You Are My Happy Place

I'm popping in today with a pair of bright and cheery cards to bring some sunshine to your day! I was watching a show on TV last week and one of the women on the show was wearing a bright blouse that inspired me to make these two cards! I just love when inspiration strikes and I couldn't wait to get to work!
To begin, I die cut all of the pieces twice using the Build-a-Butterfly Die from white cardstock. I only ended up using the pieces for each butterfly, the flowers, and leaves. There are quite a few little pieces to really make the butterfly unique and detailed, but I chose to just use the basic pieces today.

I used blender brushes to color all of the die cut pieces. Once all of the coloring was done, I set them aside to create the backgrounds. I ended up really liking how the background turned out on one of my cards from the latest PTI release, so I just copied myself. It also really helped fill the space without needing to add more flowers, which is great if you are pinched for time!

I forgot to mention earlier that I also used the Build-a-Butterfly Stencils; this really allows you to add some quick detail!

Each of the two cards have sentiments stamped directly on the background: one from the Just Sentiments: You're on my Mind stamp set and one from the Just Sentiments: Quotes Mini Stamp Set
For this card, I added the frame around the edge; I wanted to give this one a bit more definition.

Both cards have a generous spritzing of shimmer spray and the one without the border has a trio of sparkling clear sequins for additional shine!

Some of the flowers still had their centers in tact, so I added a few adhesive pearls here and there for added interest. I stacked the flowers using foam squares to add to the dimensional look. I had so much fun bringing the "blouse" to life in a different way! Thanks for fluttering by!
