You're Out of this World, Valentine!

Almost EVERY time I am out and about with my little ones, I get asked if my 3 &  5 year old are twins. I get it...I do. I mean, it's my own fault for dressing them the same.  So I decided to make "twinner" Valentine's Day cards for them. Hopefully this will  eliminate any fighting or hurt feelings over who got the "better" card! My sister loves to send them those really fantastic cards that make sounds and shake and shimmy and do all kinds of fun stuff! Let me tell you...there isn't a dry eye if someone's card does something cooler than the other.  Well...let there be harmony this Valentine's Day and hopefully they will just love their rocket ship cards.

As I was picking each color for the space ship, I was getting a "Big Hero 6" vibe so I decided to go with it. I colored the rockets with Copic markers and then created the outer space feel by using my color spritzing tool to spray some ink onto the focal image.

I diecut hearts in three different sizes. These are the dies that coordinate with the Heart Prints set from PTI that I used for the hearts and the "valentine" and "xoxo" sentiments. Everything else is from this little $5 space set.   I used a cuttlebug embossing folder on the lighter grey piece. I thought it gave it a "craters on the moon" type feeling. I also chose the middle size heart stamp to continue with that feeling.
Instead of having fire coming out of the back of this rocket, I used the smallest heart die to make some little hearts. I added some stickles to the rocket as well as one of the hearts for some extra sparkle.  The main sentiment was stamped using Fresh Snow ink directly onto the card base.  I used a lot of foam squares to achieve the varying heights of each piece.

You can see the dynamic duo in action here. I took my kids on a photoshoot for our Halloween cards this last fall. I had a lot of fun and clearly they did, too! I get lots of tears with all of my photo shoots for Christmas cards and things, but they were soooo good on this particular day! I mean, who wouldn't want to be a super hero?  Thanks for fluttering by!
