I never like "needing" a sympathy card, but I do this week. A lady from my neighborhood lost her Mom to cancer. I feel really bad for her. I wanted to use Vintage Violet, one of the first In-Colors from a few years ago. I haven't used it in a awhile. I always over analyze sympathy cards because I don't want them to seem dreary as I fear this one may. I tried to add a bright ribbon and some glitter to keep it from seeming too dark. I think she probably likes purple, because she wears it often. I used my "Gentler Times" set that is retired from SU! also. I guess today is an oldie but goodie day. I didn't have a sympathy sentiment small enough to fit where I wanted it, so I printed one from my computer. I thought it blended nicely with the feel of the card.
On a happier note...my son won his last football game on Saturday ending the season at 7-0! The whole season has been so exciting, but not nearly as much as yesterday's game.
The other team was 6-0 going in, like us. Even though we won, I couldn't help feel bad for the other team's boys who had worked hard all season, to end with a loss. It could have just as easily been us. I tried to prepare my son just in case. Since we are in the JR. division, there are no championship games, but we will continue on with some extra games that the team can attend if they want (for a small fee) LOL! So...Football continues for at least another month. I am glad it isn't over yet! Thanks for fluttering by!

P.S. It is time again for a release from The Saltbox Studio, so stay tuned this week for sneak peeks! Yay!

I think that sympathy card is beautiful! I'm sure she'll be touched to receive it. And congrats to your little football player!
What a beautiful and heartfelt sympathy card. I know it will bring comfort. I love that set, too, so I'm happy to have another idea for it.
Congrats to your son - it's exciting to have a championship year!
A very elegant sympathy card...your neighbor will be touched by your thoughtfulness. And you've inspired me to get out that set and use it. I really enjoy your blog. Thanks!
The card is beautiful, very elegant.
So much thought into this beautiful sympathy card--Kelly, you're a sweetheart!
Fun football pix too!
Kelly - this is truly an exceptional design and color combo - even by your talented standards! Thanks for sharing and I'm sure this beautiful card will bring her a measure of peace.
