Welcome back for day 2 of the Papertrey Ink October release countdown! I hope you enjoyed yesterday's post and all of the beautiful new products that were featured! My first card for today features and amazing basic die set that will be so useful for all of your cards; it is called Hold That Thought and is perfect for all of your sentiments.
My card for today was 100 % inspired by the new holiday stationery collection from Rifle Paper Co.! It is so cute and when I saw it, I thought I could recreate the same look with new products along with some older favorites, as well!
To begin, I foiled an A2 Pure Poppy panel using the new Beautiful Berries Hot Foil Plate with champagne foil. I trimmed it down to measure 4 by 5 1/4 inches and set it aside. Next, I cut the middle size included in the North Pole Mail: Postage Stamp Frame Postcard Die from white cardstock and then trimmed a piece of Enchanted Evening cardstock to fit just inside the pierced detail of the postcard. I added some Enchanted Evening ink around the corner of the panel.
I stamped the Santa Claus sentiment, which is from the North Pole Mail Stamp Set, in gold pigment ink as well as the circle "please deliver" sentiment. I cut the envelopes from white and Pure Poppy cardstock using the Build-a-Stocking Die and glued them together with liquid glue. I added some antique linen ink around the edges of the white envelope and Fresh Snow ink around the edges of the Pure Poppy envelope. I stamped the North Pole Mail sentiment in Fresh Snow ink and then used the fabulous new Hold That Thought Die to cut it out. Once all of those details were added to the blue panel, I covered the Santa Claus sentiment with a Post-It Note and then added white acrylic paint.
I layered the blue panel onto the postcard using foam squares and then layered that onto the background.
I'm still completely smitten with the new Nutcracker Magic Stamp Set and thought the greenery images would be perfect to accent this card. I stamped them in vintage photo distress ink and then colored them with alcohol markers.
I added some Ranger Glossy Accents to the berries on the swag image and then added some white gel pen details once they were dry. I had so much fun creating this card!
My second card for today features the amazing new Serene Evergreen Die. I also paired it with the new Silent Night Hot Foil Plate and Frame It: Rectangles die that was featured yesterday and the Hold That Thought Die that's being introduced today. I also used some older favorites to bring this traditional red and green Christmas card to life!
For the background I used the new Silent Night Hot Foil Plate on a 4 by 5 1/4 inch panel of Pure Poppy cardstock using Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil: Red. This particular plate requires the highest heat setting and about 30 seconds to heat. I added it to an A2 Pure Poppy panel using foam squares. I also added the rectangle that was cut using the In Frames: Rectangles Die with just a touch of Scarlet Jewel ink around the 4 corners.
Next comes the tree; I die cut the detail portion three times from white cardstock and the base once from white as well. I glued the three detail pieces together and then inked it up using Green Parakeet, New Leaf, and Pinefeather ink for depth and interest. The base piece was inked only with Green Parakeet ink. I glued everything together and then added Pinefeather ink splatter as well as some white acrylic paint splatter. I set it aside to dry and got to work on the additional details.
The sentiment, which is from the beautiful Just Sentiments: Heaven and Nature Sing mini stamp set , is heat embossed in gold onto a piece of Pure Poppy ink and then die cut using one of the fabulous dies included in the new Hold That Thought Die set. I'm particularly enamored with this one and know I will be using it often!
I had the flower left over from THIS project and it's just been begging to be used. I added it just so to allow it to frame the sentiment. I also cut some additional foliage using the Into the Blooms: Anemones Die and used the same inks as the tree. If you want to read more about the berries and other details, you can read about them in the post I linked above.
I tucked the greenery here and there until I was satisfied with the arrangement and just about called it good! I decided to quickly play around with some snowflakes, and I'm so glad I did!
I cut them from white cardstock using the Bring Home the Holidays Die; this particular set has been getting a workout lately! I also added some PTI Gems: Clear to the center of each snowflake as well as the center of the anemone. I just love taking the extra time to add these small, special details!
The entire card front is added to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue. I have not taken the time to add inside sentiments to most of my holiday cards; I think I will need to remedy that soon and just sit down and work on adding a sentiment to all of my finished cards! It's always nice opening up a card when it's time to send it and already having that step taken care of!
Well, this concludes today's post! Join me again tomorrow for day 3 because I will have quite a bit to share! Thanks for fluttering by!

Beautiful Christmas cards. Love them both but the second one with the white Anemone on the red is my favorite. Love everything about it.
