Blog Banner

Hello! I am trying to make a few more changes to my blog. I have wanted to get a "real" blog banner, but have been putting it off. I will be experimenting over the next little while. I decided just to use my Be Mine banner for now, but will be changing it soon since...um...tomorrow is March 1st. LOL! I want a fun spring time banner, so bear with me during my "experiments"~

Spring Silhouettes Swap

I am completely in love with the new Spring Silhouettes Designer Series Paper from SU! I love the color combo. I was really sad to see the brocade paper retire, but thrilled to see the same patterns, just different colors. I made the box project for a hostess gift, and the card was for a swap at last night's SU! meeting in Park City. The bird has dazzling diamonds glitter on it, but from the photo it looks like dirt. Glitter is sometimes so hard to photograph. On the card I used one of my favorite sets, "Always", but I think you all already know that! LOL!

Signs of Spring

Don't you just love Spring? It is one of my favorite seasons. I decided to make a Spring card today with my Wreath stamp set from The Saltbox Studio called Deck the Door. As much as I love my snowmen, I am glad to be using a *springy* image. I chose the heart grapevine wreath and the spring sentiment. I chose my papers first and then colored my image. Sometimes I do it the other way around and then can't find the *right* papers. This saves me the hassle and I get to use the papers that I *want* to use. I love these notecards from Amuse. I actually ended up cutting them and using them as pattern paper, with a Kraft base. This card measures 5 by 5. I also used some Amuse Twinkle stickers on the corners. ( my 4 year old daughter saw me using them and asked if she could have two for earrings...how could I say no) I can see myself reaching for these wreaths for many upcoming cards. I am counting down the days until I can hang my spring wreath on my door. Not too many more! I also added a picture of what my flower beds are looking like. Once the snow melted, I could see the daffodils and tulips poking there first shoots up and each day they grow bigger. It won't be long now.

* update on the wrist: yes...that is why I have been a bad blogger. It is feeling much better...still some issues, but it will be as good as new before long. Thank you for all of your well wishes.

For the Birds!

Hello! I have been super busy this week and ended up giving away all of my Valentine's projects before they could be photographed. I also am having serious lighting issues with my cards. I moved my *photography* area and the lighting is not good. I decided to share a card with you that I made a while back, but didn't post anywhere. I fell yesterday while Iceskating and really hurt my wrist. Yes...it was on my stamping hand. I went to stamp today and couldn't even press the stamp down without pain. This is not good. I hope that it feels better soon, because I have a workshop on Tuesday. Anyway...enought rambling. This card used mostly alphabets, one from PSX and one from SU!. The bird is from Cavallini Papers and Co. -"Birds and Nests". It is one of my favorite stamp sets. I have some new goodies from SU! that I am itching to use, so look for those this week.

I'm back!

Wow! It has been a whole week since my last post. I have been sick and my creative spark has been burnt out. I am feeling better now, so I decided to participate in today's color challenge over at SCS. The color combo for today is Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, Kraft. I stared at my stamps and decided a Turquoise elephant would be cute, so I used the set "Wild about You". I also remembered that I had some retired paper from Dots and Dashes that had these colors in it. I know there is a little strip of orange, but it kindof looks tan from the picture.

I have a whole list of Valentine's projects that I need to get done, so look for those soon.
Stamps: Wild about you
Ink: Basic Black, Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Paper: Kraft, Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Whisper White, Dots and Dashes DS paper
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Paper Piercer and Mat pack, SU! buttons, Turquoise grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, glue dots, Color Spritzer tool

You warm my Heart!

One of my favorite challenges over at SCS is the sketch challenge. It is always fun for me to see the sketch and then find the *perfect* stamps to work with the sketch. I knew I wanted to use some of my stamps from The Saltbox Studio, so I chose to combine two of the snowpeople from *Winter Wonders* for the long strip. Don't these snowpeople make a darling couple? I thought so. I also knew I wanted to use this fantastic paper from Doodlebug Designs that I recieved in a package today from Northridge Media. I thought that it worked perfectly with this adorable snow couple. *Winter Wonders* is one of my favorite new sets from The Saltbox Studio. I love how well the images and sentiments work together. I also added some stickles (of course) because I love how snow sparkles in the sun, so I wanted to add a little sparkle to my snow card. Enjoy! Thanks for fluttering by!!!!

BE MINE Banner

Yipee! I am finally done! I have stamp club ladies coming over tomorrow night so I wanted it to be finished so they could see it. I really like how it turned out. I used the new set "Always" set that I am in love with, as well as "Define your Life" and "Fundamental Phrases". I kept my color palette simple so that it would be easy to create each panel. For those of you who are Fan Club members over at SCS, I made a Welcome Banner similar to this for my daughter's 4th birthday party. I kept each piece the same size, and matted it the same so that it wouldn't look too busy. I was already worried about that since each piece has it's own layout. I tried to lay them side by side, so that I could visually see how each one would work together. Let me know what you think. Thanks for fluttering by.

I will be posting my stamp club projects tomorrow or the next day, so stay tuned!

True Love and a Giveaway!!!!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! I went shopping yesterday for the express purpose of buying some Valentine's decorations. For some reason, my stash of Valentine Decor is seriously lacking. I found a few great things which I bought, but decided that I could make some great stuff, too. So...check back in the next day or two for a fun Valentine's Home Decor project that I am working on. In the mean time, I will share a Valentine that I made a while back that I haven't posted here or on SCS. I love using Chipboard, but find that I don't reach for it often. I need to start using my stash better. Anyway, this card uses one of the large SU! chipboard pieces which I mooshed real red craft ink onto, then heat set with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. I then added the sentiment stamp from the stamp set Sweet Thing. I colored it with Markers so that some of the words would become more of a focus. I also used the Tres Chic Background stamp, which I totally love.
*****LEAVE A COMMENT ON YOUR FAVE VALENTINE TRADITION AND I WILL RANDOMLY DRAW A NAME FOR A VALENTINE SURPRISE THAT WILL BE SENT YOUR WAY MONDAY!!!!!!!
One of the Valentine's Traditions that we had growing up was that we wouldn't just take a Valentine to a friend, but we would do it by leaving it on the doorstep and then ringing the doorbell and running away. It was a complete surprise. Did anyone else do this, or was I the only one?

You're snow much fun!

Hello! While I was shoveling the drive way this morning, I was thinking how much it was interrupting my stamping time. I thought some more about what I would stamp when I got inside and I remembered this darling image of the snowman with a shovel from The Saltbox Studio. It was so fitting for today. I added the cardinal and hearts which are separate images from this set. The entire set is called Winter Wonders. The sentiment is also included in the set and I think it is darling! I always love sets that include coordinating sentiments. It is a must have for the season. I decided to add this image to a box I created with Kraft cardstock, rather than a card. If you know me, then you know I love making 3-D projects of all kinds. I think I will fill the box up with cocoa packets or candy and give it to my neighbor who is always out shoveling with me. She also happens to be one of my good friends! I think she will get a kick out of it. Thanks for fluttering by!
P.S. My camera is having some issues and I think it's operator as well. I apologize for the poor photos as of late. I think I have some tinkering to do!
