlebug embossing folder for the back layer. I can't seem to get enough of it. I am anxiously awaiting the LSS to call me to tell me my others are off backorder! LOL! Anyway, I hope she likes it. I am also making her a tin full of cards, so I will share that with you soon! Thanks for fluttering by!
ETA: I decided to make another card using the same supplies that I had laying out, just different a different combo!

Cards and Cupcakes

Happy Easter! I hope you all have a beautiful day! We are celebrating my Step-Dad's Birthday today as well as Easter, so I thought I would share the Birthday card that I made for him. We are giving him Utah Jazz tickets for his gift so I thought a coordinating card would be perfect! I tried using the Jazz colors, but I am sure they are all wrong. LOL! I used the retired Sporting Goods stamp set from SU! that I love and will never part with. It is a definite must have with boys! I paired it with a current set called Sporting. I love the images in that set and I am sure that is one that I will never part with as well.

Yesterday my 4 year old daughter and I made some Easter cupcakes to pass out to neighbors. We added some sprinkles and jelly bunnies for the top. It is always fun doing projects like that with my kids. Those are the things they will remember. Also, the Easter Bunny brought my daughter a Disney Princess scooter, so it has been fun seeing her rolling around the living room on it! She is so cute!

Anyway...enough rambling! Have a great day and thanks for fluttering by!

Shoebox Swap

Wow! It is amazing how fast this week has flown by. I just realized that I haven't posted anything since Sunday. I have been stamping, just not posting! LOL! I made this project for my SU! meeting that I attended last Saturday. It was a shoebox swap, which I love. We always have such a good time! I would have posted this earlier, but my sample got smudged and I just took some time out today to fix it. I got this idea for the envelope basket from SCS, but I think they showed it at SU! regionals. I could be wrong. I absolutely love this set "Blooming with Love" as you can see from my banner. I also love the fall flowers designer series paper that I have paired it with. I used my crop-a-dile to add some of the embossed circles on the handle and at the bottom. I used my stamp pads and blender pens to color the image. I just bought new blender pens and can I just say how fabulous a new blender pen is to work with? I need to replace mine more often. Juicy and clean!!!! LOL! Anyway...I wish you all a Happy Easter and Springtime wishes! Thanks for fluttering by!

Stamps: Blooming with Love

Paper: Fall Flowers DS paper, Soft Sky, Old Olive, Whisper White

Ink: Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, Old Olive

Accessories: Kraft Envelope, Artichoke grosgrain ribbon, crop-a-dile, blender pen, dimensionals, large and small tag punch

Simple Pleasures

It is the Featured Stampers Challenge over at SCS today so I thought I would play along. I don't normally participate in this challenge because Sunday's are hectic, but I decided I wanted to today. I chose to use one of the great baskets from " A Basket Celebration" by The Saltbox Studio. The sentiment is from the fences set by The Saltbox Studio. I also used one of my new embossing folders for my cuttlebug. I love those Dots! I distressed the edges of the focal image with antique linen distress ink from Ranger. I colored the image with copics and prismacolors. The photo really faded out the colors on the basket. It is much more vibrant in real life. I had fun with this challenge! Thanks for fluttering by!

Hi There!!!

When I headed over to SCS today to check out the sketch challenge, I knew immediately that I would be using the set "Wanted" by SU! I absolutely love layering the scallop image and I knew that it would work perfectly for today's sketch. I recently purchased the Paisley embossing folder for my Cuttlebug, but haven't used it yet, so today was the perfect excuse. I sponged all of the edges with chocolate chip ink. I also used my syled silver hodgepodge hardware which I think works very well with this set. I really hope it is in the next catalog. I had fun making this card! Thanks for fluttering by! Check back this week for some fun new spring creations using my Saltbox Studio images. I have an idea milling in my brain that I can't wait to "put to paper"!

Today's Inspiration Challenge

Hello! I have a funny story to tell you! I woke up this morning in a straightening, cleaning, tidying frenzy. It is just my morning routine. Well...this morning my husband just couldn't take it any longer and *banished* me to my stamping desk! Isn't that funny? He said," Kelly...stop....can't you go down and make cards or something?" So...I went to Splitcoaststampers to check out the Inspiration Challenge for today. This is what I came up with. I really like the inspiration challenge because it gets my creative juices flowing and I usually come up with something I might normally never have made. Today is a good example. I love green, but I don't think I would have ever used this set with so much green. I really like how it turned out! Thanks for fluttering by!

Live Simply

I absolutely love that saying! I need to implement it more into my life. Sometimes things get so complicated and it is nice to take a step back and simplify. I decided to start by creating a *simple* card using two of my favorite stamp sets from The Saltbox Studio; "Candle Glow" and "Deck the House companion". I chose one of my favorite Amuse notecard patterns and went from there. Green is one of my favorite colors, so I use it often in my designs. I colored the image using an assortment of copic and prismacolor markers. I decided to add a little interest by using my color spritzer on the focal image. When I get in the mood to use that thing I don't seem to put it down! LOL! Oh, and by the way, I have really enjoyed reading all of your comments on what your favorite tools are. I am agreeing wholeheartedly. Keep the comments coming, because I am not drawing a number until Tuesday!

Door Prize AND BLOG CANDY!!!

One of my favorite things is to make the doorprize for my Stamp Club. They will all be coming over tonight for some fun Easter projects. I really wanted to showcase some of the new things in the Occasions Mini Catalog from SU!, so I chose to use the "Tart and Tangy" stamp set and the Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper. I didn't order the rub-ons that coordinate, so I used some from the SAB rub-pn set. I absolutely love these images. They were so fun to ink up! I felt like it was my first time stamping. As I have mentioned before, I always sand the rubber on my bold image stamps with one of the SU! sanding blocks. I did that on these and the images came out so well. The box measures 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 and holds (4) 3 by 3 notecards with coordinating envelopes. I used each one of the images from the "Tart and Tangy" set. On the outside, I used one of the ribbon slides that are available in the new Hodge Podge Hardware assortment called Stylized Silver. Can I just say that I am in love? I had a lot of fun making this set. I hope my ladies like it, although it can only go to one lucky winner!!!
YOU CAN BE A WINNER, TOO! SIMPLY LEAVE A COMMENT ON WHAT YOUR FAVORITE STAMPING TOOL IS AND WHY AND YOU COULD WIN THE SAME PRIZE!!!!!!! I WILL BE DRAWING A NAME NEXT TUESDAY AND THROWING IN A SURPISE AS WELL!!!!!

Something old, something new...

...nothing borrowed or blue! LOL! I am behind on sending out some cards, so I am sitting down today and getting some made. My poor "Heartfelt Thanks" stamp set has been sitting on the shelf neglected for some time. I used to *always* reach for it. I used it at almost every workshop. I guess it was in need of some rest, but I think it has been long enough. I decided to pull some *newer* elements into the design, so that it didn't seem like the same old set doing the same old thing. I decided to use my mustard print pattern paper, moss taffeta ribbon and the large pewter eyelets (which is hard to see from the photo, but it where the ribbon ties in a bow). I like the color combo for a fresh, springy feel. I added some stickles in the center of the flower for sparkle and then I used my color spritzer tool on the flower image using my more mustard marker. I think this set will be seeing more ink in the future...I forgot how much I enjoy using it!

Supplies:

Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks, Everyday Flexible Phrases

Ink: So Saffron, More Mustard, Old Olive, Mellow Moss

Paper: Confetti White, Whisper White, Mellow Moss, More Mustard, So Saffron, More Mustard Print Pattern Designer Series Paper

Accessories: Large Pewter Eyelets, Stickles, Pewter brads, paper piercer and mat pack, crop-a-dile, Moss Taffeta ribbon, color spritzer tool, dimensionals
