Ink to Paper December Countdown Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the Ink to Paper December countdown! The love theme continues with the new "To Die For Sentiments: Love" paired with Just Sentiments: Valentine and the new "I Heart You" stamp set!

I went for a CAS look to create two identical cards. To begin, I die cut the "Love You" sentiments out of gold specialty paper and set them aside. I also die cut the red heart and the scalloped border and glued them together using liquid glue.

I stamped the "forever and always" portion of the sentiment onto a panel of Linen Cardstock measuring 4 by 5 1/4 inches using my mini MISTI for precision. I layered the linen panel onto a panel of 4 1/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches of Pure Poppy cardstock. Normally I would have just made the card base from the red cardstock, but this was literally my LAST piece of red! Ack! Anyway, it worked out perfectly and I just layered all of that onto white card bases.

Once that was done, I put the heart portion onto the card front using foam squares. I layered the "Love" portion using a 2 way glue pen and then the "you" portion underneath.

I really love the new "Just Sentiments: Valentine" because they work so nicely with all of the new To Die For Sentiments!

My second project for today also uses the new "To Die For Sentiments: Love" but this time I used the word "heart". I thought it complemented the heat embossed sentiment nicely.

I dry embossed the new On the Border: From the Heart Frame. The heart portion was the perfect size to fit the heart image from the new All About You set that was showcased on day 1. I added it using foam squares and then added the heat embossed sentiment wrapped around to the back of the embossed panel.

I added a few burnished gold sequins to complement the embossed sentiment. I hope you've enjoyed day 3 of the countdown! Join me again tomorrow for the 4th and final day! Thanks for fluttering by!

SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week Day 5

It's the 5th and final day of the SugarPea Designs December Sweet Peek Week! Everything will be available for purchase TODAY! Yay! I'm super excited about today because we're showcasing a fun new set called Heart Prints and its coordinating die; Simple Heart SugarCuts

For today's cards, I used the striped image from the new set; there's something so classic about stripes and florals paired together that just makes me happy! I stamped the hearts three times and then uses the coordinating die cut to cut them out. I added them to a panel of pink cardstock and white that was die cut using the Card Front Element Builder

I used foam squares to attach them for dimension. I stamped the floral images using the previously released Meadow Motifs stamp set. As soon as this set was released, I knew I would be using it A LOT and I was right! One of my favorite, and unexpected, cards where I used the Meadow Motifs was for fall that you can see HERE. I guess what I am trying to say is that I really like it! ha ha!

I colored the images using copic markers and then added some white details with  a gel pen. I used the Meadow Motifs SugarCuts to die cut them and then added them to accent the striped hearts.

The sentiment, which is also from the new Heart Prints set, is stamped in black and then added to the center heart using additional foam squares.

A trio of sparkling clear sequins finish off these two designs! Don't forget to stop by the other designers' blogs to see how they've used this versatile new set!

Ink to Paper December Countdown Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the Ink to Paper December release countdown! I've got A LOT to share with you today, so grab a cup of cocoa and get comfy! Many of you are probably busy addressing your Christmas cards while I'm busy making Valentines! LOL! I STILL have to get my Christmas cards sent out! ha ha!

This first card features the latest in the Inside Greetings series: Valentine's Day! It has the sweetest sentiments that are going to be perfect for both the inside and outside of my cards, like I've shown here today!

I'm also showcasing the new Border Bling: Hearts die and of course, I couldn't resist adding a few of yesterday's favorites: On the Border: From the Heart and the flowers from the Cup of Tea die collection.

I added some Pale Peony ink blending around the perimeter of the die cut heart border to give is just a hint of tint! I layered it onto a top folding A2 Pale Peony card base to allow even more color to peek through.

I'm obsessed with the border that I used at the top. I die cut it twice and glued it together with liquid glue. I added the flowers here and there for some fun detail.

The heart border was layered on top of a frame die cut from Pale Peony cardstock using the Pierced Feature Frames: Rectangles. It's the perfect place to anchor the the border and adds that extra bit of depth and interest.

The sentiment is heat embossed in gold onto a strip of vellum and wrapped around the heart panel using tape to secure it. Please note, I did this BEFORE I added it to the card base.

You can really see the shine of the embossing in this photo; I love the elegant look of embossing!

I added a few sequins here and there for some sparkle and shine!

For those of you who have been waiting for a new addition to the "Tag Creations: Delightful Bunch" stamp/die set, the wait is over! The new stamp/die collection is called Tag Creations: Delightful Hearts! I used it to create the next two projects in today's showcase!

The new die collection includes the base shape which allows you to stamp the three smaller hearts at the top and then there is a separate piece to stamp and die cut the hearts. The stamp set includes some cute new sentiments as wel as the polka dots to add to the larger heart as I did on this card.

The xoxoxox border at the bottom is from the Inside Greetings: Valentine's Day stamp set and I also stamped one of the other greetings on the inside, but didn't photograph that.

I added some additional hearts that were left over from the On The Border: From the Heart die and stamped them with the plaid image from the All About You set that was also showcased yesterday. All of these new products will be available for purchase starting on December 15th at 10 pm EST.

This next project uses the heart tag as an actual tag to dress up this Muslin Bag. I did some custom stamping on the bag as well! I used to stamp on fabric all time, so it was fun to work on this project!

I used the plaid stamp AGAIN (lol) to create a pattern on the bag using True Black and Pure Poppy ink. I also used another one of the Inside Greetings: Valentine's Day sentiments to add even more interest to the bag.

This will be the perfect thing to tuck a gift or treat in for Valentine's Day! This is one of those projects that feels special and personal, but is very simple to put together!

Last, but not least, is a fun card using the latest in the "Simply Sweet" series! I used it along with another new set called "Critter Love". To begin this card, I used yet another card front using the Border Bling: Hearts die. I layered it onto a white card base.

I created the tiny envelope using an old Martha Stewart envelope pattern that I just love. It was the perfect choice for the postal vibe I was going for on this card.

I added it using foam squares to the Mix and Mat: Postal die. I used another one of my leftover hearts to add to the front of the envelope. This was the perfect place to add the paper airplane that is included in the Critter Love stamp set. I added just a hint of blue marker to the image using a Copic marker.
I tucked in a little note to the envelope with the "sending" sentiment and then stamped the "lots of love" portion at the bottom. I also added a few of the die cut hearts from the frame for some extra detail.

A few sequins finish off this fun design!

I hope you've enjoyed today's showcase! Join me again tomorrow for Day 3 of the countdown! Thanks for fluttering by!

SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week! I think today might be my favorite so far! These cute robots from the new Love Machine stamp set are just so fun, especially paired with the Love Word with shadow that was showcased yesterday.

I stamped out each of the images to color while I was doing some volunteer work at my boys' school. I knew I would have some down time based on the nature of the event, so I got to work coloring. There were quite a few kids that passed me while I was working on them and the comments were PRICELESS! "Why are you coloring?" "What are you coloring?" "But it's not even CHRISTMAS yet!" "You're really good at that!" My favorite was when I explained that they were Valentine's Day robots, and the kid that said," But it's not even CHRISTMAS yet!"

Once the images were colored, I used the coordinating Love Machine SugarCuts to die cut them. I set them aside to get to work on the background. I used the new English Bond Brick Wall Stencil and a gray ink pad to get the blended background. I left it white at the top where the heart is located to give it a little bit of added detail.

The heart is added to the stenciled background using foam squares. I then was able to add the different robots using additional foam squares. I added some Crystal Glaze to the "light bulbs" on their heads for some added realistic detail.

As you can see, I made two cards so I could use more of the cute images and two of the included sentiments.  I'm a sucker for punny sentiments.

As I mentioned earlier, I used the Love word with shadow, for both of these cards. These really add a lot to both of these simple designs!

The sentiments are stamped directly onto the stenciled brick background using  a MISTI for precision.

Join me tomorrow for the 5th and final day of the Sweet Peek Week when all of the new products will be available for purchase! Don't forget to stop by the other designers' blogs to see how they've used these cute images!

Ink to Paper December Countdown Day 1

Welcome to day 1 of the December Ink to Paper release countdown! It always blows my mind that I'm working on Valentine's Day projects during the Christmas season! LOL! That being said, there are so many fun products that you'll definitely want to be adding them to your Christmas list! My first project for today uses a fun new set, which is so versatile, but can be used for Valentine's Day as well, called All About You. As always, these new products will be available for purchase starting on the 15th!

While this card definitely exudes a "Valentine's Day" vibe, it doesn't necessarily have to be used for that. This set includes so many sentiments that can be used all year long and for so many different occasions. I paired this card with the super fun new die called On the Border: From the Heart. I die cut it three times out of Pale Peony cardstock and glued them together using liquid glue for a nice and sturdy piece. I knew I would be suspending it using foam squares, so I wanted it to have a nice weight to it.

I also die cut some additional hearts from the All About You die collection and stamped them with the plaid image included in that same set. I also used some smaller hearts without any stamping, as you can see above. The plain hearts have a nice coat of Crystal Glaze for some fun detail and shine!

I stamped the "are beautiful inside and out" sentiment onto a white piece of cardstock that was die cut using the Pierced Feature Frames. I also die cut it a second time from Tropical Teal cardstock and added it over a piece of Aqua Mist cardstock that has been die cut using the new Tin Stitched Die. As you may recall, I used this last month before it was released (woops), but now it will finally be available for purchase!

The "you" word is die cut three times using the dies from the All About You die collection and then adhered using liquid glue. I added it very strategically to the opening of the large heart using liquid glue.
I added a few sparkling clear sequins for sparkle and shine. The entire Aqua panel is adhered to a top folding A2 card base using foam squares!
Next up is a sweet little project using the new Cup of Love stamps and dies! This creates the sweetest shaped cards that are sure to delight the recipient! I made two identical cards because they are just so fun and work up so quickly!

I die cut the shaped cup card using Mint Julep cardstock with the addition of the Pale Peony stamped portion. This sentiment is included in the Cup of Love stamp set and fits so perfectly inside this die cut.

I was so excited about all of the "additions" that are included in this die collection that I decided to add them all! LOL! I just love how the sparkly lemons look tucked at the top adorned with the flowers and leaves.

The tag for tea is just so cute as well and I adorned it with a heart from the All About You die collection. The Cup of Love stamp set does have a heart stamp, but I love how it looks die cut from pattern paper and popped up on the tag. I threaded it with crochet thread and attached it to the inside of the card with cute washi tape that coordinates with the project.

The finishing touch is some sequins here and there! Thanks for fluttering by!
