25 Days of Christmas Tags {Days 10-19}

I'm back today sharing days 10-19 of the tags I have made for this year's 25 Days of Christmas Tags! If you missed it, you can see days 1-9 in THIS post! I've had so much fun making all of these tags and I can't wait to see them dressing up all of my packages! It makes me want everything wrapped NOW so I can just stare at them all season long! I guess I need to do more shopping and less crafting!! LOL! For Day 10, I used inspiration from Kim Heggins and her sweet little winter scene she created on her card. I mixed companies on this tag. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and the paper and stamp set is from Lawn Fawn. I colored the image using Copic markers, die cut it using a circle punch and made some snow for Santa Bear's sleigh to coast down. The snowflakes have some jewels from Studio Katia in the centers for some shine. Santa's collar and hat also have some tinsel glitter to mimic sparkly fur! I added a red eyelet at the top and tied a bow of red Baker's twine. Easy peasy!

 I was inspired by Joyce Mehrberg for Day 11. I got this awesome set at Stamping Away so I was thrilled to use it for today since it is Winnie and Walter Day! I loved all of Joyce's greenery, so I used the same images to create a wreath using all of those sweet little sprigs and leaves. I also included a few snowflake images here and there for some added interest. To begin, I die cut the circle and then traced a smaller circle in the middle using pencil to use as a stamping guide for my foliage.

I stamped the word "JOY" in the center and then heat embossed the "this holiday season" sentiment in silver onto a red strip of cardstock. I couldn't resist adding a few white Nuvo drops here and there to mimic berries of some kind.

I chose to use the Tag Sale #4 die to keep up with the circle theme. Oftentimes when I am deciding what die to use, I hold it up against the actual metal of the die and realize that I like my design with gray. So..I used Weathervane cardstock for my tag. I thought it brought out the grey blue of the snowflakes and the silver in the embossing.

This is one of those projects that looks so sparkly and cute in real life, but it was so difficult to photograph. For day 12, I was inspired by Gemma Campbell and her sweet little penguin scenes she created on her tags. I decided to use the super sweet Gingersnaps stamp set that I used on another tag to create my scene. There's just something about pink, red, and peppermint stripes that gets me every time! I added a lot of sugary glitter and crystal glaze to give it the detail I was wanting.

The sentiments from Season's Greetings stamp set highlight all of theses sweet images perfectly. You can see many of the sugary details in this photo.

I layered it all up onto a white die cut rectangle that I die cut with some old Nestabilities dies. I like using these for tags, because they have lots of different sizes and it is easy to give added interest without a lot of fuss.

 I'm not the only one that used Amy Kolling's gorgeous tag as inspiration for Day 13; I've been able to spot quite a few here and there on Instagram, but it is just so festive and fun! This is my take on her sweet tag! This one was so quick and easy, but I really like how it turned out.

Once again, I used the fabulous MIx Ups Pocket Tags for my tag using Stamper's Select White Cardstock. This is my favorite white cardstock and I use it for pretty much everything! I used the Simple Gift Bow Die to create the big red bow. I love the realistic look you can achieve with this die. 

The gorgeous sentiment is from the Penned Elegance: Christmas stamp set. I only wish I could write this beautifully, so I love having this one in my stash to add these beautiful Christmas sentiments to my projects! I added a few {ahem...maybe more than a few} gems here and there for some added sparkle and shine.

This colorful tag was inspired by Stephanie Klauck and her gorgeous ink blended tag for Day 14. My kitchen Christmas tree has a lot of pink on it, so this one will be perfect on a present to go under that tree. I used the newly released Floral Fantasy stamp set from PTI for this tag. I embossed it in white and then did some ink blending over the top using Distress Ink. The thing I love about this particular set is that there are dies for the sentiments.

I splattered some white paint over the top to give it a snowy look and I loved how Stephanie did that on her tag as well. A few sparkling gems finish this simple, yet colorful tag off!

For Day 15, I was inspired by Helen Gullett and her gorgeous Christmas tree tag. I love the sentiment in the shape of the tree, so I decided to use this fabulous set called Let us Adore Him from Taylored Expressions. I was having difficulty locating my oval dies, which was irritating, but ended up using this one instead. It "barely" fit, but I like the shape it gives the tag. 

This tag was so easy to create using Taylor's 2 step design. I added a flannel plaid ribbon bow at the top.

And, as per tradition, a few sparkling gems finish this tag off! LOL!

This cozy tag was inspired by Ardyth Perrcy-Robb and her cute mitten tags. I wanted to keep the mitten theme so I used the Warm and Fuzzy stamp set to create a pair of mittens to add to my tag.

The tag base was created by using the Shaper Shifters: Square 3 die. I like adding different shaped tags to my packages for added interest. I used the Richard Garay Knitted embossing folder to create some added texture to the center of the tag. I added a dusting of white ink on the edges for a snowy effect. I stamped the sentiment onto a red heart that I punched out. A trio of white nuvo drops finish this easy tag off.

Day 17 is one of my favorites, but once again, it proved very hard to photograph! I used the cute bows from Jamie Gracz's tags as inspiration for this design. I used the MFT small bow dies to create the three paper bows. 

The tag base is created using the Pierced Feature Frames. I just left them connected and layered them up onto a white panel for stability. The sentiments are heat embossed in silver and are from the Floral Fantasy stamp set. I love this font paired with these cute bows.

The bows are attached using foam squares and then I hot glued 3 mm silver jingle bells into the centers for some holiday detail.

I put up 6 Christmas trees, but I only put presents under 4 of the 6. Each tree has a different feel and colors, so I love that I get to make all kinds of different tags to coordinate with each tree. This tag was made specifically to go on a gift under my Living Room tree. For day 18, I was inspired by Elena Roussakis and her sweet snowman tag. I love how her sentiment looked like a chalkboard, so that is what I used on my tag.

Once again, I created the background by using the Buffalo Plaid background stamped in grey using the Tag Sale 6 die as my base. I heat embossed the sentiment onto black cardstock using white powder to achieve the chalkboard look. I don't mind if white flecks are left behind because I feel it adds to the look. I created the wreath using a chenille stem from the holiday craft section at Hobby Lobby. I've been making these for a few years now, and I just love the look it adds to my projects. The pinecone detail as well as the ribbon are also from the holiday craft line at HObby Lobby. I love the quick details these give to my holiday crafting.

This is just a bonus tag because I was loving the buffalo plaid background so much. I linked it above. This was quick and easy and it uses some leftover holly from a previous tag.

The candy cane is from Hobby Lobby and I added a few white nuvo drops.

For day 19, I was inspired by Summer Fullerton and her gorgeous tag. I really like the plaid she used on her tag, so that is what I wanted to incorporate on my design. I used the Sending Joy stamp set for my card because it has gorgeous greenery as well as a plaid image. It was perfect for today's tag.

In my main level family room, I use all natural colors on my tree and in my decor, so I made this tag for that tree. I photographed it on red in the picture above, but also wanted to try it without red.

`I created another chalkboard sentiment as well as a plaid bow using the MFT small bow die. I added some zig zag machine stitching as well. The foliage is stamped in natural colors and adhered using foam squares. A few sequins finish up my final tag for today's post! I need to play catch up and get the last few days finished up! Mix it Up #49 {Comfort and Peace}

Welcome! Today I am sharing the card I made for this month's SugarPea Designs Mix it Up Challenge! Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card, so I used this month's color combination for today's design. They are a little on the somber side, which I try and stay clear of for sympathy cards, but they happen to be a favorite of the deceased. I realize that she isn't getting the card, but I think it would bring cheer to her family by seeing her favorite colors.

For today's design, I heat embossed the flowers from the Pretty Peonies stamp set onto a piece of water color paper. Once that was done, I got to work watercoloring the flowers and background using re-inkers. After it was dry, I die cut the entire panel using the largest die from the Card Front Element Builders. I waited until I was done watercoloring to do the die cutting, because I wanted to see if the card front would flatten a bit after all of the watercoloring. It really does help. I added some gold paint splatters using the gold from my Gansai Tambi watercolor set.

The sentiment is also heat embossed in gold onto a strip of grey cardstock and added to the watercolor piece using foam squares. The entire focal panel is mounted onto some fun foam and then adhered to an A2 card base. I can't wait to see your card in this month's gallery! Thanks for fluttering by!

25 Days of Christmas Tags {Days 1-9}

I had so much fun over the weekend starting {and catching up} on Tracey McNeeley's 25 Days of Christmas Tags! I participated on Day 4 as a design team member with Reverse Confetti, but haven't had a chance to do anything else! I was so happy that my weekend was free from other commitments so that I could just focus on getting these done! I'll only be sharing days 1-9 today so that my post isn't a million miles long, so stay tuned for the rest. 

For Day 1, I was inspired by Marge Craft's Tag. I loved how her little bunnies had on some festive sweaters. They reminded me of these sweet mice in the Christmas Critters stamp set so that was my starting point. These stamps have always been a favorite of mine!

I hadn't planned on making three tags for Day 1, but I've kept all of the Christmas Critters dies connected, so it was easy just to get a lot of pieces in one run of the die cut machine, so I put them all to use. I did have to die  cut a few extra pieces, but it just made sense.

The sentiments are from the Christmas Critters sentiment set, and I just love the font and all of the sweet things they say. I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the inside of the mice ears and then added some clear crystal glitter for some holiday sparkle. I also added some extra glaze to the heart in the mug as well.

The bow is from the Corner Adorner: October stamp set and I just love the extra pop of color it gives these tags! I tied them up with Pure Poppy Baker's Twine. I like to add lots of pretty ribbons tied up in bows on my Christmas packages, so I find that a simple slip of twine makes it easy to attach when it's wrapping time!

For Day 2, my inspiration for these two tags is from Enza Gudor. I love the foliage that she used paired with the big red bow. I was having so much fun, I decided to make 2 tags using a potpourri of sets to achieve the look I was going for. The tag bases are die cut from the new MIx-Ups Pocket Tag Dies, from Papertrey Ink. I have used them a TON for many of the tags I've created, however, I didn't use the pocket feature on any of them, but the unique shapes of the tags made me reach for them again and again. 

I had the amazing opportunity to have Taylor {of Taylored Expressions} as a table mate on my trip to Kansas at Stamping Away! She is hilarious, sweet, genuine and we had a grand time! She brought a lot of her new release [at the time} and I fell in LOVE with the Buffalo Plaid Background stamp. I ordered it as soon as it became available and it looks so great with my tags! I've actually used this quite a bit as well, just warning you! LOL! It gives my tags the exact feeling I was hoping to achieve!

The red tag uses the new Forest Floor: Winter stamp set and the sentiment is from the Sentiment Staples: Season's Greetings. The "wishing you happy holidays" portion is stamped onto a strip that is die cut using the Skinny Banners Die. I had mentioned that I was hoping to get a chance to use some of the new PTI sets that I didn't use during the release, and boy have I! It has been so much fun!

This tag uses Corner Adorner: October {linked in Day 1} as well as the label portion from Forest Floor: Winter {also linked above}. The "noel" sentiment is from the gorgeous Penned Elegance: Christmas. I also added some red Nuvo drops on both of the tags for some added color and interest.

By the time I got around to Day 3, I realized that there just wouldn't be time to make multiples tags for each day, so this one is quick and easy, but I love how it turned out! I was inspired by the tag that Emily Midgett made. I really liked the grey buffalo background, so that is what I used in my design. Day 3 was sponsored by Concord and 9th and they had graciously given this set to all of the Stamping Away attendees, so I put it to good use!

I added the greenery and some Nuvo drops around the sentiment circle as well as some dropping down from the top of the tag.  The "may your season be" portion is embossed in silver powder. 

I tied up some flannel plaid ribbon with a bow of True Black Baker's Twine for some added contrast!

 I'd already participated in Day 4 as a Reverse Confetti Design Team member; you can see my tags HERE if you're interested. I decided to make another tag just because I can't seem to put these sweet little Snow Bunnies down! I colored the images using copic markers and then die cut them using the Snow Bunnies Confetti Cuts.

The pattern paper with the words on it is from the Warm Hearts 6 by 6 pad and the pink snowflake paper is from the newly released Winter Solstice 6 by 6 paper pad. I did some machine stitching at the top for some added interest. 

I added some Duck Egg Nuvo Drops here and there to mimic the "flurries of fun"! LOL! I tied this tag up with a length of satin ribbon tied with a jingle bell and twine!

 Not gonna lie; this is one of my favorites! This tag is for Day 5 and I used the tag by Ellen Haxelmans as my inspiration! I loved her beautiful blended background paired with the gorgeously colored images! I chose to use the adorable Gingerbread people from the Gingersnaps stamp set as well as the coordinating Gingersnaps SugarCuts.

I stamped the sentiment directly onto the blended tag using black ink. This particular sentiment is from the Season's Greetings stamp set and I just love all of them! They work perfectly with all of these sweet images!

 The sucker, bow and candy cane have a coating of Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the top. The gum drop and "boy" Gingersnap have glaze plus a sprinkling of glitter! That sentiment requires it, ya know! LOL!

The "snow" is created using the Card Front Element Builders. I added some extra snowflakes using Nuvo drops in varying size.

Day 6 is simple and easy; yay! I was inspired by the tag made by Debbie Marcinkiewicz. I don't even know if "inspired" is the right word; maybe a direct CASE?!? LOL! The sentiment that I used on Day 3 was so perfect that I used it again with a few die cuts!

Day 7 proved a little difficult for me since I don't own any of the Birch Press Design die cuts that most of the designers used. I loved the tag that Jeanne Jachna made. It look like stained glass so I decided to head in that direction!

I heat embossed the Holly image that is from the Botancial Blocks IV stamp set in gold powder to create the stain glass feeling. I colored the image with Copic markers. The sentiment, which is also from the Botanical Blocks set {which is on sale} is heat embossed in gold onto a strip of black cardstock.

I added some white paint flecks over the top for a rustic look. I also added some crytal glaze on top of the berries.

For Day 8, I was inspired by the tag that Jane Taylor made. I loved the blue tones with the beautiful tree! It totally gave me an excuse to use the new Enchanted Forest stamp set.

I die cut two tags from Linen Cardstock using the Tag Sale #6 die and adhered them together. I planned on doing a lot of ink blending, so I wanted to have the stability of a double layer. 

I stamped two of the trees directly to the tag as well as the snowflakes and the sentiment. The main tree is die cut using the Enchanted Forest Dies and popped up using foam squares.

I added a few sparkling gems from Studio Katia using liquid glue for some added sparkle!

The final tag I'll be sharing today is for Day 9! I was inspired by the tag made by Laurie Case. I fell in love with the beautiful foliage as well as the little deer on her sweet tag. I used the amazing Fawn and Flora stamp set for today's tag! I love this one so much and I am so happy I got a chance to use it!

As I was deciding on colors and things for the tag, I happened to try it out against the tag that I made for Day 2 and loved it, so I recreated many of the same elements for this tag.

The Buffalo Plaid, festive foliage and sweet fawn make this one of my favorites so far! I'll be back soon with Days 1-19 {or 20 since that is tomorrow}. Thanks for fluttering by!
