Tuesday Ideas {Merry Christmas}

Hello! This week over on the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog we're all getting "artsy" and pulling out our stamps with an artistic flair! I am still in full-on Christmas mode, so I wanted to use the super fun Sketchy Christmas stamp set. Nothing says artsy to me more than using all the colors of the rainbow, or better yet, the actual rainbow! LOL! I'm sure you all saw the rainbow Christmas card I posted earlier this month and I wanted to see how it would look with these awesome brush stroke trees!

I stamped each of the trees in rainbow order and used the squiggle line as the trunks {where applicable} stamped in black. I love the contrast and dimension that it adds to the look of the trees! I also used the triangle image from the Happy Art stamp set to give the design some added movement and detail. Once that was done, I was still in the artsy mode, so I spritzed the coordinating color ink over each of the trees using my color spritzing tool. 

Each tree got a trio of Nuvo drops for extra detail. I love using them so much and I could just squeeze them everywhere if left unchecked! LOL!

The sentiment is from the Sketchy Christmas set as well and I heat embossed it in silver onto the black card base! I Love the contrast it gives to the design! Thanks for fluttering by!

Tuesday Ideas {Sending Hugs}

Welcome! I'm over on the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog today sharing this quick and easy Valentine's Day idea {or even thinking of you}! I've been having so much fun creating my own custom backgrounds using the smaller images in the stamp sets, so that is what I did today! I stamped one of the smaller heart images from the Love Coupon stamp set using Versamark ink onto a 4 by 5 1/4 inch piece of pink cardstock. I poured Wow! puff white embossing powder over the top and heat set it for a fun, textured look.

I adhered a Pink Doily over the top using some Scor Tape for security. Once that was done, I stamped the "sending hugs" sentiment in black in a random, yet thoughtful way. This particular sentiment is from the Everyday stamp set.

I created a custom tag using the sentiments from the Love Coupon stamp set. The cluster of pink hearts at the end are from the Everyday stamp set as well. They pair so perfectly with the heart image that I used for the background. I added a silver eyelet and a bow of black baker's twine for some added texture and detail.

I finished the design off with a trio of sparking clear sequins for some shine! I hope that you'll try creating your own custom backgrounds using the smaller images included in your stamp sets! Thanks for fluttering by!

Tuesday Ideas {Special Delivery}

I'm over on the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog today sharing this festive Christmas design! I created the background by using the oval/circle image from the newly released Everyday stamp set. I stamped it directly onto the Kraft panel using white pigment ink to create a fun background. I rotated the stamp as I went to give the background some movement and variation.

Once the background was done, I stamped the "Christmas" sentiment, which is from the Oh Christmas stamp set, directly onto the Kraft panel using black ink. I used my MISTI so that I could get a nice impression.

The rest of the images are from the Happy Mail stamp set. I really love how this non-Christmas set works so well to bring in the fun and whimsy of Christmas by stamping it in traditional colors. I also did some machine stitching along the bottom before I adhered it to the white A2 card base.

The holly sprig adds just the right amount of holiday charm without going over board. The finishing touch is a trio of sparkling gems to add some shine. This design could also work well for a birthday or Valentine's day by swapping out the big sentiment and the colors! Thanks for fluttering by!

Tuesday Ideas {A wonderful holiday season}

I used black and white as my main color combination with pops of red and green for a modern feeling design. I like mixing things up to create something unexpected! Thanks for fluttering by!

Tuesday Ideas {Merry and Bright}

 Hello and Welcome! I'm over on the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog today sharing my first Christmas card using their images! I've been waiting on pins and needles to pull them out and the day has finally arrived! The "Merry & Bright" image from the Oh Christmas stamp set was the jumping point for today's design!

I heat embossed the image using gold powder and then colored the letters using Copic markers. I love adding pink into my Christmas designs, especially when paired with the traditional red and green. I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze on each letter and then added some Tinsel glitter from Martha Stewart Crafts over the top of each letter to make it look they got a dusting of snow!

I also tied a bow of red Baker's twine in the corner for some added detail and a pop of color! I also stamped the 2 sizes of pine boughs around the perimeter and added some red and pink Nuvo drops to mimic berries.

The "December 25" image is stamped in black and colored with pink and green Copic markers. I heat embossed the "Happy Mail" image slightly over the top of the black image. I also used the "Special Delivery" image from the Happy Mail stamp set and stamped it in black as well. Once that was all stamped, I added the crystal glaze and glitter to the numbers.

One of my favorite parts of this card, which I didn't even photograph, is the cute "handmade" image from the Happy Mail set. It looks like a bar code, but it says Handmade! Isn't that so cute? I love it! Thanks for fluttering by!

I have three projects to share with you today, the first one is this rainbow birthday ensemble. I had so much fun creating a repeated black and white background using the oblong circle image included in the set. It also has a triangle and a square which are all perfect for creating interesting backgrounds. I did end up by covering most of it up {lol}, but it won't be the last time I give it a try! 

The pillow box is tied up with a tag created using the emboss/resist technique and some rainbow ink blending. I used Distress Ink over the top for a pastel rainbow look, which I love! The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is heat embossed in white onto a black strip of cardstock and adhered to the tag using foam squares. It's all tied up with black and white Baker's twine.

I used the scattered heart image as the focal image of the card front. It is stamped in black on the lined rainbow paper and then the "Happy Birthday" sentiment is stamped below the hearts. I also added some crystal glaze to three of the hearts for some added detail. The finishing touch is a rainbow paper bow!

My second card is CAS with more emboss/resist rainbow blending. Once I had it blended, I used the same ink to add some ink splatters for an artistic look. I also stamped the "brushstroke" image in black onto a piece of white cardstock.

The "sending hugs" sentiment is stamped in black onto a white strip of cardstock and added using foam squares. I also added a thin strip of black cardstock tucked slightly underneath the sentiment strip for some added contrast. It needed something to "ground" it, and this was an easy addition.

I spritzed it with Shimmer Spray for sparkle and added a trio of Rainbow Sparkle Gems from Lucy's cards for some additional color and shine.

My third project uses the single brushstroke image in rainbow order with the hearts stamped in black over the top. 

I love how the gift card has an artistic feel, just like the images in this set. Usually gift cards are hidden inside a card, but in this case, it helps accent the design and brings in another visual element. 

I stamped the "thank you so much" sentiment above and below the gift card for balance. I love unexpected designs like this. I had so much fun using this new set! It is definitely one of those "all around" sets that is perfect for so many occasions! Thanks for fluttering by!

Tuesday Ideas {Autumn Wishes}

I'm over on the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog today sharing this colorful Autumn card! I've been so excited to use this particular sentiment with the amazing leaves from the Fall Colors stamp set for so long! The leaves are finally putting on a show here, so I decided it was time! This card should be a nice surprise for someone to find in their mailbox this week!

Thinking of mailing cards, I have found that if my crafty mojo is missing, I like going to my stash of cards and pulling some to send to friends and family. The simple act of writing in the different cards and expressing my thoughts on paper, really makes my creativity come flowing back as well. I often think of how the recipient will feel when they get their particular card in the mail. I've had so many people call, text, or tell me in person that their card came on a day when they really needed it. That, my friends, means the world to me. It makes me realize that I'm not just "making cards", I'm sending a piece of myself to them when they might need it most! I urge you to also take some time and mail out a few cards this week to someone who might need a pick me up, or just to know they've been thought of!

This particular card will be heading out this week and hopefully bring some Autumn cheer! I stamped the leaves in Fall colors, particularly the colors mentioned in the sentiment with the addition of Olive. I also wanted to bring in some additional color, so I did some ink blending using some Distress Oxide inks. I ran it through my paper crimper, because I just love the texture and interest it can add to my cards. It also brings in additional hues of the particular colors because of the shadows that it creates. Both the corrugated piece and the focal panel were both spritzed with shimmer spray for some shine.

I also did some machine stitching on the left hand side of the white panel for some added interest. The "Fall Leaves" sentiment is stamped in black and the grid image is stamped over the top using grey ink. 

I added some of the splatter images that are included in the Fall Colors stamp set using grey ink as well. The "hi there" sentiment and "autumn wishes" sentiment are both heat embossed using gold powder. This was a quick and easy card, but the corrugated piece, the embossing, and machine stitching make it feel a little bit more special. Thanks for fluttering by!

Tuesday Ideas {Sweet Halloween Treats}

I'm back safe and sound from my absolutely AMAZING trip to Kansas where I got to craft at The Whatever Craft House! I promise I'll tell you more about it in a future post, but for today, I am over on the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog sharing these Halloween treat boxes and tags. 

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays so I like making a lot of things to give to family, friends, and teachers. These pillow boxes are die cut using some festive Martha Stewart Halloween paper that my sister gave me a few years ago. I try and use it sparingly because I love it so much. I was able to get four boxes made from one sheet of double sided 12 by 12 paper.

The tags use the adorable Beware stamp set. I love all of the main circle images as well as all of the cute additional words and images. I was able to pack quite a lot of them into these tags!

I did some heat embossing as well as some regular stamping in mixed inks for an eclectic feel! I also added some silver gems for some added detail! I just love how these tags look all tied up with gingham and stripes! Thanks for fluttering by!

Tuesday Ideas {You inspire me}

I'm over on the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog today sharing this bright and vibrant card! I love mixing patterns but don't do it nearly enough anymore! My sister gave me a gorgeous pad of Martha Stewart pattern paper for my birthday that I used for today's card. 

I stamped and heat embossed the insulated cup from the Coffee Love stamp set twice. Once onto the purple print and then again onto the black. I also heat embossed the little "enjoy" sentiment onto the coffee cozy. 

I brought in a third larger print which I ran through my paper crimping tool. I just love the look of corrugated paper paired with a warm drink design. The flower print is perfect for the insulated cup to nestle into. I also stamped and heat embossed the two patterns above and below the floral print. 

I also stamped the circles from the Positive Thoughts stamp set in black ink. I thought it looked like the wet rings that a cup leaves behind. I also stamped the "you inspire me" sentiment at the bottom of the card base. A few sparkling clear sequins here and there add  some additional sparkle and shine! Thanks for fluttering by!

Tuesday Ideas {Hi There}

Hi! I'm over on the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog today sharing this trio of projects! I've been a little MIA lately, but don't worry, I've been working my fingers to the bone crafting up a storm, so don't forget to stop by this week! There will be all kinds of things to see that you won't want to miss! Also, you can see what I have been up to on Instagram @kellylunceford! 

You can read all about today's projects over on the Precious Remembrance Shop (linked above), but I'll share a few tidbits here as well! These projects used one of my favorite sets;Fall Colors. 

It still feels like Summer here, except the light is changing and the evenings and mornings have that blessed crispness that I love! When I got out to water my flowers in the morning, I know that Fall is in the air! These projects embrace that hint of Autumn without screaming Fall!

I chose to use the early Autumn leaf colors, rather than reds and oranges. I also used the two sentiments that aren't for Fall either. I am saving all of the other sentiments for another upcoming project {or two..wink}.

Tuesday Ideas {Simplicity is Beauty}

Hi friends! I'm here today with my Tuesday Ideas post for the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog! I have all of the details over there, but I'll share a few tid bits here as well!

I've been wanting to incorporate this particular sentiment from the New Day stamp set on a card for quite a while now. I figured the card that I created had better be "simple" in nature or the whole thing would contradict itself! LOL! So...I pondered what is something that is simple, yet beautiful? a RAINBOW! yes...it seems like we all marvel when a rainbow makes an appearance, whether it is after the rain or shining through the sprinkler in the yard! 

I used my MISTI to stamp the paint swoosh image in the various rainbow colors.

The sentiment is stamped in black and I added a few sparkling clear sequins for some sparkle! Thanks for fluttering by!
