Iris Birthday Wishes

I'm a bit behind as I mentioned in my last post! Usually I don't post cards to Instagram until I have put together a blog post, but since these cards were included in the Papertrey Ink newsletter, I figured that would be good enough for the time being! ha ha!
I decided to still post the cards here because I have step-by-step photos and I will included more detailed explanations on my process!

To begin, I die cut and colored the Into the Blooms: Iris using blender brushes and ink. I glued them together with liquid glue using the guide on the website for proper placement.

I die cut the background pieces using the  Cover Plate: Trellis Die from Amethyst Allure cardstock. I layered the die cut portion over the top of A2 Lilac Grace panels using liquid glue. As you can see, I left the tiniest little circles in tact and used those as points to add the glue. I used a blender brush and Royal Velvet ink to add some contrast around the corners and edges.

My inspiration was the gorgeous irises that have been blooming the last few weeks. I also wanted to bring in a postal element so I die cut the middle size included in the Border Bling: Skinny Postage Frame die from white cardstock. I also cute a rectangle of white cardstock just larger than the inside of the frame. I blended some Hawaiian Shores ink around the edges as well as some ink splatter. The date, 25  cent image, and the wavy "canceled" images are from the Vintage Postage Stamp Set and the circle is from the Penciled Outlines Stamp Set. I glued the frame over the top.

Next, I stamped the birthday sentiment, which is from the Just Sentiments: Belated Birthday stamp set and added the flowers using foam squares.

Then I tucked the greenery here and there until I was satisfied with the arrangement. I cut the larger pieces so they wouldn't be too tall amongst the flowers.

I placed one of the frames on an angle and added some glitter and sequins.

This one is straight, also with glitter and sequins! Thanks for fluttering by!
