Project Inspiration {Merry Christmas From Our Home to Yours}

Hello and welcome! It's my turn for the Project Inspiration feature for Papertrey Ink! I chose to create another Christmas card and I'll share step-by-step photos and tips along the way!

Step 1: Use the Show Your Stripes Stencil Collection around the edges of an A2 white card base using Scarlet Jewel ink. Cut it out using the North Pole Mail: Candy Cane Frame Post Card Die and attach panel to an A2 top-folding white card base. I used Pixie Spray on the back of this stencil because it helps it adhere to the cardstock better so you get crisp lines. Sometimes it can leave a little bit of residue behind so I simply run an Adhesive Eraser over the top to take care of any tacky residue.

Step 2: Cut an A2 panel of Ocean Tides cardstock and then use the Winter Foliage Stencil Collection. I chose to use Pinefeather and Simply Chartreuse ink for the pine needles, Scarlet Jewel for the berries, Vintage Photo distress ink for the branches and flower centers, Ocean Tides for the other foliage, and Fresh Snow for the white portions. I used a white gel pen to add white accents to the berries. I trimmed the panel down to fit within the embossed portions of the candy cane frame.

Step 3: Using the largest die included in the Love to Layer: Alluring Brackets Die Collection, cut a piece of vellum and adhere it using foam squares. Keep the arrangement near the center for the next step. I didn't mean to make this look like a face! ha ha!

Step 4: Create the postage stamp collage by first die cutting the outer portion using the North Pole Mail: Postage Stamp Frame Post Card. I chose the smallest die and cut it from white cardstock. I also cut the snow drifts, trees, stars, and house from white using the Bring Home the Holidays Die. I trimmed a panel of white cardstock to fit nicely inside the embossed dot detail on the postage stamp. I added some Aqua Mist and Ocean Tides ink to the top and then added the snowdrifts using foam squares. The trees are colored with Pale Peony ink. I added the remaining pieces and then gave it a snowy look by adding some white acrylic paint splatter. I also added a few red pearls for whimsy.

Step 5: Die cut the holly using the Into the Blooms: Holly Die from white cardstock. I colored the leaves using Ocean Tides and Pinefeather ink. The berries are colored with Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel ink. I used a brown marker to color the little brown details. I spritzed everything with Fossilized Amber Distress Spray and shimmer spray. I tucked the leaves and berries here and there using foam squares.

Step 6: I die cut the sentiment from Ocean Tides cardstock and then stamped it using the From Our Home to Yours Stamp set using black ink. I attached it to the bottom using foam squares.

After I got done making this card, I thought how cute it would be to die cut the house from Honey Nut cardstock and then add the colored pearls to make it look like a gingerbread house! I may have to give it a try!

As much as I hate cutting or covering a stenciled panel, I really do love the hint of color and charm to this design!

You could also try adding different colors of pearls to the trees for a multi-colored tree.

I had so much fun creating this card! Thanks for fluttering by!
