He Has Risen, Just as He Said

Well friends, this is the last "leftovers" post using bits and pieces from the last few months of crafting! I was so pleased with how many pieces I was able to use since I had worked so hard ot create each and every piece. I mentioned before, but I didn't end up throwing much away at all, which made me so happy! Now I have a nice clean slate for all of the fun events and things that happen at the latter part of spring, so stay tuned for all of those fun projects coming your way soon!

I decided to create a floral bouquet using different flowers from three different projects. The tulips are from THIS collection of cards and the forget-me-nots were made for THIS release; the honeycomb chick box/basket.

The other floral clusters were leftover from yesterday's post from The Greetery.

I chose to add some blue ink and splatter under the flowers to anchor them a bit and then stamped the sentiments using the Hymn Sing: Easter Refrain stamp set.

It felt a bit naked, so I used the photo corner die from the retired Fairytale Christmas kit from PTI. I layered it at an angle on some of the large gingham paper I've been using this spring. I don't normally put things on angles, but you couldn't see any of the white on the gingham paper if it was straight and I liked the white! ha ha! I hope you all have a wonderful Easter celebrating the miracle and wonderous gift of our resurrected Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Thanks for fluttering by!

The Greetery {Petit Four Birthday}

Hello and welcome, friends!  Back in February, Pinterest decided it wanted to show me all kinds of pretty images featuring tea sets and petit fours! Ha ha! I obliged and saved a few because as soon as I saw those pretty petti fours, I KNEW I wanted to try using the Curio Confections Die to make some paper versions! I also knew that the Fine China suite of products would be the perfect companion!

To begin, I used the Fine China Hot Foil with Champagne foil for the plates. I used the Fine China Die + Stencil to cut out the plates and then added soft color with the stencils. I took all of my color cues from the pretty image that I had saved and the china was pale pink and white with touches of blue. Now, don’t make the same mistake I did; I forgot that the pierced circle detail doesn’t actually CUT a circle out, too! Woops! I had stamped the circle rose images on a separate piece of cardstock and was thinking I could use that circle piece to cut them out, but no, it is just the pierced detail. Instead, I used the pierced detail on the larger plate and then simply used a circle punch to punch out the rose detail piece and glued it to the plate.

For the smaller plate, I used a larger punch and popped it up using foam squares. Before I added it to the plate, I stamped the sentiment in black ink using the Fine China Stamp Set.  I set all of the plates aside, including the tiny one and got to work on the petit fours.

Normally I die cut things like this from white cardstock and then use ink to color them, but in order to achieve the desired effect, I cut them from regular colored cardstock. I chose a pale pink, aqua, and lilac and used a bright gold cardstock for the paper liners. I used foam squares to pop the petit fours up on the liners to give them dimension.

Each of the petit fours got a tiny cluster of flowers using the Winter Medley Die. Of course, the real version had flowers made from icing so I added a dot of white Nuvo Drops to the center of each flower to achieve that same look. I don’t know about you, but I don’t use my drops as much as I used to, so it’s always nice to have an excuse!

Once all of the elements were ready to go, I got to work assembling the card. I added a touch of aqua ink around the edges of a white panel measuring 4 by 5 ¼ inches. I layered the plates on a diagonal and then added the petit fours here and there. The smallest plate is tucked in the corner and I simply removed the excess with scissors. I used the Flappable Stencil to decorate the envelope and then used another sentiment from the Fine China stamp set to tie it all together. The entire panel is added to a pale pink top-folding card base using foam squares. I really had a lot of fun making these petit fours and I can’t wait to try using them again for other projects. It’s always nice to stretch your supplies for multiple uses! Thanks for joining me today!

Christ the Lord is Risen Today!

Hello and welcome! I'm back with the third card using up leftovers from past projects, so thanks for joining me today! This card came together the fastest: I had stamped the background panel for the Bunnies and Bow release, but it was slightly crooked so I didn't use it on my release project! I'm feeling quite proud of myself that with the arrangement of flowers and some creative cutting, it's not crooked at all!

I stamped the panel using the Hymn Sing: Christ the Lord is Risen Today Stamp and then the flowers, which are leftover from THIS card. I think in that post I mention that I stamped two of everything and so here is what I did with the second set!

I stamped the Happy Easter sentiment, which is from the Hymn Sing: Easter Refrain Stamp Set, in black at the bottom for some contrast.

I really like how soft and pretty this card turned out! I have one more card to share, AND as mentioned on my first "leftovers" post, you will see I was running out of leftovers! ha ha! Thanks for fluttering by!

Easter Blessings

As promised, I'm back with my next card using all of the leftover spring/Easter pieces from previous projects. While this card has quite a few little pieces, it came together in a snap because I already had all of the pieces ready to go! It was all just fun as I used things here and there!

The background for this card was all ready to go because I thought I messed up on one of the my backgrounds for the Bunnies and Bows collection, but I realized my mistake would be covered, so I abandoned the second background which ended up coming in handy for this card.

I had the focal panel cut from the  Love to Layer: Laced Edges Die all ready to go as well so it was just a matter of adding all of the sweet details.

The Bunny Tales and Easter Blessings sentiments AND the bunnies and frame are all from the Bunny Tales Stamp Set. I have had so much fun with this particular set this spring; it's going to be hard to put it away until next year!

Another bow from the Tiers of Cheer: Easter stamp set found its way to the top of the frame, but I just love the fresh aqua with the purple! The two pansies are from THESE cards and I just love cute they look at the bottom of the frame! I tucked a few floral clusters from an upcoming project from The Greetery, so stay tuned for that! I love how this card turned out and I have to say, it was so nice how quickly it came together because all of the pieces were ready to go! Thanks for fluttering by!
P.S. I still have two more cards to share so be on the lookout for those!~

Easter Tiers of Cheer

Spring is definitely springing around here which means it's just about time to be winding down with Easter crafting! ha ha! Go figure! But, we all know how things work in the papercrafting world and there's always something new and exciting just around the corner! I took some time to clean up my desk and in doing so, I needed to either throw away all of the leftover bits or put them to good use! I had put so much time and effort into creating them, so I decided putting them to good use was the best option! So, that means I'll be sharing 4 projects over the next week or so leading up to Easter that showcase all of the leftover bits! I'm also just not quite ready to say goodbye to all of the sweet early spring things like bunnies, chicks, eggs, bulb flowers, etc.

Also, because I was pulling bits and pieces from all sorts of different past-projects, there will be quite a bit of mixing brands, so just be aware. I will link everything so you know where it comes from.

My first card uses the darling new Tiers of Cheer: Easter Stamp Set. I made 3 cards for the release using this particular stamp set so I had quite a few leftover pieces to pick and choose from. The background was from a card I was hoping to make using the Love to Layer: Scalloped Diamonds Die and turning them into kites, but I just couldn't make it work so I had this extra ink blended and splatter panel. It was actually the perfect backdrop for the tiered tray.

I had so much fun "decorating" the tray using all of the leftover pieces. I also found that the leftover florals from the  Bitty Botanicals Stamp + Stencil were the sweetest addition to the tray, tucking them in bowls, the watering can, etc. This is my favorite card using this set and I think it's because of the addition of these sweet florals.

The Easter sentiment was leftover from my projects for the Bunnies and Bows release and is from the Spring Crest Stamp Set. I also used one of the companion sentiments for the He Is Risen portion, which is stamped directly on the tray. When I spritzed the card with shimmer spray a large drop ended up on the sentiment....ugh! I can't decide if I should just leave it or fix it! I was beyond bugged but things like that happen and it's not the end of the world since I CAN stamp another one.

The bow on the aqua bunny on the bottom of the tray is from the Bows Galore Die and I just love how it looks on this cute bunny. I like it better than the stamped bow on the watering can. I had so much fun creating this card and it used quite a few of my leftover goodies. I did end up throwing away any remaining pieces from the Tiers of Cheer stamp set because there wasn't enough of anything to make another card, so unfortunately, those ended up in the trash. Join me again soon for my next card! I will be sharing them in the order I made them, not that it matters, but you will see how I started running out of things to use, but I was proud that I used almost every last little piece! ha ha! Thanks for fluttering by!

Pinkfresh Studio {Celebrate}

Welcome, friends! I finally took some time over the weekend to use a few of those products that I just "had" to have when they were released! I have a basket with things I've purchased and never used and it is absolutely BURSTING at the seams so it's time to tackle it! ha ha! I decided to take ALL of the Christmas items out since I won't be using them for a few months at least and that made it seem not so overwhelming.

To begin this card, I used the Garden Party Layering Stencils with the Garden Party Die and created all of the fun blooms. I love how easy it is to mix and match all of the different pieces to create one-of-a-kind flowers!

I had a few butterflies left over from a past project that were made using the Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate with gold foil and the vellum.

For the background, I used the Diagonal Stitched Plaid Die with Vintage Cream cardstock. I cut it to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and then used a corner rounder punch for the edges to give it some added interest.

I die cut the oval using the Essentials: Ornate Oval Die and then added it to the background using small strips of foam tape.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed the CELEBRATE sentiment in gold, which is included in the Here For You Stamp Set and then used the coordinating Here For You Die to cut it out.

I layered all of the flowers and leaves in the middle of the oval frame and tucked the leaves here and there until I was satisfied with the arrangement.

The sentiment is layered over the top using foam squares. I added the entire background panel to a top-folding A2 cream card base using additional foam squares. Thanks for fluttering by!

The Miracle of Easter

Hello friends! My Easter stash is growing and I'm so excited! I'm also excited that Easter is so much later this year than it was last year so I have ample time to make special preparations! As you can see, I made two cards to share with you today using the same basic elements with different sentiments.

To begin the pair, I die cut all of the pieces for the tulips using the Into the Blooms: Tulips Die from white cardstock and then colored them using distress oxide inks and finger daubers. I used a combination of liquid glue and foam squares to assemble the blooms.

For this card I used the Thoughts of Easter Sentiments Stamp Set; I stamped the verse in black on Lilac Grace cardstock and then stamped the Rejoice! on white and die cut it using the Thoughts of Easter Sentiments Die.

The background on both cards is the same. I used the Fantastic Front: Scalloped Frame Die and cut it from white cardstock. I added it to an A2 panel of Lilac Grace cardstock using foam squares. I added the tulips to the center of the Rejoice card using foam squares and added teh sentiments.

This card features the Reflections February stamp set and the coordinating Reflections: February Die. I heat embossed the verse in white and then die cut it out. I prefer to do the embossing first so it won't warp the die cut piece.

I added the sentiment to the background panel and then arranged the tulips around the edges. Each card got a few dew drops on the leaves and tulips for a fun springtime effect. Thanks for fluttering by!

You Make Me Happy

Hello friends! I hope you're all doing well and I'm so glad you've stopped by! I have a bright and cheery card to share with you today that will hopefully bring some sunshine to your day!
When using stencils, I have a tendency of just creating panels with the stencil design completely covering it; for today, I decided to switch things up a bit.

I wanted to create the illusion of depth and dimension, but without any additional bulk. To begin this card, I cut an A2 panel of white cardstock (I did eventually trim it down). I added a strip of washi tape to the left side, leaving the white border as you can see. I layered the smaller of the two stencils included in the Dotted Hexagon Stencil Collection and added Harvest Gold ink centralized near the washi tape and then let it fade out. I removed the stencil and then added some Summer Sunrise ink over the top of the stencil, using a lighter hand as it fades out.

I kept the washi tape in place, but also added some post-it notes to cover the white space so I could add black and Summer Sunrise paint splatter. Once that was done, I removed the post-it notes and the washi tape and set it aside.

I had some daisies already cut out from a previous project, so I just added a little bit of Harvest Gold ink to the center of each layer as well as the centers of each flower and then glued them together with the final layer added with foam squares. The leaves are colored using Spring Moss and Ripe Avocado ink.

I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Just Sentiments: Quotes Mini Stamp Set, in black and then added the flowers and leaves. I cut and folded a top-folding A2 card base and then added the stripes using the Show Your Stripes Stencil Collection. I cut the hexagon panel down to 3 3/4 by 5 inches and layered it over the top using foam squares. I added the daisies, sequins and shimmer spray and called it done! Thanks for fluttering by!

Happy Thoughts to Brighten Your Life

I'm popping in today to share a bright floral card to help usher in spring! I used the Always in Bloom Stamp Set that was released last year. This has become one of my favorite floral sets and is perfect for all kinds of occasions. I feel like I get in color ruts quite often, so I tried to stamp some of the flowers and leaves in different color combinations to achieve something out of the norm for myself.

I was inspired by a watercolor piece I saw on Pinterest, which was super helpful to help change my perspective. I definitely should try it more often to keep things fresh and eliminate those ruts! I cut all of the pieces from white cardstock using the Always in Bloom Die and then stamped them using the Always in Bloom Stamp Set. I actually stamped all of the pieces twice so I can use them on another project. I did add some details to some of the flowers and leaves using colored pencils.

The background was created by cutting a panel of Vintage Cream cardstock using the Love to Layer: Torn Edges Die. I have really been enjoying this die lately because it adds automatic interest to an otherwise plain background. I also like the pop of color on the edges: this card uses Tropical Teal cardstock.

I added the watercolor portion using the Watercolor Wonderful Stencil Collection in yellow tones to balance the cool tones in some of the flowers and leaves. Once that was done, I die cut the chain border from gold cardstock and added it around the stenciled panel using liquid glue. (I'm having trouble finding the link for the chain border. I'm sorry)

I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Just Sentiments: Spring Blessings Mini Stamp, in black ink. Once that was done, I arranged the flowers and leaves until I was satisfied with the arrangement.

I added a trio of sparkling clear sequins around the sentiment and also added a spritz of shimmer spray. I added the entire panel to a top-folding A2 white card base using liquid glue. I had fun creating this springtime card! Thanks for fluttering by!
