Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge {hip, hip, hooray}

I'm excited to say that I am completely finished will all of my graduation cards for this year's graduates! Today I'm sharing an unconventional graduation design for this month's Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge! You can read all about the challenge HERE.  I don't own any Reverse Confetti "graduation" stamp sets, but I didn't let that stop me from making something fitting for the occasion! 

 It's always fun to make graduation cards using the school colors of the graduate, so that is how I started off today's design. I felt like it would say "graduation" just with the school colors being present. I die cut the Triangle Cover Panel and then layered it over the top of the blue pattern paper from the Warm Hearts 6 by 6 paper pad using foam squares. I love adding a lot of dimension to simple cards to make them pop. 

I haven't had a reason to use the new Hooray and Cheers Word Duos Confetti Cuts so I was happy to use the "hooray" one for Today's design. I die cut it 3 times and glued them together using liquid glue. I adhered it to the blue tag base that was die cut using the Grid Stitched Tag Confetti Cuts.  l love how it pops out against the blue cardstock. Once it was adhered to the tag, I added a layer of Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the top to make it shine. Since it is for a young man, I didn't want to add any unnecessary sparkle, but wanted to add a little bit here and there where it was fitting.

The three sentiment strips are heat embossed in silver and then added to the tag base using foam squares. Each of these sentiments is from the Word Up stamp set. I have used this particular set SO much since I got it! I just love all of the different sentiments that it has! It really made this card possible with each of these fun and perfect sentiments.

Once I had added all of the black, I decided to layer the entire panel onto a piece of black cardstock to give it a small border. I really like the definition it adds to the design. This portion is slightly larger than a standard A2 card, but the base that I layered it onto is just a standard size. I tied a bow of silver cord to give it some added detail. Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge {I believe in you}

Have you had a chance to play along with this month's Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge? If not, you'll definitely want to join us this month, especially for a chance to win! This month's theme is Encouragement and Congratulations! I decided to make an encouragement card to add to my stash! This particular sentiment, which is from the Mod Floral Stack stamp set, is so versatile in who this card be used for.

I knew I wanted to use the Cotton and Thistles stamp set and there is a fabulous sentiment in that set that says "know that I care" which I almost used, but in the end felt like the sentiment I used was more encompassing, if that makes sense! LOL! Anyway, to begin, I stamped the jar image using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using silver powder. Once it cooled, I die cut it using the coordinating Cotton and Thistles Confetti Cuts and set it aside. 

I stamped the floral bundle in black and colored it using Copic markers. I added some brown marker splatters using my Color Spritzing tool to the cotton pieces to give it some realism. I also added some Wink of Stella to the blooms for some shine. Vellum can pose some trick issues when it comes time for assembly, but the sentiment placement was a saving grace! LOL! I added some liquid glue to the embossed portion of the jar neck and secured it over the bouquet. That still left the jar flapping in the wind a little bit, so the sentiment really made it possible to add some extra adhesive! I also tied some jute twine around the bottle neck for some extra detail.

I think this soft yellow and purple/grey color combination are really soothing and perfect for an encouragement card. I used the Grid Stitched Tag Confetti Cut on a piece of yellow pattern paper from the Pattern Play 6 by 6 paper pad. I die cut it again using some white cardstock so that I could double stack it for sturdiness. The purple and grey papers are from the Fun Times 6 by 6 paper pad and are adhered to a panel of white cardstock that has been die cut using the Stitched Rays Coverpanel. I did some zig zag machine stitching along the side for some added detail.

The sentiment is stamped in black and added to the card using foam squares. The entire focal piece is layered onto an A2 top folding card base using foam squares as well. I added a trio of sparkling clear sequins for some added shine. Thanks for fluttering by and I hope to see your card in the gallery!

Stock your Stash {grateful for our friendship}

It's time for this month's card for the Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge! You can read all about it on the Reverse Confetti Blog! This month the theme is "Thanksgiving and Friendship" so the sky is the limit, really! I hope you get a chance to play along, and remember, there is a $20 prize up for grabs, so that is always fun! 

I love traditional Autumn colors, but I also love the beautiful reds and purples that make their appearance this time of year as well. I wanted to create some lovely florals using these colors!

The Pattern Blocks stamp set was the perfect choice because of the beautiful floral image, but also the fabulous sentiment! I stamped it in black and then got to work coloring it using quite an assortment of Copic markers. I love how this image comes alive when the color gets added! Once it was all colored, I matted it onto a piece of white cardstock that was die cut using the Stitched Squares Confetti Cuts. 

I also used the beautiful bouquet and jar from the Cotton and Thistles stamp set. It is one of my new favorites and I knew the colors would work perfectly on today's card. The jar is heat embossed in silver onto a piece of vellum. the bouquet is stamped in black and colored with Copic markers as well. I used the coordinating Cotton and Thistles Confetti Cuts. 

I didn't color the portions of the floral image that had what appeared to be berries. I decided to add some Nuvo drops in two purple tones for some added interest.

The sentiment is heat embossed in silver. I felt like the background could use some extra detail, so I used the Triangles Coverpanel with an embossing mat for some texture. I love being able to use these products in multiple ways! I also added some sparkling clear sequins here and there for some shine. I hope you'll join us this month and get some cards for your stash! Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge {Eeek!}

I've got a spooky card for you today for this month's Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge! I think I may have mentioned {a few hundred times} that I LOVE Halloween so I was excited to see that this month's theme included Fall/Halloween! Today's card features a fun way to use these awesome sentiments from the Boo Yea stamp set! I also have to give a shout out to my fellow Teamie Amy Rohl, who is also sharing her SYS card today. She used this same sentiment set in a very awesome way so make sure to check it out! I love it when a stamp set can be stretched to be more than it appears!

As soon as I saw the "Eeek!" sentiment, I knew that it would make a great spider body. I had originally planned on making some treat spiders during the release, but ran out of time. I decided to try a spider out on a card for the challenge. I picked up some orange and black chenille stems at the Dollar Tree when they first made their Halloween appearance this year and picked them up not knowing how they would be used, but they ended up being the perfect little spider legs!

I cut 6 pieces of stem and then bent them as identical as I could. I die cut two Midnight circles using the Bags and Tags Creator. I  stamped and heat embossed the "eeek!" one and then used the second one to position the spider legs. Once they were in position, I added the embossed one over the top using foam squares. I added a cluster of googly eyes for some extra "eek" factor!

The background is created by die cutting the Triangles Cover Panel and then layering it on top of a blended panel. Before I layered it, I die cut the square portion out of the background using the square die cut from the Bags and Tags Creator (linked above) and then used it to mount the spider. It really gives the spider added definition since the spider is black. The spider has a web of black baker's twine and is attached using scotch tape. I also heat embossed one of the fun sentiments from the Frightening Friends stamp set! This was such a fun card to make and sometimes when I think of an idea, I just have to make it or I will keep thinking about how it will turn out! I hope that my point came across! ha ha! Stock your Stash-Birthday Greetings

I'm super excited to be participating in my first "Stock Your Stash" challenge for Reverse Confetti! It is the new challenge that replaced the SFYTT challenge. You can read about it HERE and get your own card linked up in the gallery! I can't wait to see what you make! The purpose of this challenge is to get your stash filled up with all of the cards you like to send! This month's theme is "Birthday"!

The funny part about my card is that it won't even make it into my stash...I made it specifically for my son's teacher's birthday coming up in a few days! LOL! I used an unexpected combination, I feel, but it goes perfectly with some Bath and Body Works goodies that I got for her! I always love using the gift as inspiration! It also makes for a very cohesive looking presentation as well!

To begin, I stamped and heat embossed two of the floral images from the Tall Blooms stamp set. After they were heat set, I colored them using some Copic markers in soft colors. I really like how the Copic coloring looks paired with the gold embossing. You can see another card from the recent release using this same technique and a very similar feel HERE. 

I die cut the Diamond Stripe Confetti Cut out of Sand cardstock. This rivals Kraft cardstock and I might just be falling in love with it more and more each time I use it! I heat embossed the floral image onto the center square portion of the die cut using one of the amazing images from the Pattern Blocks stamp set. I knew right away that Tall Blooms and Pattern Blocks would be a match made in heaven! I die cut the center square portion twice since embossing warps the paper. It gave me a place to adhered the embossed piece nice and flat. I popped it up using foam squares for some added dimension.

I planned on making a 4 1/2 inch square card, but decided to keep that extra portion hanging down to heat emboss the sentiment. I also added a few self-adhesive gems for some additional detail and shine. I hope you get a chance to play this month and thanks for fluttering by!
