Papertrey Ink November Release Countdown Day 4

It's the 4th and final day of the Papertrey Ink November release countdown and I have A LOT to share! I think you're really going to love the products being featured today! I had so much fun creating all of my projects today!

My first card features the new Cookie Swap dies and this collection is just perfect for creating cards, tags, and more! My daughter and I have been making cut-out sugar cookies every Christmas eve and now my boys join in on the fun! This collection of dies evokes such feelings of happiness and joy and I loved creating each and every project!

The die set includes two dies to create the cookie sheet; I cut three portions of the top piece to really create depth to the cookie sheet for realism. I cut it out of Weathervane cardstock and then assembled it using liquid glue. It also features the cute oven mitt, spatula, plate and of course all of the cute dies to create your Christmas cookies! There is a rolling pin, but I included that on the inside, which I will share later in the post.

The cute little gingerbread boys are actually buttons that I purchased at Hobby Lobby and then I added adhesive pearls over the holes on the stomach. I think the pearls look wonderful as little candy buttons!

I die cut all of the pieces for the cookies from white cardstock and then colored them using distress oxide inks and finger daubers. I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the centers of the Linzer Cookies and then each of the cookies got a touch of glitter as well.

For the background, I cut a panel of Pure Poppy cardstock and cut it using the Cover Plate: Quilted die. I also die cut the largest size included in the Border Bling: Skinny Ric Rac collection and glued it to the quilted panel. I added some Scarlet Jewel ink the to the corners of the ric rac and the quilted panel.

For additional detail, I added one of the ribbons/bows from the Wrap-It Ribbons die to the two corners. The sentiment is one of the companion sentiments from the This is Big Sentiments: Merry Christmas stamp set.

This is the sentiment I wanted on the front, but I just couldn't make it work with the layout I have, but I took some of the extra bits and gussied up the inside! I also added sprigs of holly and berries that are from the new The Bigs Winter Sentiments that was showcased on day 1.

My second card using the Cookie Swap Die is a nod to the delicious Christmas cookies we leave out for Old Kris Kringle on Christmas Eve! I incorporated a few of the recently released products on this card since I sat that release out and I have been itching to use them! 

To begin this card, I used the beautiful Christmas Laurel Hot Foil Plate on a large panel of Ocean Tides cardstock using red foil. I set the heat to the highest setting and set the timer for 25 seconds. I got a perfect result using this formula. I tried it once before with the middle heat setting and 20 seconds and didn't get good results at all. Once that was done, I was able to align the North Pole Mail: Postage Stamp Frame Post Card (largest) where I wanted it and cut it out. I purposely used a larger than A2 panel of cardstock because I didn't trust myself to get the Laurel hot foil lined up perfectly. This allowed me some wiggle room. 

I stamped the sentiment at the top using the darling North Pole Mail stamp set and black ink. I set that aside and got to work on the cookies and cocoa. I cut all the pieces from white cardstock with the exception of the plate and the mug; those are die cut from Pure Poppy cardstock.

I colored and decorated the cookies and cocoa the same way as I did on the first card. I'm especially in love with the green tree cookie....with the exception of the white swirl, this is how I decorate my tree cookies on Christmas Eve with cinnamon imperials and a thick layer of frosting. This would be my FIRST pick of cookies off this plate! ha ha!

I used the beautiful Into the Blooms: Swag Die to gussy up the top of the hot foil wreath. I used a foam candy cane embellishment to decorate the top of the bow.

I used one of the included postmark images to add to the bottom and of course some glitter for sugary sweetness!

My third project using the Cookie Swap dies originally was supposed to be a trio of tags, but eventually morphed into 3 cards! ha ha!

I used the The Bigs Christmas Sentiments stamp set for the sentiments and the greenery and berries.

I'm in love with the new Pine Hot Foil Plate so I wanted to give it a little bit more love as well! I love the gold on the red.

The little plate of cookies is my ideal combination....yummy!

I think I've made more paper cookies than I will real cookies! ha ha!

I used the North Pole Mail: Candy Cane Frame Post Card Die for the background and the smaller mat.

This card features the adorable new Trees n' Patterns stamp/die set; I absolutely love the cute patterned boughs, don't you? I had fun stamping the trees in different colors and contemplated alternating colors, but in the end, just stuck to the same color for each tree. I have two extra trees that I can use on a different project!

The die set includes a base tree shape for both sizes of trees. You can stamp the different sections directly on the base or you can use the different sections, which are also part of the stamp/die set, like I have shown here!

I made this card before I made the first cookie card, but you can see I used the same background, but this card has a nice splattering of white paint to mimic snow!

The new Garnished Edges die set is the perfect backdrop for this pair of patterned trees. The star in the middle is also part of the new stamp set, but I did add a bow from the Bows Galore Die. Rather than stamping the stars, I die cut them from silver glitter cardstock and glued them to the top of each of the trees.

I was on a kick with the adhesive pearls, so these trees got some baubles in assorted sizes to give them added detail and color!

The Trees 'n Patterns stamp set has three included sentiments, but I chose this one from the Just Sentiments: Winter Wonderland Mini Stamp Set. I heat embossed it with white detail powder on a strip of Pure Poppy cardstock and then notched the ends and added it with foam squares. Thanks for fluttering by!

 

Papertrey Ink November Release Countdown Day 3

I can't believe we're already to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink November release countdown! I had so much fun with this release and I've enjoyed sharing my projects with you! My first card for today uses a few new things paired up in an unexpected way, but I had so much fun creating this card!

This card features the new Build-a-Snowflake die and the new Big Blooms: Pretty Petals die set. There is also a new Build-a-Snowflake stencil collection, but I didn't receive it with my new products, but some of the other designers make have so hopefully you can see those in action today!

I've always said that inspiration can come from anywhere, and in this case, one of the flower arrangements at a funeral I attended last weekend! It was so beautiful and despite the sadness of the occasion, the beautiful arrangement filled my soul with peace. 

To begin, I stenciled a panel of white cardstock using the stencils included in the Elegant Notes Stationery Kit and the Watercolor Wonderful Stencil Collection. I used pink in the bottom corner and purple at the top with Aqua Mist in the middle. Once that was done, I added the foiled snowflake pattern over the top using the Fanciful Snowflake Background Hot Foil Plate with silver foil.

I die cut a BUNCH of pieces from the Build-a-Snowflake dies (I will have pieces all winter long) and then built a large one, medium, small.  I die cut all of the pieces from white and then added the colors using blending brushes and ink.

As I mentioned earlier, I also used the Big Blooms: Pretty Petals, but as you can see, I didn't really use the BIG pieces.....I just wanted to accent the centers of the snowflakes. I will definitely have to make a card with those gorgeous big blooms soon! The purple flower is from the Into the Blooms: Wreath die; I had it leftover from my angel card last month. I die cut the fa la la from the Line it Up: Christmas Die once from silver cardstock and once from white and then glued them together. I heat embossed the accent sentiment in silver onto a strip of Aqua Mist cardstock. This sentiment is from the This is Big Sentiments: Christmas stamp set. A spritz of shimmer spray and glitter finish off this card!

My next card features the new Reflections: November stamp/die set. I really like this coordinating die because it includes two frames: this large size and a smaller size. I chose to die cut the frame from some pattern paper my sister bought for me a few years ago. It's just perfect for this sentiment.

I chose another print for the background of the stamped sentiment, which I stamped in Fresh Snow ink.

I used the Into the Blooms: Poinsettia Die for the flowers; some layers from white and some from vellum.

I had fun with gems and pearls to embellish the flower centers, the frame, and the letter "A". I gave the entire thing a spritz of shimmer spray for sparkle.

Switching gears to something a little more woodsy and rustic; this card features the new Reflections: November stamp/die set. It also features the new Winter Pine Hot Foil Plate. I absolutely LOVE  the new hot foil plate and I love the new Reflections: November dies! I decided to make a shaker card so I could showcase the frame and the foil plate.

I can't seem to stop with the acetate for these Reflections cards lately! ha ha! It just seemed to make the most sense so you can see the foil and use the frame. 

I filled my shaker card with star seqins, gold dust, and glitter that is from the Shakers and Sprinkles Sequin mix. 

I added some pinecones and pine sprigs that were created using the Into the Blooms: Pine Die and some leftover foliage from my clock card on day 1.

Papertrey Ink November Release Countdown Day 2

It's day 2 of the Papertrey Ink November release countdown and the team is showcasing some really cute and fun new products! My first project for today features the darling new Build-a-Hat dies and the new This is Big Sentiments: Snow. These cute new dies will be perfect for winter and autumn! 

There are quite a few design options for the hats: hearts, snowflakes, stars, pom-poms, stitching, etc! I created something a little bit woodsy and rustic. To begin, I created the background using the Simple Stitch Crochet Stencil-Small. Confession time: I have used this stencil here and there, but I haven't used it as actual crochet! ha ha! It was fun to use it to create that fun pattern as a background for this card. I cut a panel of Prairie Grass cardstock and then used the first stencil with Ripe Avocado ink and the second stencil with Prairie Grass ink.

I die cut the hat from Fine Linen cardstock as well as the brim. The pattern detail is a separate optional die, but I love how it looks, so I used it. I also added a zig-zag piece from Ripe Avocado cardstock as well as the dots that are die cut from Kraft. The pom-pom and snowflake are also cut from Kraft, but I added Cocoa Bean ink to the pom-pom and the center of the snowflake. I also added a button to the center for a homespun look.

The sentiment is from the new This is Big Sentiments: Snow stamp/die set. I stamped it in both Simply Chartreuse ink with a bit of Ripe Avocado shadow at the top. The accent sentiment is heat embossed in white embossing powder and then added over the top using foam squares.

I added some foliage to enhance the woodsy feeling; all of the pieces are from the Into the Blooms: Swag die. I cut them from white cardstock and then colored them with ink. Everything got a snowy touch with white acrylic paint and a dusting of glitter! 

My second card for today is also a snowy design, but definitely not woodsy OR rustic this time! ha ha! I went for something a little more elegant and icy and I just love how it turned out! I feel like blue would be the typical choice for a card like this, but I always like pinks and purples for snowflake cards. 

This card features the new Fantastic Front: Snowflake die and then I used the This is Big Sentiments: Snow stamp set again. I chose the scripted font for the "snow" word to keep with the feeling of this card. As you can see, I went with the crochet look again, but this time I used the Simple Stitch Crochet Stencil-Large.

I had a light bulb moment when I created my first card that you are supposed to ALTERNATE the stitches to make it look more realistic. I had both stencils go the same directions for this card, so you can compare and contrast. I'm happy to make these kinds of mistakes so others can learn! ha ha! (hangs head in shame)

To begin, I cut an A2 panel of Plum Pudding cardstock and used the stencils: one with Royal Velvet ink and the other with Amethyst Allure ink.

I die cut the Fantastic Front: Snowflake panel using Royal Velvet cardstock and silver glitter cardstock for the snowflake. There are guide marks so you can line it up perfectly. Because the glitter cardstock is not super thick, I die cut it again from white cardstock and then glued it together for a sturdier piece. I added it to the panel using a foam square in the center.

Once that was done, I adhered the Royal Velvet panel to the stenciled panel using foam squares and then added the white paint splatter. I also gave the entire thing a generous spritz or two of shimmer spray.

The sentiment is heat embossed in silver and then I die cut the 'snow' portion using the coordinating die. I added it over the top using pieces of foam tape. A few years ago, I really got stuck on adding poinsettias to the top of snowflake dies, so I decided to do it again for this card. The poinsettia is from the Tag Creations: Modern Gift Die and the leaves are cut from both silver metallic paper and vellum using the Into the Blooms: Poinsettia Die. I tucked them here and there and then added a bit of glitter and sequins.

I staggered the sequins so they would have some movement, like falling snow! I really enjoyed making this card!

My final card for today features the new Elegant Edges: Clock dies and the new Celebrate the New Year Sentiments and Line It Up: New Year dies. I went for a very traditional look with the black, gold, and silver.

This particular clock die remains intact on a panel, but I just snipped the connection points to create a stand-alone die cut clock. I cut it from Antique Gold cardstock and set it aside.

The background is created using the Cascading Dots Hot Foil Plate with black cardstock and Aura foil for a sparkly effect. I layered the clock over the top using foam squares.

The large Happy New Year die is from the new Line It Up: New Year die collection; I cut it from both white and silver glitter cardstock and stacked them with liquid glue for a sturdy piece. I layered it over the top of the clock with liquid glue.

The smaller sentiment is from the new Happy  New Year Sentiments stamp set and is heat embossed in gold to match the clock. I added it with foam squares for dimenion.

The finishing touch is a trio of sequins and then I layered the background panel onto an A2 panel of Antique Gold cardstock and then added that to a top-folding A2 card base. Thanks for fluttering by!
