Hello friends, thanks for joining me today for day 1 of the Papertrey Ink November release countdown! I have some fun Christmas projects to share....my card and tag stash is GROWING! Over the next few days, the team will be showcasing a series of fun new Cover Plate products. The first in the series is the Cover Plate: Elegant Ornament Die along with a coordinating Christmas Tag: Elegant Ornament Die. I will be sharing a trio of tags after this project, and then my last project features the new Cover Plate: Peace on Earth.
These Cover Plate dies are designed to allow you to put together quick cards with all of the placement figured out so all you have to do is decide which colors and details you want to add!
To begin my card, I used the Fanciful Snowflakes Hot Foil Plate and gold foil on an A2 panel of Vintage Cream cardstock. I also used the main Cover Plate die to cut out the base and attached it to the foiled panel using foam squares.
Next, I die cut the large ornament base and detail die from Stamper's Select White cardstock and added the blue color using a blender brush and Enchanted Evening ink. I gave it a spritz of Shimmer Spray and then added the pearls and gold accents. The accents are cut from gold cardstock and are included with the Cover Plate: Elegant Ornament Die. I die cut the topper for the ornament from gold as well and then glued it all to the base using liquid glue for the ball and foam squares for the topper.
I die cut the top portion of the Cover Plate from white so I could cut out the two smaller ornaments and ink them up in red and Aqua Mist. The Aqua Mist ornament is spritzed with fossilized amber distress oxide spray and the other one is colored with Pure Poppy ink and then I added the star detail that is included in the Christmas Tag: Elegant Ornament. The little toppers for these two ornaments were die cut from that set as well.
I used the Into the Blooms: Swag Die for a recent project and I've just kept it on my desk so I can reach for it every time I need some festive foliage! I added some Crystal Stickles to the leaves and berries.
The entire piece is layered onto a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue.
My next project features the Christmas Tag: Elegant Ornament....this is just a miniature version of all of the cute ornaments from the Cover Plate I just shared.
I die cut the tag bases using the included die from a foiled panel like I did on the card. I die cut the ornament from some pattern paper and then added the gold snowflake. This snowflake is in the Cover Plate die.
The red tag and the tag with the red ornament show the cute detail dies that can be used to create one-of-a-kind ornaments.
The special delivery and Merry Christmas sentiments are both from the useful This is Big Sentiments: Christmas Tags.
I always love to add details like gems and pearls to add some holiday flair!
My final project for today features the new Cover Plate: Peace on Earth! Utah has had the pleasure of the Northern Lights last week, so this is paying homage to that! ha ha!
I cut an A2 panel of white cardstock and did some ink blending with distress oxide inks. I added some Shimmer Spray and white ink splatter and let it dry.
The "Peace on Earth" sentiment is die cut and colored with the same blue ink and then glued in place with liquid glue. I die cut the trees from white and added some slight ink blending around the edges and then added some ink splatter. I adhered all of the trees with foam squares with the exception of the teeny tiny one, and that one is secured with liquid glue.
The pink stars are die cut from glitter paper and then I added a gem to the middle and a gem in the middle of the white ones as well.
I added some Rock Candy glitter to the sentiment and trees and then added the entire piece to a top-folding A2 card base! Thanks for fluttering by!
