SugarPea Designs April Release Day 3

Well, it's Wednesday and day 3 of the SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week! I hope you've enjoyed days 1 and 2! The fun continues with today's adorable new stamp set and coordinating SugarCuts called You're My Type! It is just so adorable and jam packed with so many cute sentiments that fit any occasion!  I've created a total of 3 cards using the new set. First up is a layered card using a combination of the die cut typewriter layered over the stamped portion. This particular die set makes it possible to simply die cut the different pieces for the typewriter or stamp the line art image and color it  yourself. I really like the option that I used today because it is so quick and easy and my coloring isn't quite as nice as I would like. 

To create the typewriter, I die cut the top turquoise portion  and then the black portion with the keys and glued them together. The die set comes with a rectangular portion that you can use for the larger sentiments, but I chose to die cut the typewriter shape that is for the line art stamp and just ink up the paper portion and layer my turquoise/black typewriter over the top. I stamped "hello" and added one of the hearts that I die cut from the set and added a coat of Crystal Glaze.

I love the "friend" sentiment and how it looks like typewriter keys. I added some Crystal Glaze over the top of these as well for some added detail and dimension. I used the new Card Front Element Builders II that was showcased yesterday on this card as well!

For this next set of cards, I wanted to create some CAS designs to really show off how cute the typewriter is. Once again, I used the cute banner piece from the Card Front Element Builders II to highlight the word "friend". 

 The typewriters for these cards were created in the exact same way as the one from the other card; so simple and easy!

I added a few more hearts that are included in the Just My Type SugarCuts set and used foam squares to pop the larger one for some added dimension. Each heart has a coat of Crystal Glaze. Papertrey Ink Transformation Tuesday {Thanks}

 Hello, friends! I'm sharing two cards today for this week's Papertrey Ink Transformation Tuesday! There's no doubt about it; I LOVE coordinating dies to go with my stamps! While I was happy with my original card, I didn't use the dies when I made it! For today's Transformation Tuesday, I chose to create some extra dimension and detail by using the dies and adding some of the other included images to create a sweet gardening scene!

 I am always in need of thank you cards and these are just perfect for the season!

This is my old card that I made for the last Stamp-a-faire using the Community Garden stamp set! I used the same layout, but really added some extra dimension with my NEW designs!

You can really see that using the dies allows the design spring to life! To begin the new design, I die cut the lattice trellis using the Community Garden dies and stamped it in white using Fresh Snow ink. I also die cut the roses, garden scissors, seed packets, and gloves  and used my mini MISTI to get them stamped. I had originally planned on putting the pink flowers on the pink scalloped card and the yellow flowers on the yellow card, but in the end, I decided to "transform" that part as well! ha ha! I had stamped everything so dark in the original card to get it to show up on the Kraft cardstock, so I used some lighter colors for the transformation. It also allowed me to use lighter colors for the scallops, which I like.

Because I didn't use die cuts on my original design, I needed to "fill" the space by the flowers so I chose to use the heat embossed sentiment on vellum. That particular sentiment is from the You Made My Day stamp set and I really love it, but I just couldn't make it work for today's new designs since I added the extra stamped images. I decided to use another one of my favorite sentiment sets for today's cards; Never Enough: Thanks. It fit perfectly on the Pierced Feature Frames and I decided to stamp it in black for some contrast.

I also opted to add a white center rather than the Kraft center. I liked how it made the images pop a little bit better! I did end up by using the inside portion from the Kraft frames by stamping another one of the sentiments on them and adding them to the inside of the cards for a polished look.

 I used the Scallop Stackers: Large Die to create the border for the two cards. I also added the Jute Button Twine around the top like I did in the original card because I think it gives the design a "gardening" feel as well.  A trio of sparkling clear sequins finish off these two thank you cards. SugarPea Designs April Release Day #2

Welcome to Day 2 of the SugarPea Designs April Release sneak peeks! If you thought yesterday was sweet, things are just getting sweeter! Not only are we showcasing this adorable stamp set, but we are also showcasing the new Card Front Element Builders II! I am so excited! I have used the original Card Front Element Builders for SOOOOOO many projects, I am excited to have another set of dies to use! I have used it on today's design to add many of the little details. I will also be using it in other ways throughout the week, so stay tuned! It is a definite must have!

I used it to create the lines at the bottom of the card. They reminded me of a line of music, so I thought it would be cute for them to be marching across it! I did all of the ink blending before I did all of the die cutting. The stitched edge along the outside is from the new die set as well as the sentiment banner and circle.

I stamped all of the cute musical critters in black ink and then colored them with copic markers. Once they were all colored, I die cut them using the coordinating Strike Up the Band SugarCuts. I love that there is an extra hat included so that you can dress up any of the critters that aren't wearing one if you'd like.

I had so much fun with this set, but I still have so many more ideas I want to try with it, so be prepared to see lots more from this set! Thanks for fluttering by!

SugarPea Designs April Release Day #1

Hello and welcome to day #1 of the SugarPea Designs April Release! Today we are showcasing a super fun new set and coordinating products that you're sure to fall in love with, as I certainly have!  I've created a card using the new "Hey Honey" stamp set, but before I dive into the details of today's project, don't forget to head to the rest of the designer's blogs to see the creative ways that they have used these amazing new products.

To begin, I used the amazing new Honey Comb Cover Plate to emboss my 4 by 5 1/4 inch panel that has been blended using Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink. I just love the dimension that it gives my card base!

I stamped all of the images in black ink and then got to work coloring them using Copic markers. Once they were all done, I die cut them using the coordinating "Hey Honey" SugarCuts. I also die cut some of the new Stacked Honeycombs SugarCuts to give it some added detail as well as a place to stamp the cute sentiment.

 I also die cut some of the little hearts that are included in the SugarCuts set out of red cardstock and added them to the card using liquid glue. I also gave them a nice coating of Nuvo Crystal Glaze for some added shine.

 The bear's nose also got some glaze as well. I always like adding simple little details like this to give the card some extra detail and whimsy.

Once everything was in place on the card, I added some black splatters of ink using my colors spritzing tool. I hope you've enjoyed today's new products! Everything will be available for purchase on Friday at 6 pm EST. Thanks for fluttering by!

Satruday Showcase {Enjoy Your Day}

 Welcome to this week's Papertrey Ink Saturday Showcase! Today we are sharing some fun projects using the Bloomin' Cute stamp set. Teacher Appreciation Week is fast approaching and as a mom of school-aged children I can always use a head start. I've made 6 tags to go on these mini Martinelli juice bottles. My kids have their regular teachers, plus a lot of specialty teachers as well, so I like to have a lot of gifts on hand. These will be a sweet and refreshing gift to send to the teachers!

To begin today's project, I die cut six of the Wine Bottle Tag #2 dies. You could also use the Wine Bottle Tag die as well, depending on your needs. I cut these out of white cardstock. I don't own the Bloomin' Cute dies, so I needed to stamp all of the bright blooms onto white cardstock. I used my MISTI to do all of the stamping, which made it go so quickly!

Once I had all of the stamping done on the tags, I heat embossed the "your day" onto some pink and red paper using gold embossing powder. This particular banner piece is included in the wine bottle tag die set. It also has a thinner banner piece for some of your smaller sentiments.

I used foam squares to pop up the banner pieces to give it some extra dimension. I usually ALWAYS use die cuts, so making something one layer is really hard for me! LOL! 

I used some wide red and white striped ribbon for half of the bottles and some New Leaf Grosgrain ribbon for some extra detail. I'm happy with how these turned out and I hope the teachers are happy with their gift for one of the days during the week! I have lots of other things planned as well, so stay tuned for those! Wishing you a joyous Easter!

I can't believe Easter is almost here! I am feeling grateful that it is later than usual this year so I have extra time to work on fun projects! Today I'm over on the SugarPea Designs Blog sharing these quick and easy Easter box/ baskets. If you stop by regularly, you will know that these are a favorite of mine this time of year.

Bunnies and baskets just go hand in hand for Easter, so I thought it would be fun to use the beautiful Egg Cut-Away Window Die to create some fun focal points for today's projects. I think I mentioned during the release that this die reminds me of the eggs that you can peek into and see a springtime scene or Easter scene. I loved those so much growing up! I die cut the egg portion using green cardstock and adhered it to the front of the box using foam squares for dimension.

The bunnies are die cut twice and glued together using the bunny that is included in the Window die collection. I added a pom pom tail using a hot glue gun for security. I would hate Peter Cottontail to lose his cotton tail! LOL!

I used the Easter word die to die cut the word; once from white cardstock and once from a specialty gold paper. I glued them together using liquid glue and then carefully applied it to the egg shape using strategically placed liquid glue. The sentiment is from the Easter Wishes stamp set and is heat embossed in gold and then adhered to the box/basket using foam squares.

I added a trio of sparkling clear sequins to the inside of the egg. I also added a purple polka dot bow to the box using a glue gun. I don't use ribbon like I used to, but an Easter basket is just calling for some! These are the perfect size to fill with treats and lipgloss, etc. The box is 5 inches tall, 3 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. These were so quick and easy to make! Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Challenge {hip, hip, hooray}

I'm excited to say that I am completely finished will all of my graduation cards for this year's graduates! Today I'm sharing an unconventional graduation design for this month's Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge! You can read all about the challenge HERE.  I don't own any Reverse Confetti "graduation" stamp sets, but I didn't let that stop me from making something fitting for the occasion! 

 It's always fun to make graduation cards using the school colors of the graduate, so that is how I started off today's design. I felt like it would say "graduation" just with the school colors being present. I die cut the Triangle Cover Panel and then layered it over the top of the blue pattern paper from the Warm Hearts 6 by 6 paper pad using foam squares. I love adding a lot of dimension to simple cards to make them pop. 

I haven't had a reason to use the new Hooray and Cheers Word Duos Confetti Cuts so I was happy to use the "hooray" one for Today's design. I die cut it 3 times and glued them together using liquid glue. I adhered it to the blue tag base that was die cut using the Grid Stitched Tag Confetti Cuts.  l love how it pops out against the blue cardstock. Once it was adhered to the tag, I added a layer of Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the top to make it shine. Since it is for a young man, I didn't want to add any unnecessary sparkle, but wanted to add a little bit here and there where it was fitting.

The three sentiment strips are heat embossed in silver and then added to the tag base using foam squares. Each of these sentiments is from the Word Up stamp set. I have used this particular set SO much since I got it! I just love all of the different sentiments that it has! It really made this card possible with each of these fun and perfect sentiments.

Once I had added all of the black, I decided to layer the entire panel onto a piece of black cardstock to give it a small border. I really like the definition it adds to the design. This portion is slightly larger than a standard A2 card, but the base that I layered it onto is just a standard size. I tied a bow of silver cord to give it some added detail.
