Papertrey Ink Project Inspiration {Hello Fall}

Hello and welcome! It's my turn for this week's Project Inspiration feature from Papertrey Ink ! It's been raining and thundering today, just perfect for creating a card like this! I have step-by-step photos on how I created this card. 

This card was such a joy to create!

Step 1: Cut an A2 panel of Honey Nut cardstock and blend Honey Nut ink around the 4 corners. Foil the panel with Copper Foil using the Fallen Leaves Hot Foil Plate.

Step 2: Use the Wandering Petals Stencil Collection on a piece of Vintage Cream cardstock for both steps. Add some brown ink splatter, and then cut it out using the largest size included in the Love to Layer: Scalloped Ovals. Stamp the "hello Fall" sentiment in black using the Just Sentiments: Happy Fall Stamp Set. If you like more simple designs, you could actually stop here and call it done!

Step 3: attach the oval to the background panel. Step 4: Cut leaves and berries using the  Into the Blooms: Christmas Sprigs Die. Color them with ink and arrange around the oval using liquid glue and foam squares. Cut the pieces for the pumpkin using the Into the Blooms: Fall Boot Die. 

Step 5: cut the pieces for the bird from white cardstock using the So Tweet Die.  Attach it to the foliage.

Step 6: Add glitter for sparkle and shine!

Step 7: Adhere the entire panel to an A2 card base.

I'll share a few additional details on how I created this card. I like to use finger daubers for the bird because it gives me better control for smaller areas. Also, the eye placement and white dot placement are really important for making the bird appear more realistic. 

For the bluish green leaves, I tore the main sprig apart so I could tuck them here and there to balance the color.

For the berry sprig, I colored it using two shades of red ink and then took a brush marker to add in the brown on the stem. I also added the dots and used a white get pen for some highlights. It really does enhance the overall look of the branch.

I used a 2way glue pen when I add glitter because it gives me control to add it lightly here and there and there isn't any gloppy mess.

Project Inspiration {From Our Patch to Yours}

Hello friends! I'm happy to be here today sharing a fun autumn card that was created for this week's Project Inspiration for Papertrey Ink. When the Above Ground Die was released, my mind raced with all kinds of possibilities of different "fillers" for the raised garden bed. One of those ideas was to make a pumpkin patch....the pumpkins from the Into the Blooms: Fall Boot Die are the perfect choice!

I used some other older projects to pull the design together to help create the vision I had in mind.

I will be sharing step-by-step instructions on how I created this card!

Step 1: Create a white top-folding A2 card base. Add a panel of gingham cardstock measuring 4 by 5 1/4 inches with the corners rounded.

Step 2: Cut the oval using the Love to Layer: Scalloped Ovals Die from white cardstock. I added the cloud detail using the cloud stencil and tumbled glass distress oxide ink. I stamped the sentiment using the Just Sentiments: Spooky Stamp Set in black. The oval is attached to the background using foam squares.

Step 3: I die cut all of the pieces I would need for the garden box and greenery using the Above Ground Die from white cardstock. I colored the greenery using a blender brush and dye ink and the box was colored with distress oxide inks and sponge daubers. I assembled the box using liquid glue and then attached it to the oval using glue as well.

Step 4: Cut the pumpkins, stems, and leaves using the Into the Blooms: Fall Boot die (linked above). Color them with Harvest Gold and Canyon Clay ink for the pumpkins and the leaves are colored using Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse ink. Tuck them into the pumpkin patch using foam squares.

Step 5: Add some flowers here and there until you're satisfied with the arrangement.

Step 6: Cut one of the labels that's included in the Above Ground Die and stamp the "welcome to my garden" sentiment using the Above Ground Stamp Set with black ink. Attach it to the garden box using foam squares.

I mentioned when this die set was released that the box itself is three dimensional but it can fold over when you put it in the envelope! I always think little details like that make the recipient smile just a little bit more.

There are two different options to decorate the box; I chose the three slats in front, but there is also a lattice option that would be fun to use, too!

There another sentiment that I was toying around with using; it is the sentiment from the Farm Fresh Pumpkins Stamp Set. I can't wait to try using it on another card similar to this!

The Greetery {Hint of Autumn} Day 2

My first project for today features the beautiful new Wild Wetlands Die paired with some of the other basics showcased yesterday. I also used the Autumn Herbarium 3D embossing folder on this card.

The Wild Wetlands Die comes with one main base cluster; similar to the Best Bouquet Die from the Jubilee collection. It also comes with the different flowers, some stems and leaves, and the cattails.  This allows you to create a multi-color piece with beautiful detail and dimension. Make sure to follow the assembly guide on the back of the packaging so you get everything adhered in the proper order; believe me, it's important!

I used distress oxide inks to color the image, but you could use different colors of cardstock as well. I really enjoy cutting everything from white cardstock and then adding color with ink and sponge daubers, but the choice is yours, of course!

I used a beautiful Rose Gold foil on the border using the Capsule Cameo Collection Basics Hot Foil and Die. The sentiment is from the Autumn Cameo Stamp Set and coordinating Die.

For the background, I used the new Autumn Herbarium 3D embossing folder and then added some gold ink over the raised portion to bring out the beautiful detail.

This card also features the embossing folder, but I also used the Autumn Herbarium Background stamp, stencil, and Die. I just love how they all work together to create these beautiful leaves!

To begin, I stamped the stems using the Autumn Herbarium Background stamp with gold pigment ink. Next, I added the color using the coordinating stencils. Once that was done, I lined everything up in the embossing folder. The final step is to cut them out using the coordinating die. Now, please note: you can leave them on a panel and use it as a background, or go one step more and add the embossing, but you don't NEED to cut them out if you just want a beautiful, multi-colored leafy background!

I wanted to cut them out so I could use the new Label It Die with the coordinating leaf names. My favorite part might just be the tiny pins; I cut those from gold cardstock.

I also used the new Oblong Octagon Labels Hot Foil Plate and coordinating Die. These are such great basics and I can't wait to use them on all kinds of projects!

My final card for today features the new Mushroom Meadow Stencil Collection. There is a coordinating Hot Foil Plate that gives the stenciled background additional foiled details. I didn't use it on my card, but I bet Betsy or the other designers will probably have some projects using it!

As you can see, I couldn't stop with the leaves, so this card uses those as well. I stamped the stems with a darker ink for a different look than the last card, but the process was still the same.

I really love the new Capsule Collection Floral Borders Stamp set, so I wanted to incorporate that and some hot foiling on this card as well.

This card doesn't use traditional autumn colors, but these colors are still found in the autumn landscape. I always like working with new color combinations, especially when we can get set in certain color schemes for particular holidays/seasons!

This sentiment is included in the Oblong Octagon Label Stamp Set and is heat embossed in gold on Pure Poppy cardstock. You can also see the border a little bit better here as well.1

The Greetery {Hint of Autumn} Day 1

It's always a good day when you're introducing a new release from The Greetery! This collection is called Hint of Autumn and it is just lovely; full of wonderful basics that will transcend beyond autumn and of course, beautiful stamps and dies that hint of the upcoming season!

My first card is a shaped card using the beautiful new Capsule Basics Die. This coordinating with the new Capsule Borders 1 Hot Foil that I have also used on this card.  Please note: this is  A LARGE card. This will be perfect to layer onto a 5 by 7 card base if you aren't doing a shaped card. My next card shows how it looks.

Of course there are multiple sizes included in this nested dies and hot foil assortment. 

Now, the star of the show on this card is the beautiful new Capsule Cameos: Autumn Stamp Set and Die. I just love how you can layer the two images to create this scene.

The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and then die cut using the Capsule Cameos Sentiments Die.

I was thrilled with how beautifully the Capsule Borders 1 hot foil comes out! This is one of the hot foil collections that I will be using again and again, all year long!

Please note: the Capsule Cameos: Autumn Die only cuts out the middle of the design, so you will need to use it on the center of a card or use one of the Capsule Basics Die to use it like I have here.

For the shaped base, which you actually can't see, I folded a 5 by 7 card and then used the Capsule Basics Die just overlapping the fold. I glued the focal background piece onto the shaped base. 

My next card is the same size, but added to a 5 by 7 card base. This card features the Thankful and Blessed stamp+ Stencil & die. It is so lovely and I just love everything about it!

For this card, I placed a 5 by 7 panel of Vintage Cream cardstock into my MISTI and used the 3 step stencil collection to do add the flowers and leaves. Once that was done, I used the coordinating stamp to add the stems and darker leaves.

 I used the coordinating size of die from the Capsule Basics die to cut it out. I set it aside to do some additional foiling and die cutting.

I used Stormy Sea cardstock for the biggest layer and the sentiment layer. I just love the foiling paired with the scalloped die.

I heat embossed the "gather and give thanks" portion of the sentiment and then cut it out using the Thankful and Blessed die.

The "Let us" and "For the Lord is Good" portion of the sentiment is stamped directly on the panel and then I layered the die cut sentiments using small bits of foam tape. There are a few little stems and sprigs included in the stamp/die set so I added those to frame the sentiment. It is all layered onto a 5 by 7 card base using foam squares.

I also wanted to show you how nicely these basics work with everyday cards as well. This card features the beautiful and versatile new Capsule Collection Floral Borders Stamp Set. This does not include a die because the Capsule Collection Basics Die has the dies that work.

There are also some beautiful all-occasion sentiments included in the stamp set; I chose Thanks so much!

I can't seem to stop with this particular bouquet! ha ha! This one is the Best Bouquet and it truly is, the best!

This almost has a German or Swiss look when it was all said and done!
