Ink to Paper June Release Countdown Day 2 {Hugs}

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the Ink to Paper June release countdown! Today is all about HUGS! Isn't that wonderful? Could you use a hug? Today I'll be sending you all a variety of paper hugs, so consider yourself hugged! ha ha! This first card uses a mix of old and new products to create something tropical, just perfect for the "warm hugs" sentiment! It is from the new Just Sentiments: Hugs! There are quite a few combinations of different sentiments that will be perfect for many different types of cards!
To begin this tropical design, I got to work on the water and distant shore. I used the fabulous Text and Texture: Ocean stamp set. I used Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores ink for the water and Classic Kraft for the shore in the distance. Once that was stamped, I die cut it into the oval shape using the Geometrix Oval die and set it aside.

I've been itching to use the super fun Beachy Keen stamp set and it worked out perfectly to pair with the new Flourishing Florals stamp set that we're showcasing today! I die cut all of the palm tree pieces and sun using the Beachy Keen die collection and then stamped everything using my mini MISTI. I added a few white Nuvo drops to the centers for some fun detail.

The new Flourishing Florals stamp set is such a beautiful and unique floral set that is sure to enhance your collection. I used a trio of the different blooms with the die cut leaves to add interest to the tropical design.

Once I had all of the stamped images ready, I used my mini MISTI to add the "warm hugs" sentiment onto the die cut oval. Once that was done, I layered it onto a panel of Aqua Mist cardstock that is die cut using the Border Bling: Tin Stitch die. I also added some Hawaiian Shores ink around the edges for some contrast.

Once that was done, I was able to begin adding in all of the stamped and die cut pieces. This is the fun part where it all starts to come together! I used foam squares and liquid glue to arrange things here and there to set the scene! I also added a sentiment strip that says "to let you know I am thinking of you" across the bottom of the "warm hugs" sentiment using foam strips. The entire panel is layered onto an A2 cards base.
Up next is a card featuring the new To Die For Sentiments: Long Distance Hug paired with the new Inside Greetings: Sending Hugs stamp set. To begin this card, I dry embossed a panel of Winter Wisteria cardstock using the beautiful On the Border: From the Heart frame .
I also die cut the heart portion and added it to the panel using foam squares. The large word die is cut twice out of Lilac Grace cardstock and glued together with liquid glue. I was able to add tiny strips of foam to the larger portions of the word die to give it some dimension.
I had some leftover flowers and leaves from the warm hugs card, so I added them to this card. I really love the bright flowers paired with the muted purple tones! I added a few sparkling clear sequins here and there for added interest and shine.

I die cut a piece of Winter Wisteria cardstock using the Geometrix: Hexagon die and then stamped one of the amazing sentiments from the Inside Greetings: Hugs stamp set. I just love each and every one of these!
My next set of cards uses just the wonderful Inside Greetings: Hugs stamp set. I love heat embossing these beautiful greetings in gold onto vellum for a sheer look! It really allows me to use these large images without impeding the look of the card!

To begin both of these cards, I die cut the super cute jar from the Tag Creations: Joyful Jars dies. I added some ink blending to the bottom of the solid portion to look like water and then some grey ink at the top for the jar lid, but in the end you can't even see it! LOL! The outer portion also has just hint of ink to give it some definition as well! I filled the jar up with the beautiful leaves and blooms from the Birthday Bouquet stamp set. I added extra detail to the daisies with a colored pencil.

I layered the jar and flowers onto the Shape Shifters: Oval 2 die using foam squares. I die cut a piece of Aqua Mist cardstock using the fabulous Border Bling: Tin Stitch die and added some Hawaiian Shores ink around the edges.

I heat embossed two of the different greetings onto vellum using gold powder! I secured them around the entire Aqua panel using clear tape! I added some sequins here and there for some shine!

I just love these sweet sentiments and know they will be used often!

I was trying to come up with something fun to represent a hug, but in the end, a few gatefold cards won! LOL! I die cut the To Die For Sentiments: Hugs twice for each card and then glued them together with liquid glue.

I used Pure Poppy, Canyon Clay, Summer Sunrise, Green Parakeet, Hawaiian Shores, and Winter Wisteria to add some rainbow ink blending over the top.

I continued on with the rainbow theme for the inside of the card as well. I used my old SU! markers to do some selective inking in the same rainbow pattern.

I considered using a belly band to secure the cards, but I'm always worried the recipient won't understand! LOL! The envelope will hold them closed and then they wills spring open when the recipient takes it out!

I hope you've enjoyed today's countdown...all about hugs!  Join me again tomorrow for day 3 of the countdown! Thanks for fluttering by!
