Papertrey Ink April Release Countdown Day 3

I can't believe we're halfway through the Papertrey Ink April release countdown! It's been a whirlwind and I hope you're loving this beautiful new release! I have quite a bit to share with you today using the gorgeous new Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers Die and I can't seem to stop with the Regal Flourish Hot Foil Plate or the ladybugs and bees; I knew they were going to be fast-favorites! 

To begin, I added the foiling to a panel of Vintage Cream cardstock with champagne foil. I love this foil the most because it's gold, but not super yellow! I used the smallest die included in the new Reflections: Exodus 14 Die and anchored it in the middle of the foiled design using foam squares. 

I cut all of the flowers and leaves from white cardstock and then colored them with blender brushes. I glued them together with foam squares and liquid glue. I die cut the small and medium-sized ladybugs from black cardstock (legs, body, and spots) and the outer shell from white and then colored it with Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel ink. I added some yellow ink to a scrap of cardstock and then die cut the yellow portions for the side of the head. I glued them together and then gave them, and the flowers and leaves, a spritz or two of fossilized amber distress oxide spray.

I arranged the flowers and leaves and then placed the ladybugs. The sentiment, which is from the Just Sentiments: Bloom Mini Stamp Set, is stamped in black onto a mat cut using the Just Tags Die. I added it to the bottom right corner using foam squares and then added some sequins and gems.

If you look closely, you can see that I added the gems over the top of the larger sequins for something different. I seem to get stuck in ruts and so this was a fun alternative to some of my ruttish behavior! ha ha! I added glitter to the leaves and flowers for additional sparkle and shine!

I layered the foiled panel to an A2-sized piece of Pure Poppy cardstock using foam squares and then attached it to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue.

My next card features the new Reflections: Exodus 14 Stamp Set, Die, and Outline Die paired with the Pressed Flowers. Of course the foiling and bee had to make an appearance as well!

I heat embossed the scripture verse in gold and then cut it out using the ouline die. The two Spring Moss mats are cut from both sizes included in the Reflections: Exodus 14 Die and are layered together for depth. The flowers and leaves are colored the same as the previous card, along with the bee.

The largest mat fits nicely in the foiling, which I'm so excited about! I can't seem to stop with this combination!

My next card was inspired by a bouquet of real pressed flowers in an antique frame. I chose a few of the flowers included in the set and then a few stems to attach them to. You really can have fun mixing and matching things to suit your needs! 

I cut the flowers from white and then colored them with ink and blender brushes. I spritzed everything with fossilized amber distress oxide spray for added detail.

The largest die included in the new Reflections: Exodus 14 is the perfect size and shape to mimic the look of the antique frame the flowers were in. I cut it from Antique Gold cardstock and then added the black oval in the middle using foam squares. It is cut using the middle-sized die included in the Love to Layer: Ovals Die and then I added the flowers using liquid glue and foam squares.

I foiled a large A7 sized panel of Spring Rain cardstock using the new Regal Flourish Frame Hot Foil Plate and champagne foil. I trimmed it down to fit under the FRAME that was cut from woodgrain cardstock. I glued everything together and added it to an A7 sized card base using liquid glue.

I heat embossed the sentiment, which if from the Just Sentiments: Belated Birthday Mini Stamp Set, onto a strip of black cardstock using gold powder.

The new foil plate and flowers are some of my absolute favorites from this release!

I've got another A7 sized card to finish off today's post! I really wanted to create these tiny floral vignettes and this size worked well to execute the design.

The mat on the bottom left side is from the new Love to Layer: Top Notch Die, the other pink one is from the Just Tags Die, and the other two are from the Oval set I linked for the previous card.

I cut the sentiment using the This is Big Sentiments: Strength and then stamped it in black. The companion sentiment is heat embossed with white detail powder.

Papertrey Ink April Release Countdown Day 1

 Hello and welcome to day 1 of the April release countdown for Papertrey Ink! There are some really fun new products that might be able to fill in some gaps your collection might need! For me, I have really been wanting some larger bees to go with some of the larger flowers and my wish has come true! Not only that, but there is also an adorable new Build-a-Ladybug Die as well! Both new die sets come with three different sizes of bees or ladybugs!

My first card for today features the new This is Big Sentiments: Strength Stamp/Die set and the new new Build-a-Ladybug Die. It also showcases the lovely new Love to Layer: Top Notch Die set and a beautiful new hot foil plate!

To begin, I die cut all of the flowers and foliage using the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die and then colored them with dye inks and blender brushes. I also added some fossilized amber distress oxide spray and set them aside to dry.

I used the new hot foil plate with champagne foil onto a panel of Pale Peony cardstock. I added some Hibiscus Burst ink around the edges and trimmed it down just around the edges of the foiled design. I layered that onto a top-folding card base that is cut using the Nesting Basics: Pierced Rectangles Die. 

I die cut the middle-sized layer included in the Love to Layer: Top Notch Die from white cardstock and then added it to the Peony layer using foam squares. I added the sentiments; one stamped in black and the companion sentiment is heat embossed in gold.

I arranged the flowers and ladybug using foam squares and liquid glue until I was satisfied with the arrangement. I added glitter to the flowers and foliage for sparkle and shine!

 My second card for today features the new Build-a-Bumblebee Die and the new Wildflower Frame Stamp/Die set!

To begin, I die cut the frame using the Wildflower Frame Die and then stamped it with Vintage Photo distress ink. Once that was done, I colored the image using OLO markers and other alcohol markers in my collection. I also added some white acrylic pen details and some brown marker splatter for an aged, vintage look. I cut the frame out one more time and glued the two together for a sturdy piece.

Once that was done, I got to work on the bees; I chose to use the middle and smallest sized bees for my card. There is another large bee and some legs to add to the bees if desired. I cut the body from Dark Chocolate cardstock and then added some True Black ink around the perimeter. The stripes and wings are cut from white cardstock; I added Harvest Gold ink to the stripes and Spring Rain ink lightly to the wings. I had a bit of fun adding some yellow flocking powder to the stripes for a fuzzy, realistic texture. I adhered the wings using small pieces of adhesive foam.

The sentiment is also from the Wildflower Frame stamp set and is cut using the coordinating die. I layered it onto the smallest die included in the new Love to Layer die set.

For the background, I used the Cover Plate: Honeycomb Die and added some vintage photo distress ink splatter lightly over the top. I layered the entire panel onto a top-folding A2 white card base using foam squares. I added a few sequins for sparkle and shine!

Hugs {Stronger Together}

One of the sweet gals that follows me on Instagram asked if I would be willing to make her sister, who is suffering with cancer, a card! Of course I said yes and got to work making a card for her and another to add to my stash! These two cards are actually similar to another pair I made a few years ago, but this time I chose cool tones to change things up.

To begin the pair, I first used the retired Modern Floral stamp/die from Pinkfresh Studio. I added some additional detail by using color pencils on the leaves and the larger blooms, and a white get pen on the small, darker flowers.

I heat embossed the background using white powder on a white panel and then added the ink around the edges. I die cut the panels out using the Essentials: Stitched Rectangles Die. I really like how nicely the finished edges look!

 I die cut the letters I would need for the YOU sentiment using the Jeff Alpha Die; this is one of my favorite alphabet dies! I die cut them from white cardstock and then added the purple ink using a blender brush. I layered the bouquet using foam squares, used a t-square ruler to place the letters properly.

Both cards feature a heat embossed sentiment; the previous sentiment is from the Simply Sentiments Hello and this one is included in the retired Modern Floral stamp set. I used gold to give both cards a touch of warmth.

I strategically added small dots of glue to the back of the embossing and then added it to the top of the letters.

I had a few bows that were sitting on my desk from a previous project, so I added one to each of the bouquets. A generous spritz or two of shimmer spray, a trio of sequins, and a white card base finishes off the pair of cards. Thanks for fluttering by!

 

The Greetery {I Will Give You Rest}

 

Hello and welcome, friends! It’s hard to believe another year has come and gone, but here we are ushering in 2025! I hope your new year is off to a wonderful start, full of new possibilities and fresh outlooks on your life! As 2024 came to a close, my heart filled with sadness for the many friends who mentioned 2024 was a difficult year for them. My card today uses a sentiment that is so fitting for each of them, and all of us, really! The Strength For Today stamp/die set continues to be a favorite of mine and I find myself reaching for it often! 

To begin this card, I created the background using the Ribbon Maker: Large Scallops Die by die cutting it twice from pink cardstock. I used the edges of the second one to use on the sides and then layered one down the center. I adhered them to a Grey Kraft A2 panel using foam squares for dimension.

I used the Winter Medley Die to create all of the tiny flower clusters. I know I use these quite often, but they are just so cute and so addicting to create! I die cut everything twice and then had fun coloring them with distress oxide inks and finger sponge daubers. I like to add a dot of black pen to the centers of the flowers to give them extra depth.  I use a foam mat and the fine-tipped end of a stylus to give the flowers a cupped shape. I glued them to the greenery using liquid glue.

For the wreath, I used the Magnolia Wreath Die and cut it twice from white cardstock. I used blender brushes and twisted citron, mowed lawn, and rustic wilderness distress oxide ink to color both wreaths. I adhered them together using foam squares and liquid glue. I have found that the oxide ink prevents the foam squares from being tacky enough, so I simply add a dot of liquid glue to the foam squares and allow it to dry. I added the wreath to the background panel using additional foam squares.

Once that was done, I stamped and die cut the sentiment, which is from the Strength for Today and placed it in the center of the wreath. I had fun arranging the floral clusters using liquid glue until I was satisfied with the arrangement. I gave it a quick spritz of Shimmer Spray, added a touch of glitter to the flowers, and attached it to a top-folding A2 card base. I have a few friends in mind that I want to send this particular card to, so that must mean I need to sit down and make a few more! I hope this sentiment brings hope to you as well! The Greetery {Garden Inspired Strength For Today}

Hello and welcome, friends! I'm happy to be here today sharing two cards using the fabulous new Strength For Today Stamp/die set! It’s my favorite from the latest release and I’ve been itching to create some cards to add to my stash. I would love to just take a lazy day and make a whole set of cards using each one of these beautiful sentiments; doesn’t that sound lovely? Autumn is creeping in and I love cozy, crafty days!

To begin my cards, I die cut the foliage, which is from the Bird of Paradise Border Die, and colored it using oxide inks and finger sponge daubers. I also die cut both the moth and the dragonfly using the Jumbo Curiosity: Moth die and the Jumbo Curiosity: Dragonfly Die. There are stencils included so I used those to ink them up.

The background for both cards was done using the Wicker Weave Stencil; I didn’t want a full panel, so I just concentrated the stenciling in certain areas. Once that was done, I trimmed each panel down to an A2 size, added some salvaged patina distress ink with some Tropical Teal ink splatter. I layered the foliage using foam squares and then added the moth/dragonfly.

I die cut all of the sentiment pieces using the Strength for Today die; I wasn’t sure which sentiments I would use for sure, so I just cut them all out! Ha ha! I stamped them with the Strength for Today stamp set using black ink and then added them to the top of the panel using additional foam squares for dimension.

The final step was adding the panels to top-folding A2 card bases using liquid glue. I gave each one a spritz or two of shimmer spray and a trio of sparkling clear sequins. Both of these cards will be added to my stash; these are the types of cards I like having on hand because you never know when someone is going to need a little pick-me-up! Thanks for fluttering by!
