Kelly Lunceford (you are here)
For my card, I chose to go with something elegant and feminine. I couldn't resist playing with the Pretty Peonies stamp set. It is so easy to use and has so many wonderful sentiments, including a beautiful birthday sentiment.
I made two versions of the same design with slight differences between the two. I chose a Black, Kraft, and white combination for the first card and a Pool and Stone combination for the second.
To begin, I die cut a panel of Stone cardstock using the Card Front Element Builder as well as a piece of Pool cardstock using the same collection. I also die cut a large rectangle from the center of the scalloped Pool piece using the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle Sugar Cuts. Once that was done, I centered it where I wanted it over the Stone piece and marked the corners with a pencil.
I die cut the same rectangle shape out of a piece of typing paper and lined it up with the pencil marks. I also used my embossing buddy to reduce the static for my gold embossing. I taped the piece down using washi tape and got to work adding the flowers around the perimeter of my cardstock. I heat set it using my heat tool.
After that was done, I had the perfect, crisp edge to line the blude piece back up with. I also erased the pencil marks. I heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of vellum.
For the black version, I embossed the sentiment onto a strip of cardstock. I used the rectangle SugarCuts to stamp a few more flowers using gray or black ink, depending on the design. A few sequins finish it off! Thanks for fluttering by!
