So Happy to Be HOME!

It's my turn for this week's Project Inspiration for Papertrey Ink. I had so much fun creating this card and you can see it come together in 5 easy steps with step-by-step photos!

If you stop by regularly, you may have seen another "HOME" card that I'm planning on using as a "Welcome to the Neighborhood" card and that's how this one will be used, too! That being said, this could be used for someone returning from a trip, ministry, extended vacation, etc. You could also switch colors and details up to make this a "Home for the Holidays" Christmas design as well!

Cut an A2 panel of Pale Peony cardstock. Use the Fall Harvest Hot Foil Plate with champagne foil. Round the corners with a corner rounder punch.

Attach a strip of Bitty Big: Pale Peony pattern paper slightly higher than the middle. Cut the larger circle using the Love To Layer: Stitched Circle from Fine Linen cardstock. Cut a smaller circle from floral pattern paper using the middle sized circle included in the Love to Layer: Scalloped Circle Die. Glue them together and attach them to the background using foam squares.

Die cut the tiny house using the Bring Home the Holidays Die. Attach the tiny heart and bow. 

Die cut the HOME word twice from white cardstock using the Larger Than Life: Home Die an glue them together. Heat emboss the companion sentiment in gold onto a strip of vellum. Wrap it around the background panel and secure it with tape on the back. Please note: the small heart on the house is from the HOME die.

Die cut the flowers and foliage using the Into the Blooms: Above Ground Die and then color them with dye ink and blender brushes. Attach them around the house using liquid glue and foam squares. Attach the panel to a top-folding A2 card base.

A few additional tips: I die cut the bow twice; once from white and once from the Bitty Big pattern paper. I offset them and secured them with foam squares. The "knot" is attached with liquid glue.

I only used small strips of foam tape to the top of the HOME die to carefully attach it to the circle.

Home is the Nicest Place to Be

I've been having the best time creating cards that have been on my mental "to-make"  list! When I set out to make this particular card, I didn't necessarily have a theme in mind since I was just using some leftover pieces from another project.  I knew I would be using the bow and the flowers and foliage (with the exception of the corners). The colors could work nicely for all kinds of different themes and my first inclination was baby, but as the creative juices started flowing, this is what I ended up with!

I can't seem to stop making plaid backgrounds using the  Show Your Stripes Stencil Collection! I simply use it on the front side and then I flip the stencil over and stencil it again on the backside. Since this particular stencil has a diagonal stripe, it gives the plaid a unique look. I did end up by using Pixie Spray on the stencil so I could get crisp lines. I used an adhesive eraser all over the panel to remove any residue.

I used the beautiful Reflections: John 1 Die for the border piece. I layered it over the top of the plaid stencil panel, using foam squares. I also die cut the smallest oval included in the Love to Layer: Ovals Die from Papertrey Ink and attached it using foam squares. As I mentioned earlier, I already had the flowers, leaves, and bow left over from another project, so I simply attached them to the top of the oval. It was at this point that I decided I might try putting a house on there and of course I fell right in love!

The house die is from the Bring Home the Holidays Die and is cut from white cardstock with some Aqua Mist ink blended over the top. I was looking through my stash to try and find something that said welcome to the neighborhood and I happened upon the Larger Thank Life Die and coordinating stamp set. I just loved how the crisp white word looked at the bottom.

I heat embossed one of the companion sentiments and added it to the bottom. The die also includes a few little hearts, so I added some color with a blender brush and added one to the top of the house. I used the corner decor, stamp, set and coordinating. Die to gussy up two of the corners. Each one got a heart as well to continue with the theme. As you can see, I also decorated an envelope. I usually hand deliver welcome to the neighborhood cards, so this one has a little bit more detail than I usually do. 

I had an extra house so I decided to add it to the inside of the card with another sentiment stamped in gold ink. This was a really fun card to make even though I didn’t know what I was going to be creating when I started out! Thanks for fluttering by! 

 

Papertrey Ink January Release Countdown Day 4

Well friends, it's the 4th and final day of the Papertrey Ink January release countdown! I have quite a bit to share with you today and up first is a card made using the new Psalm Reflections: January stamp/die set! I'm excited about this particular series because I studied Psalms last year and have been reading one chapter every day this year as well. They are such beautiful scriptures so it's fun to have stamps to make pretty cards with! 

There is a coordinating die to cut out the word 'Lord' and an impression die to make some sunrays coming out from each side of the word. I didn't use those because of the oval die I used, but they would be really pretty if you designed your card just right!

I also added a trio of leftover cherry blossoms from yesterday's card; they are so fun to color and put together!

I layered a panel of Enchanted Evening cardstock that was die cut using the On the Border: Floral Bliss Die over an A2 panel of the same cardstock for a tone-on-tone look. I also added some Dark Indigo ink around the corners for contrast.

Next up is a series of cards using some fun new products! This card features the new Welcome to the Neighborhood: On the Move stamp/die set. The sentiment on the moving truck is from the new Welcome to the Neighborhood stamp/die set!

A new family moved in around the corner so I thought it would be fun to personalize this card with their new house number. I stamped the 629 numbers using the Fancy Floral Numbers stamp set using Sweet Blush ink on Sweet Blush cardstock. I die cut them using the Fancy Floral Number dies.

I stenciled some clouds onto a white panel and then added the house numbers at the top. I layered the cute moving truck and moving boxes, furniture, etc. at the bottom.

My next card uses the bigger moving boxes included in the Welcome to the Neighborhood stamp/die set. I also paired it with the new Larger than Life: Home dies and coordinating sentiment set.

I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the heart in the center of the O.

There is 3 different styles of boxes; I only used two for this card, and then there are a bunch of fun things to pack the boxes with.

My final card for today and for the release is one of my favorites; back when the Bring Home the Holidays dies were first released, I told Julie that they would be my new go-to house dies for all of my Welcome to the Neighborhood cards! Don't they look so cute with this cute moving truck?

To begin, I die cut all of the pieces from the Bring Home the Holidays die set; I didn't use most of the pieces, but I always like having options! I colored the hills using Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide inks and layered them over the top of a stenciled A2 panel using liquid glue.

I chose three houses to place here and there and then added the fences from the Welcome to the Neighborhood: On the Move die set. I also used the two pine trees to frame the yard.

The Welcome to the Neighborhood sentiment is from the new Welcome to the Neighborhood stamp set. I also used the new Larger than Life: Home sentiment stamp set for the truck. 

I layered all of the rest of the pieces using foam squares to finish it off. I love having a lot of welcome cards in my stash! Thanks for fluttering by!

 

Papertrey Ink January Release Countdown Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink January release countdown! I'm sharing a few projects today using some fun new products! My first card features the new Larger than Life: Home dies and the new Into the Blooms: Cherry Blossom dies!

I die cut all of the pieces for the flowers from white cardstock and then colored them using Distress Oxide inks. I used liquid glue to assemble them together.

I also die cut the HOME from white cardstock and then used finger daubers to color the roof portion and the heart in the middle of the O.

The stamped sentiment at the bottom is from the new Larger Than Life: Home sentiments.

The Into the Blooms: Cherry Blossoms have leaves, a branch, and buds included in the die collection!

My next project is a simple birthday invitation that would be really easy to mass produce.

I know I will be using this die collection for many more things, not just invitations!

I also used the new party time stamp set for the wording on the invitation.

Pinkfresh Studio {Built on Dreams}

Hello friends! I'm popping in today to share 4 cards I made using the Built on Dreams suite of products! When I made THESE cards, I joked that I needed someone to move into the neighborhood before spring is over so that the springtime design would still be relevant. Well, that happened so here I am creating a few new designs to add to my stash! I actually made 2 "welcome" cards and then two "thank you" designs so I could use both of the bold sentiments included in the Built on Dreams stamp set.

I had so much fun stenciling each  panel using the Built on Dreams layering stencils. I used the same technique for these cards as I did on THESE; I simply switched up the last cluster of flowers to make each card unique, yet cohesive. My two favorites ended up being the blue one in the right corner and the purple one in the left corner.

I decided to make shaped cards because who doesn't love a cute little house shaped card, right? They're a sweet little size to tuck in with a welcome basket or housewarming gift! If you're not digging the shaped card idea, you can simply add the house shape to a standard A2 card base as well. Once I had the stenciling finished, I used the Built on Dreams die to cut each house.

To create the shaped card, I cut and scored 4 regular A2 cards and then placed the die over the top leaving the left edge of the die hanging off the fold line. Easy peasy! Just run it through your diecutting machine and you've got your shaped card base. I used liquid glue to adhere the stenciled/die cut houses.

Each card features the bold sentiment either reading "thank you" or "home" and then I heat embossed the smaller sentiment in white onto a strip of black cardstock. I also spritzed each card with Shimmer Spray. I normally do this AFTER I take photos, but I was too excited to see the sparkle! ha ha! The tiny flecks you can see on the black portions are the sparkles. They don't turn out looking that great in photos, so that's why I usually wait until after I photograph my projects!

I also added some Essentials: Jewels Mix (which are in stock-yay!) to each of the cards in assorted colors.

The stamp set also features this large sentiment that is perfect to add to the inside of the "Welcome to the Neighborhood" cards! 

Since I'm on an envelop kick, I decided to create some envelopes to coordinate with each card. I used a piece of typing paper to tuck underneath the flap of each of the envelopes and then stamped them using the Diamond Tiles background stamp. I think it really adds to the overall presentation of the card! Thanks for fluttering by!

 

Wintertime Welcome

The cutest new couple moved into the neighborhood along with their super-precious twin baby girls! I couldn't wait to deliver a "welcome to the neighborhood" gift basket and card! I don't know if I've mentioned it or not, but I have a tendency of buying all of the stamps/dies/stencils/etc. that I fall in love with and they get sent to a specific "new product" basket that I have next to my desk. Unfortunately, this basket is bursting at the seams since I rarely get a chance to do "just for fun" creating! I decided to put a dent in the basket with today's card. I don't want to put the items away in their designated bins until I've actually USED them, otherwise they will be forgotten. Once I've created, photographed, and posted the project, the chances of me forgetting about a product are greatly reduced! Does this sound familiar to anyone? ha ha!

To begin, I used a beautiful embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp, which appears to be discontinued or out of stock. It was part of their holiday release; I snagged two others in addition to this one, so hopefully I'll get a chance to use those as well! ha ha! I used Stormy Sea cardstock which looks absolutely beautiful with this deep embossing! I added some white paint splatter for a snowy look.

I die cut the houses from Soft Stone cardstock using the My Neighborhood Dienamics. I glued the corresponding roofs to each house using liquid glue and then added them to the embossed panel using foam squares. I probably should have waited until I added the sentiment strip, because after I edited these photos, I noticed they were wonky! oh well! ha ha! I gave the rooftops some glittery snow for some added detail and sparkle.

Speaking of the sentiment, I heat embossed the "welcome" sentiment from the Right at Home  stamp set onto a strip of Smokey Shadow cardstock using silver powder. I adhered it to the embossed panel using foam squares.  I almost left the card just like that; clean and simple, but then I remembered that I had an extra pine bough and pinecone left over from THIS card, so I added it to the top!

I'm really glad I remembered it because it enhanced the images from the embossed background so nicely!

Since I had so many die cut houses left over, I decided to gussy up the inside by adding another sentiment and a cute little house! Thanks for fluttering by!
