Papertrey Ink May Release Countdown Day 4

It's the 4th and final day of the Papertrey Ink countdown! I'm sharing more baby inspiration today and a card using a fun new set called Birdhouse Bliss!

This card features the new Iconic Baby stamp/die set. It is just like the other "iconic" sets where it comes with tiny images and an image or two to dress up envelopes.

The inspiration for this card was actually the envelope that I made for another card I'm sharing today. I snuck it in this photo and covered up the part that coordinates with the other card! ha ha!

I forgot how much I love this color combination: Spring Moss and Aqua Mist....the first two colors of ink and paper from PTI!

The sentiment is from the new Larger Than Life: Baby stamp set.

I gussied up the inside using the new Inside Greetings: Welcome stamp set and a few images from the Iconic Baby stamp set.

This baby card features the new From the Heart Hot Foil plate.

I also used the new Line it Up: Baby dies and a heat embossed sentiment from the Just Sentiments: Welcome.

I was itching to make a "bundle" of geraniums using the new Into the Blooms: Geraniums, so that is what I did for this card.

I added a few clusters of images from the Iconic Baby stamp set.
Another sentiment included in the Inside Greetings: Welcome for the inside!

My third baby card for today uses another one of the Line It Up: Baby sentiments. I used the Love to Layer: Hearts die as the focal point to reinforce the heart theme with the foiled background!

I added the cute little bear image to the "o" in welcome for some added whimsy!

You can see the shine of the foil better in this photo; I used tone on tone paper and foil for a classic look. I used medium heat for 20 seconds to foil the bacckground!

I'm absolutely smitten with the cute summer outfit image and the cute sandals.!

I had so much fun working on these baby cards! My stash is now fully stocked!

Here is a close-up of the inside; the last of the three sentiments included in the Inside Greetings: Welcome stamp set.

My final card for today and the release features the cutest new set called Birdhouse Bliss! I have used every single thank you card in my stash, so I decided to add a gratitude sentiment. I really wanted to make a welcome to the neighborhood card, but I needed a thank you card more! ha ha!

To begin this card, I die cut all of the pieces (twice) included in the Birdhouse Bliss set. I had so much fun inking them all up, but when it was all said and done, I didn't use very many! ha ha!

I cut a panel of Spring Moss cardstock and stamped the images in the corners using the new Corner Decor stamp set (I think I used that on every card but one) . I die cut a panel of Aqua Mist cardstock using the new Elegant Edges: Fresh Cut dies and then added a circle from the new Love to Layer: Charming Brackets.

I stamped the sentiment in black and then had fun adding the birdhouses, bird, greenery, etc.
I layered it onto a white top-folding A2 cardbase using glue. The new release will be available for purchase tomorrow at 10 PM ET. Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink May Release Countdown Day 3

It's day THREE of the Papertrey Ink May release countdown! I have a baby card and then another card using the new Vase Collection 18 stamps/dies! My first card uses the new Baby Background stamp that I heat embossed in white onto Lilac Grace cardstock.

I paired it with the new Larger than Life: Baby stamp set and a few more Corner Decor images. I can't seem to quit with the flowers, either, so I added a few in two of the corners.

The new Vase Collection 18 stamp set is a line-art set so it's perfect for those of you who like to color. If not, it also comes with solid images to stamp them if you're so inclined.

I chose to use ink and a blender pen from SU! (not sure if they still carry them) to color the flowers and leaves.

I used more corners.....yes, I'm obsessed!
I used the previously released Fanciful Flowers for the background.

Join me again tomorrow for a BIG post with all of the day 4 goodies! Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink May Release Countdown Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink May release countdown! Today's cards feature some really fun new products geared to the military! I really like the fun twist on patriotic this year because the new products mix and match so well with the previously released American themed products!

I have a funny (almost not funny, though) story to share with you about this card. I wanted some military inspiration so I headed to Pinterest and typed in Military aesthetic. Up popped a gorgeous uniform all decked out with sashes and pins, and beautiful belts with gold accents! Bingo....a wealth of inspiration and lots of design possibilities using the featured products for today!

I got to work embossing, and die cutting and stamping and I just couldn't resist showing it to my daughter who had entered the room! I told her my inspiration was a beautiful uniform and I quickly showed her! Her face crumpled up and said," Mom....what COUNTRY is that uniform from?"....I scrolled down a bit to read the description.....RUSSIA!!!! I just about died! LOL! I quickly searched for AMERICAN dress uniform and with a few touches of blue and heat embossing on blue, it took a more patriotic turn! ha ha!

Surprisingly, the American uniforms aren't much different and I really like how this turned out! I was especially excited to see how well the Corner Decor worked for this military inspired design!

The Our Heroes stamp set comes with some fun sentiments, different badges, stars, etc. I think it is going to be a great addition to my patriotic stamps/dies!

My second card for today uses the new Footlocker die collection; I also paired it with some of the stamped images from Our Heroes and the previously released United States of America die.

This die collection comes with A LOT of pieces, so I took an organized approach and die cut all of the pieces for each individual element, glued it together and set it aside. I placed the dies back in their storage pocket as I used them to keep things tidy.

I love the cute boots; they remind me of some boots I had for my Ken doll growing up! ha ha! They're so cute in miniature form, don't you think?

I used silver specialty paper for the dog tags for realism. This was a fun card to put together! Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink May Release Countdown Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the Papertrey Ink May countdown! I'm sharing two cards with you today and up first is this floral card using the new Into the Blooms: Geraniums die paired with the new Psalm Reflections: May stamp/die! There are a few other new goodies that I will talk about as I explain how I created this card!

To begin, I die cut all of  the pieces that are included in the Into the Blooms: Geraniums die collection 3 times so I would have enough to create the arrangement I was hoping for. In the end, I wasn't able to lay the card out how I envisioned, but it was sure fun to have all of those pretty blooms and leaves to play around with! I colored them with Distress Oxide inks to bring them to life.

I heat embossed the Psalm using white detail powder onto a panel of Sweet Blush cardstock. I also heat embossed the extra details at the top and bottom of the sentiment; these are separate stamps that are included with this month's Psalm and there are coordinating dies to cut them out.

I used the new bracket collection that will be showcased tomorrow (shhhh.....) to die cut the sentimnent. I just really liked how well it fits this particular sentiment!

I cut a panel of Mint Julep cardstock and then layered the scalloped frame over the top that was cut using the previously released Border Bling: Scalloped Frame using liquid glue. From there I was able to stamp the cute corner details using the fun new Corner Decor stamp set. I didn't realize how much I was going to love this seemingly simple new set; I have used it on almost all of my cards so far!

Once that was done, I was able to add the sentiment panel using foam squares, the extra details to the top and bottom of the sentiment, and then arrange the beautiful geraniums. I plant geraniums every year, so t was fun to make these paper varieties! I can't wait to use them all summer long! I particularly enjoy putting flags in my pots of red geraniums every July, so that will be fun to make something similar with paper! I added glitter and sequins to finish off this floral design!

Up next is a baby card using the new Baby Bibs dies paired with the new Just Sentiments: Welcome, AND, you guessed it: Corner Decor! ha ha! I die cut the main bib portions using Bitty Big: Pink Posey pattern paper and then glued it together using foam squares. I wanted to enhance that this is a bib with a pocket, so that is why I used the foam squares. There is a separate die for the tie and the lace around the edges; there are quite a few options for different ways to decorate the bib, but I chose the tie and the lace.

I stamped "Hello Sunshine" on the front of the bib and the glued the flowers and leaves to the bottom; these are dies that are included in the Baby Bib Dies collection. I set the bib aside and got to work on the rest of the card.

I cut an A2 panel of striped Bitty Big: Pink Posey paper and then stamped the sentiment, which is also included in the new Just Sentiments: Welcome stamp set, in black. I layered the frame over the top and then placed the bib in the center using foam squares.

I put together some flowers and leaves using the Into the Blooms: Blossoming Beauties that I was planning on using for another card, but they looked so cute tucked in the corners, they just had to stay! I also added some additional corner details to each cluster and the opposite corners using the new Corner Decor.

I added some glitter for some sparkle and shine!

As you visit the other designers' blogs, you will see all of the different options for the bibs....so many possibilities! Join me again tomorrow for day 2 of the countdown! Thanks for fluttering by!

For Mom + more Gingham Inspiration!

Happy Saturday, friends! I'm popping in today to share the card I made for my Mom for Mother's Day and a few tags that I made using the new Gingham Gorgeous from Bath and Body Works as inspiration!
I happened to be sick during the release where we used Mother's Day products, so here I am at the last minute getting something put together! Please note: this card was HEAVILY inspired by a beautiful card that I saw HERE; I loved the gate-fold design, the MOM down the center and the washi touches!

I decided to take a more colorful approach to highlight the beautiful Hydrangea and Rose washi tape; my mom loves these citrus hues, so I hope she likes it!  I cut a piece of Green Parakeet cardstock measuring 11 by 4 1/2 and then scored it at 2 3/4 on each end and then folded the flaps to the middle.

I also die cut the Modern Blooms die (retired) out of the same Green Parakeet cardstock, cut it in half, and then glued it on either side of the opening lining up the blunt cut for precision.

I adhered the washi tape to a 4 1/4 by 11 piece of white cardstock and then die cut it using the coordinating Hydrangea and Rose die and set the pieces aside. I just HAD to buy the Jeff Alpha die; that is what originally caught my eye on the inspiration card! I die cut the shadow from white cardstock and then the detail portion out of Sweet Blush cardstock. I layered them together using foam squares and then added them to the left side of the opening at the half-way point.

Once that was done, I fiddled around with the placement of the washi tape pieces until I was satisfied with the arrangement. You can see in this photo that I actually layered two of the clusters together on the right side until I was happy with the way it looked! I heat embossed the sentiment using the Larger than Life Mom stamp set and then glued it under the "o" in  MOM.

I gussied up the inside with the same stamp set and another left-over flower cluster!

If you stopped by the other day, then you probably saw my birthday card I made using the new Gingham Fresh as inspiration; this time I used Gingham Gorgeous as inspiration! I'm giving a few ladies in the neighborhood a little Mother's Day gift, and I included some of the Gingham Gorgeous products! Lucky for me, the Blossoms and Berries washi tape is a match made in heaven!

I made 4 tags in total, but I'm only sharing three since the 4th is almost identical to one of these. I adhered and die cut the washi exactly as I did for the Mother's Day card. I set the pieces aside and then got to work on the tags.

I used my most favorite tags: the Essentials: Classic Tags with fillable elements! These are nice and big and you can customize them with all of the the different fillable elements; I chose this lattice-y look for today! I used a diagonal striped stencil to create the soft blush gingham on the background. It's hard to see, but it's there; soft and sweet like it looks on the lotion and soap packaging.

From there I was able to decorate them with the washi pieces; this one features the large wreath.

The sentiment is from the Blossoms and Berries stamp set and is perfect for these tags. Since these ladies aren't MY mom, but I want to celebrate them, I though this worked!

I'm also obsessed with this gingham ribbon I found at Hobby Lobby; the perfect finishing touch!

This is a "for me" photo. (wink)  I made these for the 7-11 year old boys' group at church to give to their moms for Mother's Day. I had them make little Shrinky Dink charms to attach to the ring; they turned out really cute! Anyway, I added them because I wanted to remember that I did this! ha ha! Thanks for fluttering by!
