Papertrey Ink November Countdown Day 3

We've made it to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink November countdown! I have two projects to share today; one using the new Winter Greetings stamp set, and one using the gorgeous new Hear the Bells stamp set!

I thought pairing the "Thoughts of you warm my heart" sentiment with the mug and mallows from the new Sweet Holidays stamp set would be a perfect match!

The Winter Greetings stamp set also has a coordinating die collection so you can die cut the sentiments. I usually take advantage of that feature, but I didn't need to on this card!

I also tucked a few sprigs here and there behind the mug for added texture and visual interest.

I used the same Holiday Spice pattern paper that I did on one of my Winter in the City cards from day 1.

I don't think I have mentioned this here on my blog, but over the last 2-3 years I have been on a Christmas bell hunt to find just the right stamps or dies for holiday cards. I have purchased quite a few, but never seem to make the time to create with them! I was so thrilled when I saw this AMAZING new Hear the Bells stamp/die set.

This is another one of those *must have* sets for me and I can't wait to use this again and again!

It comes with three sentiments: Merriest Christmas Wishes, Deck the Halls, and Joy to the World.

Papertrey Ink November Countdown Day 2

Eep! I'm so excited for day 2 of the Papertrey Ink November countdown! I absolutely adore this new Sweetest Holiday stamp set! All of the sweet additions make this set positively irresistible! For me, this is an absolute *must have* set!

This card also features the beautiful new On the Edge: Scallop Collection....I'm smitten!

This particular set features one sentiment that I added to the jug. I also added a few sprigs here and there for some added holiday charm!

I was having so much fun with this set that I had to make two cards...isn't the snowman mallow just the cutest thing ever?

I'm particularly in love with the gumdrops...so cute! This card also features the new Diagonal Stripes Hot Foil Plate!

I also used another one of the On the Edge: Scallop for the side of the background for added detail!

My final card for today features the new Into the Blooms: Evergreen dies....so perfect for holiday and Winter cards!

I'm also previewing a new sentiment set that will be showcased tomorrow!

I used the new Love to Layer: Deckled Edge dies for the focal panel and then the medium size as a mat.

One thing that I like about this sentiment set is that there are coordinating dies!

The trees and background were colored using Distress Oxide inks and then I added a generous spatter of ink for a truly snowy look! I also added some White Puff embossing powder to the trees and some glitter for some sparkle and shine! Join me again tomorrow for day 3 of the countdown! Thanks for fluttering by!

 

Papertrey Ink November Countdown Day 1

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Papertrey Ink November Countdown! I have quite a few projects to share today; first up is this card using the new Psalm Reflections: November stamp/die set! I had so much fun creating this particular card and I particularly like how the foliage turned out!

I always try and pick something out from the scripture to highlight (if possible) and for this particular verse I chose to focus on the heart.

The sentiment DOES fit inside the coordinating die, which you can see in the background, but since I wanted to use the heart, I opted for a heat embossed panel for the sentiment.

The background was created using the fun and versatile new Diagonal Stripe Hot Foil Plate that will be showcased in a few days. I used Champagne foil  on Dark Indigo cardstock for a bold look. I added the greenery here and there until I was happy with the arrangement. 

My next series of cards all feature the new Winter in the City stamp/die set. This is such a delightful collection of images to create the sweetest wintertime/Christmas scenes!

This particular card is laid out exactly how it is shown in the stamping guide....I always like to give at least one example of how the stamp creator imagined it! ha ha!

This darling set comes with four buildings, two sizes of evergreen trees, two sizes of tree silhouettes, a snowman, a wreath, bow, bench, and light posts....and the cute moon and two sentiments! Oh....and some snowdrifts!

This sweet scene evokes feelings from Christmases past and present.....so many great memories from my childhood AND memories I make with my family now!

As you can see,  I chose to use the new Diagonal Stripes Hot Foil plate again on this card....yes...it's one of those addictive ones! ha ha!

Up next is something more simple, but gives the feeling of the "Snowmen at Night" book....have you read it? I always loved reading that with my kiddos when they were younger!

I chose to stamp all of the buildings in black for that night silhouette look.

 I used Hero Arts White Puff embossing powder for the snowy accents here and there!

Even thought this set is called Winter in the City, that doesn't mean you can't make it more primitive and country like I did on this card! I simply changed up the colors of the buildings and used pattern paper to really give that country charm!

By using pattern paper, you can get away with "less" as far as the background goes, if you are pressed for time!

I used the White Puff embossing powder on this one, too! I just love how realistic the snow looks! Thanks for fluttering by!

 

Papertrey Ink Flash Sale {Gingerbread Bakery}

It's Flash Sale Time! It's been awhile since I've helped out with the Papertrey Ink Flash Sale, but you'll being seeing something from me about once a month. A few of the designers are taking turns creating something for the sales, and this week is my turn! I'm using one of my all-time favorites: Gingerbread Bakery Stamp Set and the Gingerbread Bakery Die. It is SUCH  fun set that can be used for more than just cards, which I love!

To begin my card, I die cut all of the pieces that I wanted to use from the Gingerbread Bakery stamp set and then had fun stamping them in the color palette that I chose to use. Last year I found that I was particularly drawn to Honey Nut and Cocoa Bean ink to recreate that true gingerbread look. Once everything was stamped, I got to work on a few of the accents I wanted to incorporate! 

The bow at the top, the holly leaves, and berries are all from the Tag Creations: Modern Gift Die. I die cut the holly leaves and then added Mint Julep, Vintage Jadeite, and New Leaf ink . The berries are colored using Sweet Blush ink and the bow is die cut from Sweet Blush cardstock.

The background was created by using the Fanciful Snowflake Background Hot Foil Plate and Champagne Foil. I also added the Border Bling: Skinny Embossed Frame over the top using ScorTape.

From there, I had fun adding all of the pieces onto a panel that was die cut using the Love to Layer: Lovely Brackets using foam squares for dimension. I added glitter here and there for sugary sweetness and sparkle! I had so much fun creating this card for this week's sale! Thanks for fluttering by!

 

The Greetery {Season of Thansgiving}

Hello friends! It’s Kelly and I’m so happy to be here today sharing one last Thanksgiving card for the season! I had so much fun pulling out all kinds of leaf dies in my BotaniCuts stash and inking them up in autumnal hues for a warm, glowing card! Autumn has arrived in all of her glory; Utah is truly putting on a show this year and it has been glorious to behold! I wanted to create a card that might capture just a hint of what we’ve been so lucky to experience!

To begin, I used the BotaniCuts: Wheat, Toadstool Garden, Mighty Oak, and the Jumbo Curiosity Buckeye Leaf die to die cut all of the pieces I used for the focal point. I used sponge daubers and Distress Oxide inks to color them and then I set them aside to work on the background. I’m absolutely in love with the Herringbone Parquet Die die and used it to die cut an A2 panel of Kraft cardstock. I added gathered twigs and walnut stain Distress Oxide inks around the edges using a blender brush.

Once that was done, I stamped the arched portion of the sentiment, which is from the Thanks All Ways stamp set, using the same walnut stain ink. I also die cut an arch using the A2 Arches Die from Rustic Cream cardstock. I used this as the anchoring point for all of the foliage and the Thanksgiving sentiment.

I adhered the arch using foam squares and then had fun tucking foliage here and there until I was satisfied with the arrangement. I added the cute toadstools on each side for interest and variety. I stamped the remainder of the sentiment on a Kraft strip of cardstock and added it using foam squares as well.

I couldn’t resist giving the foliage and toadstools a hint of sparkle with glitter. My favorite way to add glitter is to use a 2-Way glue pen to draw where I want it to go, and then sprinkle it over the areas with glue. I added the entire card front to an A2 card base using my favorite liquid glue: Tombow Mono Multi.  Speaking of glue, are you in the mood for a bit of humor today? Last week was “crazy hair” day at school for my 4^th grader. I found out the night before and had zero time to prep, so we went with an old stand-by: colored hair spray and large googly eyes attached all over the hair. Well….I didn’t have any washable glue on hand so I used Tombow Mono Multi glue!!! Let’s just say, he STILL might have globs of glue in his hair! LOL! That stuff REALLY works! I can rest assured that my cards won’t be falling apart! Ha ha! Anyway, that’s me just keeping it real for you all! The Greetery {Christmas Sampler Gift Tags}

 

Hello and welcome! I'm thrilled to be here today sharing some tags to gussy up your holiday packages using some of the latest products from the Recollective Holiday Collection! One of my favorite things about wrapping Christmas gifts is adding the finishing touches: the ribbons and tags! I created a trio of tags using each of the sentiments included in the Christmas Sampler Stamp Set.

I made quick work of the stenciling portion and just created them assembly line style using the Christmas Sampler Stencils. Once that was done, I used the previously released Aida Cloth Texture Plate to give it that authentic “stitched” look! I just love how it takes the sampler to the next level of cuteness!

I used the Hoopla Round Inserts die to cut the stenciled samplers into circles and then used the Hoopla Round die to make each of the three embroidery hoop frames and the cute little “hanger” on the top. That part is hard to see because of the Big Beautiful Bows, but they are there and they add just the right thing to attach the striped baker’s twine!

I added a different color bow to each of the three tags; these bows are made using the Big Beautiful Bow Die. This might be one of my absolute favorites from the new release….I just love how realistic they end up looking! I did take some creative liberties with the “tails” of the ribbon to suit the needs of my project. I used three different arrangements for each of the three tags so you can see a few options.

I tucked some BotaniCuts: Juniper sprigs here and there for a touch of greenery to really pull in the holiday spirit! You could add some glitter or snowy accents, depending on the feel you are going for. I simply colored mine with Distress Oxide inks and left them glitter-free.

For the inside of the tags, I used the leftover circles from making the hoops and used them to my advantage. I stamped a few of the sentiments included in the Wrapped in Love Sentiment Additions Stamp Setto finish off the inside. I simply glued the circles to the inside of the tag for a finished look.
