It's a busy day on the blog, but I wanted to share my projects for this week's Papertrey Ink/Ink to Paper Flash Sale! I've come up with some beautiful, yet unexpected colors for these holiday designs! I chose the fabulous Peaceful Forest stamp set to showcase this week, which will be part of this week's sale!
Stamps: Peaceful Forest
Dies: Peaceful Forest
Both cards are identical in layout and design, but I just switched up the background colors to create two very different feeling cards!
I chose Lilac Grace cardstock for the background of this card and added some Winter Wisteria snowflakes and ink blending around the edges using a blender brush.
I die cut the large cluster of trees and used my MISTI to stamp both clusters quickly. The ink going from left to right is: Soft Stone, Lilac Grace, Winter Wisteria, Pinefeather, Ocean Tides, Stormy Sea, and then Winter Wisteria again.
Both sentiments are heat embossed in silver onto strips of vellum and wrapped around the panels and secured using clear tape. The stars are die cut from silver glitter cardstock and added to the top of the tree using foam squares.
The green card has a Pinefeather background and the snowflakes are stamped in black. I added Pinefeather ink around the edges, but in hindsight, I probably should have used black here as well.
Before I added the vellum, I added some white paint splatter over the top using a fine paint brush and white acrylic paint. I added a few sequins and then layered them onto Stormy Sea top folding card bases using additional foam squares! I love how these unexpected holiday cards turned out! My Christmas card stash is GROWING! How about you? Have you started your holiday/seasonal crafting yet? Leave me a comment and let me know how it's going! Thanks for fluttering by!

I love your color combo on these pretty cards!
I have a nice stash of Christmas cards built up! I joined a challenge group on FB where we commit hours per month to work on Christmas projects, and I signed up for 4 hours each month. That's kept me going! Started with it in January!
Love these fun, non-traditional colors! One of my fave Christmas sets!
OH Kelly what a beautiful group of cards. Love this set. But I really love the color choices you used to create all these beautiful cards. Thanks for sharing.

Love the unexpected colors Kelly! Great cards!
Your designs and extra gorgeous color palettes are breathtaking! I LOVE them both! Kelly you have magical hands and an amazing imagination, I love looking at everything you create! Happy Tuesday!! ππ
P.S. I meant to comment about my goings- on. Besides the 100 yr old window frames we are refinishing, I’m currently working on some Thank you cards for my brother. He volunteers at a Hospice center and every December takes about a dozen fellow volunteers to a Christmas music concert. Sort of like the Boston Pops & very popular. The concert ticket & card are hand delivered by a minister, so no worries about the mail. Ahhh, relief! It’s been a challenge to make my Christmas musical design in neutral colors, suitable for everyone, but it’s been fun & put me in the Christmas spirit for sure. I’m going to start on this year’s Christmas cards next week, which means making new lists. I bought my 1st Christmas gift last week. I think the Postal systems will be swamped this season! Kelly, even if I wasn’t working on my brother’s project, your beautiful posts always inspire me! I start thinking about new card designs every time I read your blog. Thanks so much for sharing your creative process, personal notes and beautiful photography. I think your blog reflects your generous heart and is a JOY!
Thank you so much! That sounds wonderful!
Thank you! You're so sweet!
