Papertrey Ink September Release Day {Christmas Tree Market}

Hello friends! It's finally the day for the September Papertrey Ink release! All of the products will be available for purchase beginning at 10 PM ET TONIGHT! I was having such a fun time with this release, I just couldn't put it away so I created this bonus card using the AMAZING new Farm Fresh Trees stamp set paired with, you guessed it, Sprigs and Sprays: Holiday! I am obsessed with how easily they are to work with and the beautiful results!
I used the cute new jar dies from the Spook-tacular Halloween Kit to create these snow globes for the trees.

I chose to use the 2 largest jars, but in the end, I really wish I would have just used the largest jar by itself so you could tell that it is a jar with the trees inside! ha ha! I will admit that in-person, you can tell that it is two separate jars a lot better than it appears in the photos.
To begin, I die cut all of the pieces from the Sprigs and Sprays: Holiday  AND all of the trees and containers from the Farm Fresh Trees set. I stamped them quickly using my MISTI and then got to work on the jars.

Originally I planned on using acetate for the jars and I used Cotton White StazOn ink to add some "frosty" edges, but in the end, I felt like it was going to be "over worked" and too fussy, so I settled on the white jars with a touch of grey ink around the edges to make them appear more realistic.

Before I began adding the trees and foliage, I added some faux snow to the jars to give them that snow globe look. It also allowed me to arrange the trees to give them more visual movement, rather than just having them at the bottom of the lid, if that makes sense!

I had originally planned on having the "Christmas Tree Market" sentiment directly on the acetate jar, but when I scrapped that idea, I needed to rethink the sentiment. I decided to heat emboss it in silver onto vellum and wrap it around the focal panel to reinforce the metal of the jar lids and galvanized containers. Of course I couldn't resist adding some white paint splatter to mimic snow and a few of the new sequins without holes that I used on many of my release projects! I also added some glitter to the trees to give them some sparkle and shine! This is such a fun set and I have some trees and foliage left over, so I definitely see more projects made with this fun set! Thanks for fluttering by!

Taylored Expressions Wheatfield Dreams Kit

I'm excited to be here today to help introduce a brand-new BEAUTIFUL new kit from Taylored Expressions called Wheatfield Dreams! It is illustrated by one of my amazing and dear friends, Lori Craig! I'm absolutely smitten with this kit and I've had so much fun creating these two cards using the contents!

  • The Wheatfield Dreams kit includes the following:
Wheatfield Dreams Stamp Set + Coordinating Dies
    Burlap Background
Foil It - Wheatfield (12 panels for heat foiling)
    Mini Embossing Powder - Copper
  • As always, our kit will be packaged in a zippered pouch with an exclusive kit pouch sticker, envelopes, and envelope seals to match.

My first card for today features both the sunflower image and the beautiful wheat clusters paired with the Burlap background.  To begin this card, I stamped the images using black ink and then colored them with an assortment of alcohol markers and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I set them aside and got to work on the background.

I used the ingenious Masking Stencils-Ovals to add the clouds to the inner portion and then used the negative space oval to add the Burlap stamp over the top. I added some heavy ink blending around the edges to give this card a vintage/country feel.

I heat embossed my favorite sentiment from the kit using the included copper embossing powder and wrapped it around the stenciled panel and secured it with tape in the back. Once that was done I was able to add the stamped/colored/die cut images using foam squares.

Of course I HAD to add some glitter to really make these beautiful images shine!

I chose an envelope from the kit and a coordinating seal for this card! My second card uses both the sunflower and wheat images together again because they complement each other so well!

I chose to use the burlap background again, but this time over the entire panel with the sentiment stamped in the right corner. This is my second favorite sentiment; I just love it!

As you can see here, I added some of the copper embossing powder to both the burlap panel as well as the stamped Buffalo Plaid panel. I chose to keep it light to mimic gingham rather than a bold buffalo plaid to really play into the country feeling that I was trying to capture for both cards!

I couldn't resist adding some glitter to this card as well! There's nothing better than seeing the sunlight sparkle and shine through the waving wheat and majestic sunflowers!

This concludes my post for today, but this kit is now available for purchase in the Taylored Expressions Shop! Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink September Release Countdown Day 4 + Flash Sale {The Joy of Noel}

Welcome to the 4th and final day of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown! I'm sharing one card today using the new Feathered Friends 15 stamp/die set! Since I only have the one card, I decided to also share my cards that I made for this week's Flash Sale! You should have seen them in the newsletter that went out last night!
This cute Feathered Friends 15 stamp was just begging to be on an autumn card, don't you think? Since I've been on break I didn't get a chance to use the new autumn stamp/die sets that have been released, but I decided to use the cute sentiment from the Just Sentiments: Happy Fall stamp set on today's card.

I used the same colors as the stamping guide for this sweet little bird, which of course is why it seemed fitting for him/her to go on an autumn card. I chose to use the Hello Pumpkin stamp set that was released last year as the base for this cutie. I also stamped the new Weathered Wood Background stamp in Aqua Mist ink for some added detail. I know I will be using this one all season long!

Everything that has been showcased the last four days will be available for purchase tomorrow night starting at 10 PM ET!

For this week's Flash Sale, I chose to use the fabulous The Joy of Noel stamp set that was released last year! I just love it and decided to pull in a few of my other holiday favorites to pull these two cards together! To begin, I die cut all of the letters, star, and wreath using the The Joy of Noel die set and stamped them using a variety of inks. I really like how easy it is to achieve the woodgrain look of the letters with the two step stamps.

I decided to add some bits and bobs from other stamp sets that I love to give these stamps even more holiday touches! The berries, poinsettias, holly and leaves are from the Framing Florals: Christmas stamp set. This has been a favorite of mine to add these special festive touches to my holiday cards. I think the new Sprigs and Sprays: Holiday is going to rival this one, however! ha ha!

This particular card also features images from the fabulous Season of Joy stamp set to really give this design some extra pizazz! It's really one of my favorites and I ADORE the sentiments! I'm so particular about what sentiment styles speak to me and this set definitely fills all of my  check boxes!

I kept it simple by adding the "Tidings of" portion of the sentiment directly onto a panel of Bitty Big: Soft Stone patterned paper and then added the wreath and stamped/die cut letters. I added the black Border Bling: Skinny Dotted Frame to really ground the design. I added the rest of the floral pieces and then added it to a card base with the smaller version of the paper I used on the front. I added it slightly askew to really let the dots show. I added a few sequins to finish it off!

My second card features the NOEL portion of the stamp set, using the wreath that is included as the "O".

I couldn't resist adding this sweet little snowman to the center of the "O" as well. He just happened to be stamped and ready to go in the stamp/die pocket for the framing florals set, so it just seemed like he needed a home here! He is from the Sweet Scenes: winter stamp set.

Well friends, this concludes my post for today and for the release! Come back here tomorrow night at 1o PM ET to get the new release in the Papertrey Ink Shop! Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink September Release Countdown Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown! I'm sharing 4 cards today, three of which use the most delightful new set called Farm Fresh Trees! I'm completely obsessed and absolutely love this on-trend new  set!

This first card uses the previously showcased Weathered Wood background stamp paired with the Nifty Plaid background stamp that has been out for a few years. It gives this card the perfect patterned background to enhance this Farm Fresh Christmas tree sign!

I made one of these signs for my home a few years ago and I have to say, it is one of my favorite holiday decorations!

The stamp set comes with quite a few different tree and container options which are perfect to mix and match!

I chose to create some tin containers to put the trees in for a farmhouse look.

My second card uses the other "sign" option which says "Christmas Tree Market". I used the Weathered Wood background again, but this time as the background. I used a few different trees and containers stamped in both red and grey for some variation.

The sign portion is die cut from Smokey Shadow cardstock and then stamped using white ink for a different look.

I added some white paint splatter for a snowy feel!

Lot of glitter and a few more sprigs and sprays finish off this fun design!

This third card is one of my favorites! I love how the sign turned out paired with the two trees on either side and a BUNCH of sprigs and sprays!

I tried something a little bit different and let the sprigs come off of the bottom of the card. I love how it turned out!

This stamp set is really easy to use and to line up! I chose to use multiple colors of ink for the trees, sprigs, and sprays to create visual interest!

Each of the pieces for the sign are individual and can be stamped in different colors to give each sign a different look.

Of course I had to add some glitter and some white paint splatter to this one as well!

My fourth and final card for today used a combination of products over the last few days! This one features the new Winter Swirls stamp/die set.

I decided to create something a little bit whimsical and let the swirls come out from the poinsettia.

I used another one of the sentiments from the Just Sentiments: Snow stamp set to enhance the snowy vibes.

And yes, you guessed it, a few more sprigs and sprays!

This concludes my projects for day 3! Tomorrow is the 4th and final day of the countdown! Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink September Release Countdown Day 2

Hello and welcome back for day 2 of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown! Thanks for all of your sweet comments on yesterday's post! You're always so sweet! Today I'm sharing two more cards using the sweet new addition to the Feathered Friends collection! I was already planning on creating a pink bird for my card, but was pleasantly surprised to see that the stamping guide featured a pink bird, pretty much exactly as I have colored this one.

I die cut all of the pieces to assemble the bird and then I colored it using Distress Oxide inks. I used both liquid glue and foam squares to give this bird a life-like look.

As promised, I've used even more Sprigs and Sprays that were showcased yesterday! They are the perfect place for this pink bird to perch!

I used the FABULOUS new Weathered Wood Background stamp on this card, but ended up covering a lot of it up. Don't fret, though, because I've used it quite a bit over the next few days! ha ha!

My second card for today uses the new Border Bling: Snowflake dies. This was a super fun card to make, but it proved difficult to photograph! ha ha!

I heat embossed the "snowy" sentiment from the new Inside Greetings: Snow stamp set. I placed it directly underneath the die cut "Let it Snow" words that are included in the Border Bling: Snowflake dies.

I added a bright, white Poinsettia and leaves from the Into the Blooms: Poinsettia dies. I spritzed the entire card with Shimmer Spray to enhance the snowy details!

A bit of tinsel glitter and the new sequins finish off this snowy design! Join me again tomorrow for day 3 of the countdown! Thanks for fluttering by!
