Limited Supplies 1-2-3

You may be wondering where I have been hiding! I have been here, just not *here*! LOL! I did get my desk super clean and made the invites for my son's party! If you want to check out one of the projects I have been working on this week, you can check it out here. I was thrilled to be able to participate in the Verve Project Parade.

I always hate it when I go so long between posts! It is just not like me to be away for so long. I have tons of exciting news to share, but not yet, so I will just leave you with a card I made for today's Limited Supplies Challenge. The rules were as simple as 1-2-3; meaning one color of cardstock, 2 pattern papers and 3 embellishments. I only added 2, but didn't know if my nestabilities die counted as an emellishment, or the piercing I did with the Ornare piercing template. I just played it safe!

This is the last card that will be going in the donation pile, as tonight is the auction! I am headed out to Michael's to pick up a decorative box to house all of the cards, envelopes and stamps. I decided that I would include the extra postage required to send out some of the super thick cards that are in the stash. Most of them should probably be hand delivered anyway, but I thought it was a nice gesture and wouldn't cause the purchaser any stress about getting them mailed. I will quit rambling and get on with the card deets!

I wanted another baby card for the stash and decided on a gender neutral green. I thought this design could work well for a girl or a boy. I first cut out my die using my cuttlebug and Labels 4 Nestablities die that I just got from Ellen . I used the stork image from the wonderful retired "Buggies and Booties" stamp set and stamped it with Palette Noir ink and colored it with an assortment of reinkers and prismacolor markers. I sponged the edges with Antique Linen distess ink.

I chose simple papers from the My Mind's Eye slab that I use quite a bit. I did the piercing at the top using my Ornare piercing template and mat.

This is a very simple design, yet I like how it turned out. Thanks for fluttering by!

Snowflake Splendor

I was so excited to get my new Verve Stamps from Julee this week! I was so fortunate to have won the Mojo Monday contest at the beginning of the month and recieved some Verve Stamps for free.Thank you, Julee! I couldn't stop there, I had to pick up a few more that I was loving! So...let's just say I have quite a few images to play with in the next few weeks! You can check out all of the Verve stamps here: http://shopverve.com/ Julee has some fabulous stamp sets! I played along in today's LSC over at SCS. The challenge was to use black as our card base. I love using black as my base, but I will admit that it has been a while.

I started out using Verve's set called "Snowflake Splendor". I love this set because it has Christmas sentiments, but also some others just relating to snowflakes. It definitely makes the set more versatile. I thought this would be a fun thinking of you card that you could send anytime during the winter months. I also paired it with Muirfield DSP and Ski Slope DSP. I didn't want it to look Christmasy at all, so I just used Baja Breeze, White and Black. I added a bit of bling and of course a little *frosting* of chunky essentials glitter.

On another note...guess what is on it's way to my house as we speak? Yes! My new SU! goodies! I have some visitors coming at 11:00 and that is usually when Mr. Brown makes his appearance, so I will have to wait to tear into it after they leave! LOL! I don't want to scare my guests with my frenzy! LOL! Thanks for fluttering by!

from the heart

Last night I was telling my husband that I was *finally* done with my Thank You cards. He said, "Oh...did you make one for so and so?" I had totally forgotten to make one for them! So...this morning I sat down and made one last thank you. I decided to follow today's LSC over at SCS. I love doing challenges because it gets my mind going and I usually end up by using things that I normally wouldn't! Today's card is a good example of that. Now...I did manage to use "Gentler Times" again, surprise, surprise! This heart is actually the reason I bought the set in the first place. I used to shy away from watercoloring, so the line art images weren't that appealing to me. I know...shocker!

I use that bouquet image all the time now! Anyway, I loved adding the little button to the middle. I chose one that had four holes so I could make an X, kindof like cross my heart! Get it? yes...I am a dork!

I also paired it with some paper from My Mind's Eye from my giant slab. I am sure you will be seeing a lot of that paper. Because hearts and red were the theme for the challenge, I chose "from the heart" sentiment from Holidays and Wishes. I sewed a zig-zag stitch on the side, punched some Martha Stewart Lace edge and added a bit of satin ribbon! The heart is layered on a piece of white cardstock that has been stamped with the En Francais background stamp. I love it and I rarely use it! Of course I had to add some glitter to the edge of the card. I had fun with this one! Thanks for fluttering by!

These are a few of my favorite things...

I was so excited to see that today's Limited Supplies Challenge was to use some of our Favorite Things!!! It comes as no surprise for those of you who visit my blog often that I chose to use "Gentler Times". It seems to make an appearance more than any other set. I also love making Vintage Creations so that is where I wanted to take my design today.

I started out by creating my focal piece by cutting out the Label 2 die from Nestabilities and embossing it with my cuttlebug. I then stamped the floral image with Palette Noir Ink and colored it with re-inkers and a *brand spanking new* blender pen...another one of my favorite things. I sponged the edges of all paper with Vintage Photo distress ink. Of course my design wouldn't be complete without some luscious ribbon, buttons and glitter! I had a lot of fun with this one!

Happy Snowflakes

Today's LSC was to use only snowflakes in our design, sparkles and a one word sentiment. I thought it sounded pretty fun and I am always up for a challenge. I had quite a few supplies that would work for this challenge already out, so I quickly went to work. I decided to thread my button with some silver cord for some added sparkle. I think I will be using that quite a bit from now on.

My house is a serious disaster zone and I want to get it cleaned up before I pick my daughter up from Kindergarten. After that I am headed off to pick up some BLOG CANDY...so check back later today!
