Ink to Paper September Release Countdown Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the Ink to Paper September release countdown! Things are getting downright jolly as we kick off this month's countdown! There's so much to love with this month's release...I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! I have 4 projects to share with you today and first up is this Christmas card using the new Snowflakes dies paired with the latest Feathered Friends die. Everything will be available for purchase beginning at 10 PM EDT on September 15th!

I die cut all of the pieces for the bird and then colored them using some cool blue Distress Oxide ink colors. I followed the suggested guide that is provided to us, which actually decided the entire look and feel of my card!

Once I had the bird all colored and assembled, I decided to make a blended background using the same inks and then die cut the snowflakes for an ombre look. Once the panel was complete, I die cut the snowflakes.

I cut a panel of white cardstock and arranged the snowflakes until I was happy with the  placement. I also chose to use this beautiful new sentiment from the Just Sentiments: Warmth stamp set. I took a picture of the arrangement with my phone and then lifted the snowflakes up using the Press N' Seal technique. I took the picture so that I could place the sentiment stamp back down where it needed to go after I picked the snowflakes up with the Press N' Seal. Hopefully that makes sense. I guess I could have put it into my MISTI, picked up the stamp and then lifted the snowflakes. Ha ha! Oh well...it all worked out very easily anyway!

The sentiment is stamped in black for a nice bit of contrast. The snowflakes either got a dab of liquid glue or a foam square, depending on the surface area that each one had. I added some sparkling clear sequins in the center of each of the snowflakes as well as a few here and there. The bird is placed above the sentiment using additional foam squares for dimension. The entire white panel is adhered to a top folding Soft Stone card base using foam squares.

Next up are three cards using the fabulous new Joy of Noel stamp set! This is such a fun set to use and I tried to create three different looking designs so you can see how versatile this set can be!

For my first card, I used the JOY letters using all woodgrain letters. The stamp set comes with an optional twig wreath that can be swapped for the O in both NOEL and JOY. I use it on my next two projects so you can see how it looks.

I love the scripted "Jesus is Born" sentiment and I used it on two of the three designs. I know I talk about my heartfelt love for Santa a lot, but Jesus is the REAL reason for the season, so I try and use sentiments like this as much as possible!

I adorned the card using lots of foliage from the fabulous Floral Christmas that was released last year. I'm just warning you now that I have used these on A LOT of projects over the next few days! ha ha! But, in all seriousness, they are just the perfect addition to so many projects! I stamped and die cut a BUNCH before I even started on my projects and had so much fun grabbing little pieces here and there!

It is hard to see on this particular card, but I have stamped the fabulous new Painted Stripes Background image using Pure Poppy ink. I have used it on other projects, so you can see it better later!

The Border Bling: Skinny Stitched Frames are the perfect addition to frame these fun layers. I love the extra detail that it adds to the design.

A bit of white paint splatter, glitter and sequins finish off this JOY-ful design!

This is a clean and simple card using the NOEL letters and the twig wreath that I mentioned earlier. You can see the Painted Stripes Background much better on this card; I heat embossed it in white onto a panel of Soft Stone cardstock.

I chose to use two different colors of letters to give this card a fun look. I stamped the E in Soft Stone and Weathervane ink and then the N and L in Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel ink.

I heat embossed the "Jesus is Born" sentiment in silver onto a strip of vellum and wrapped it around the card and secured it with Tombow adhesive. I just love how the vellum allows you to see through to the background so no detail is lost!

I added a red frame to this card as well to really frame the fun letters and bring continuity to the design. Of course, a few sequins here and there add just the right amount of holiday sparkle!
There's even a little woodgrain star to tuck here or there for added detail!

My final card for today, and using the JOY OF NOEL stamp set, uses the letters to create a mantle/shelf scene. I pinned a mantle idea last year using real letters and a wreath spelled out just like this and couldn't wait to translate it onto my card!

I used the popular Growth Stamp Set for the shelf and the Rustic Brick Background to help set the stage for the NOEL letters and added foliage. I told you you'd be seeing a lot more of it! LOL! I chose both a natural wood look as well as some white washed letters for added detail.

I chose to accent the card with another one of the charming sentiments from the Just Sentiments: Warmth stamp set. I can tell I will be reaching for these all winter long! I added some white paint splatter and sequins to this design as well to finish it off! This concludes day 1 and join me again tomorrow for day 2! I'm excited to share with you what I've been working on! Thanks for fluttering by!

Reverse Confetti New Release Blog Hop

I'm thrilled to be participating in the Reverse Confetti new release blog hop! I have 4 projects to share with you today using many of the fabulous new products that are available now! I will include the list of designers participating in the hop at the bottom of this post!  Up first is a bold card using the new Wreath of Joy Confetti Cuts paired with the Center Frame Cover Panel and Joyful Holiday Wishes sentiment set!

I die cut the background of JOY out of white cardstock and then the smaller J and Y out of gold specialty cardstock. The poinsettia portion is die cut from red cardstock twice and then added over the top using foam squares. I almost left it just like this, but in the end, opted to add the heat embossed/ colored image from the Lanterns Stamp Set.

I also heat embossed the "Joy to the World" sentiment using gold powder on a strip of vellum. I wrapped it around the black panel and secured it in the back with clear tape for security.

I added a few sparkling clear sequins here and there for some added sparkle. I layered the entire black panel onto an A2 card base using foam squares.

My next card uses the same Cover Panel but this time die cut from white cardstock. I also used the poinsettia portion of the Wreath of Joy and a colorful assortment of the petals to create this colorful card. I was totally inspired by all of the rainbow designs from Laura Bassen; these products were just begging to be used like this! I also heat embossed the "Peace on Earth" sentiment, which is from the "free with $60 purchase" stamp set called Peace Tree.

I didn't actually get a chance to use the fun images from that set, but the sentiment worked perfectly with this rainbow design.

I used Laura's photography style for this card as well....she is a genius and I love her work so much! I really love how she uses two sheets of colored paper to ground her cards, so I thought I'd give it a try with this inspired card!

To begin, I die cut all of the petal portions using scraps of assorted cardstock colors. I also die cut the base portion out of black. The larger of the  Circle Rays Duo confetti cuts worked perfectly as the backdrop for these pretty petals.

I used liquid glue to attach them in a circle and onto the poinsettia portion as well.  Once that was done, I added it to the Center Frame piece using foam squares. The entire panel was added to a top folding A2 Soft Stone card base.

My last two cards for today use the super fun and clever Lanterns and Lantern Additions stamp set. I created a Christmas card as well as an autumn card using the fun images included in these two sets.

As you can see, I used the fun Circle Rays Duo on this card as well, but this time the smaller of the two. It provided the perfect "shine" for the candle!

I'm head over heels in love with the collection of sentiments included in these two sets as well. I love the mix of the simple font paired with the beautiful scripted words!

I stamped the images in black and then colored them with an assortment of alcohol markers and then die cut them using the Lanterns and Lanterns Additions Confetti Cuts.

 I added coarse crystal glitter to the lantern, the foliage as well as the lantern for some holiday shine!

Both cards got some white paint splatter to give the illusion of scattered light.

I placed a sequins directly behind the glow of the candle to help scatter light as well. I also added a trio of sparkling clear sequins here and there for added detail and shine.

I love blue and white pumpkins, so that is how I colored these two for this "gather together" card. This is such a fun set that I know I will be reaching for often during the holidays! Don't forget to hop along to the other designers' blogs to see the creative ways they've used these products!

Enjoy and thanks for fluttering by!

Flash Sale {Blessed}

Welcome to this week's Papertrey Ink/Ink to Paper Flash Sale post! I've picked some colors and products fitting for the season! I don't know about where you live, but Sunflowers are EVERYWHERE right now!  I thought it would be fun to put together a birthday card/tag combo together using these cute images! The sale will go from Sept. 7th at 12 noon until Sept. 9th at 12 noon! The products included on this week's sale are:

To begin the card, I used my mini MISTI and stamped a row of sunflowers on the top and bottom of the white panel using Summer Sunrise and Cocoa Bean ink. I die cut the pieces for the "Blessed" word and then stamped them using Ocean Tides ink. I arranged them here and there for a whimsical look using foam squares. I stamped the "Wishing You" portion of the sentiment using black ink directly to the panel. I actually did that before I added the Blessed word, but arranged them before hand for placement of the stamped sentiment.

 I stamped the sentiment on the coordinating tag using my mini MISTI as well to get good placement as well. All of the extra sunflowers and leaves that I used on today's projects were die cut first out of white cardstock and then stamped.

All of the die cut sunflowers and leaves have some added glitter on the edges for some shine! I just love adding glitter to my projects for added sparkle!

This tag can be used along with the card to package up a birthday gift, or used separately on a different gift or some goodies! I always love a coordinating set, how about you? And...I know I ALWAYS say it, but if you're not a tag maker, this little tag would make a great focal point on a card as well! I like to make tags with the leftover pieces from my projects for something quick and easy! Thanks for fluttering by!

Pinkfresh Studio {Hugs...I am here for you}

Hello friends! I'm over on the Pinkfresh Studio Blog today sharing a colorful floral card and I'm sharing it here as well! It's no secret that I love adding alphabet dies to my cards, and I couldn't wait to use the fabulous Lea's Ornate Uppercase die set and the Heather Lowercase die set on today's card!
I realize that this card is a bit on the "spring" side as we're headed into fall, but I always love these colors together, no matter the season! That being said, you could totally switch up the colors and letters to spell "fall" and use different images to embellish the wreath.  The sentiment that I chose to use is from the new You Can Change the World stamp set. I love the messages as well as the combination of fonts.

I had a stamped panel left over from THIS project that worked perfectly for an understated background for today's card. I added a hint of blue ink around the edges to give it a bit of definition.  I layered the wreath onto a panel that was die cut using the Diagonal Stitched Squares and added it to the stamped background panel.

I love the sweet Lovely Blossoms stamp images and they accented the wreath perfectly. As I mentioned earlier, if you want to switch up the look, just swap out images to get a completely different look!  This was such a fun card to create and I can't wait to use these alphabets even more!

Flash Sale {Ghosts and Ghoulies}

It's Monday which means there's a brand-new Flash Sale from Papertrey Ink/Ink to Paper beginning at 12 noon EDT! Today I'm getting in the Halloween spirit with two cards using one of my favorite color combinations for Halloween and some fun stamps and dies, too! The sale begins at 12 noon today EDT and ends on Wednesday at 12 noon EDT.

I had a lot of fun putting these Halloween cards together; from the stenciled background to the playful ghosts and the cheesecloth in the background!

To begin both cards, I cut two panels measuring 4 by 5 1/4 inches out of Lilac Grace and Plum Pudding cardstock. I used a craft stencil to add some Plum Pudding ink to the lighter panel and Royal Velvet ink to the darker panel using a blender brush. Once that was done, I added the Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste over the top to give the polka dots some shimmer and shine! I loved the raised detail it gives the panel as well! I felt the polka dots played off the ghosts' expressions nicely!

I die cut all of the ghosts, bows, and speech bubbles out of white cardstock and then stamped everything using my mini MISTI. Since I was making 2, it really made things easy!

I stamped the "Happy  Halloween" sentiment in black onto a strip of Royal Velvet cardstock to bring in more of this particular shade. It's so rich and really helped me to ground the cards.

I stamped and heat embossed the spider web image onto a small rectangle of black cardstock. I adhered the white and the black panel together at a wonky angle using foam squares. I also attached the snippets of cheesecloth to the back pulling it here and there until I got the desired look.

Mr. Ghost is wearing a dapper bow-tie and Mrs. Ghost is sporting her Lilac Grace bow. The eyes and mouth images got a little extra detail with a bit of Crystal Glaze to make them shine! I also added a few sparkling clear sequins here and there! Thanks for fluttering by!
