The Greetery {Typed Holiday Greetings}

Hello and welcome! I'm happy to be here today with a pair of Christmas cards using some older favorites paired with the beautiful new Scripted Holiday Sentiments! Oftentimes, when I am working on any given release during the year, I imagine how cute or clever something would be for Christmas/Holiday cards, but I never seem to remember to revisit the idea! I decided to remedy that and got to work on these festive cards using the previously released Vintage Type Stamp + Cut Combo!

To begin, I die cut the typewriter; once from red cardstock and once from black cardstock. I heat embossed the flourish details for each typewriter using silver powder for the red typewriter and gold powder for the black typewriter. I also made sure to die cut the bar at the top and the keys at the bottom with coordinating metallic cardstock for continuity. Since this is a stamp + cut combo, the flourish is included as well as the stamp for the keys. I stamped them in black on white cardstock and then trimmed around the edges so I could line it up from the back and then secure it with tape.

The “typing paper” is die cut from white for the red typewriter and red for the black typewriter for some fun contrast. As I mentioned before, I used the beautiful Scripted Holiday Sentiments Stamp and coordinating Scripted Holiday Sentiments Die. I stamped the scripty sentiments on white paper and then die cut them. The accent sentiments are stamped directly onto the “typing paper” portions. Once I knew where the paper would be coming out of the typewriter, I secured it in the back with additional tape.

The scripty sentiments are added using thin strips of foam tape for dimension. Once all of that was done, I was able to attach the entire thing to Forest cardstock using additional foam squares. I die cut all of the pieces from the BotaniCuts: Juniper Die from white cardstock twice and then inked them up with distress oxide inks and finger sponge daubers. Half of the berries are colored using festive berries and aged mahogany and the other half are colored using antique linen.

I tucked the sprigs here and there on each of the cards using mini foam squares and liquid glue until I was satisfied with the arrangement. The card with the black typewriter got a little letter tied up with ribbon that was die cut using the Sent With Love die and the red typewriter has a tiny gift on the keys that was created using the Gift Galore Die and the Holiday Hatchback Toppers: Luggage Die. I have quite a few of these little accents leftover from the latest release just begging to be put to good use!

I left the background for the red typewriter card a standard A2 size so I simply mounted it to a top-folding white card base, but the other one is trimmed to 4 by 5 ¼ inches and mounted onto Antique Gold cardstock and then layered onto the card base. I added glitter to the foliage for that holiday sparkle I love so much!

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you’ll take some crafty time to use some of those stamps and dies that could work for the holidays, but aren’t necessarily “Christmas”! Have a wonderful day! Thanks for fluttering by!
