Simon Says Stamp Celebrate Release {Flower Power}

I'm thrilled to be helping with the Celebrate Release from Simon Says Stamp!  My card for today features the new Flower Power stamp set that features an assortment of daisies and flowers in all kinds of sizes and a few leaves and hearts.  It also features quite a few uplifting and encouraging sentiments so I was happy to be able to sneak two onto the card without it seeming odd or busy!

I had thought up the design for this card one night when I couldn't sleep, so once I had time to sit down and get busy, it came together quite easily. To begin, I cut a bunch of 1/4 inch strips of scrap cardstock in rainbow colors (omitting purple). I cut a panel of white cardstock measuring 3 3/4 inches by 5 and then glued the strips using liquid glue. I like using liquid glue on projects like this because it gives me a little "wiggle room" (literally) to get the strips placed neat and straight.

When it was all said and done, I only used two blue strips, so I decided to heat emboss the "hugs and happy thoughts" sentiment on the teal cardstock using white detail embossing powder.

I cut a slightly narrower panel and got to work building the flower pattern using the included images. Once I had what I wanted, I got to work coloring them with an assortment of alcohol markers. I don't do much coloring at all anymore so many of my Copic markers have dried up, so I had to use a few from my inexpensive set I got on Amazon. I added some black ink splatter for added interest and detail.

I attached the teal sentiment underneath the colored panel and then adhered it to the panel with the strips using foam squares. I mounted the entire thing onto a white card base using additional foam squares. I added some Tim Holtz Rock Candy glitter to the flower centers, leaves, and the smaller flowers. I added a trio of sparkling clear sequins to finish it off! Thanks for fluttering by!

 

Pinkfresh Studio June Washi, Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release Blog Hop

 

Hello and welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio June release blog hop! I'm sharing two projects with you today using a few of the new products! As I mentioned earlier, I'm sharing two cards with you today! Up first is this fun rainbow design which is similar to the last Pinkfresh project I shared, but I used a different rainbow and I added the darling new Small Butterflies Stamp Set as well as the Small Butterflies Layering Stencils and coordinating Small Butterflies Die.

To begin the butterflies, I used the stencils using shades of orange and yellow to create Monarch type butterflies. I thought they would accent the rainbow nicely without being too busy.

Once the stenciling was complete, I used the coordinating stamp to add the detail images. Once that was done, I used the dies to cut the butterflies out and set them aside.

I felt like this particular sentiment was absolutely perfect for this butterfly design and so I stamped it in black at the top of an A2 sized white card base. This sentiment is from the previously released Floral Bunch stamp set as well as the flowers.

I die cut all of the pieces of the Color Block Rainbow Die and then put them back together using foam squares for dimension. I layered the flowers hanging over the edge and then squared them up using my paper trimmer.

I added the butterflies here and there using additional foam squares. I'm thrilled about the fabulous new gold Metallic Pearls! They are so much fun and I added them to a few of the butterflies here and there!

My second project for today uses the new Floral Vase Layering Stencils which coordinate with the previously released Floral Vase Stamp set. I used to color this set with Copic markers, but now I can do it quickly and effortlessly with the new stencils.

I used the outline stamp on both images to give them the added detail over the stenciled designs.

I love the look of the vase, so I decided to add some watercoloring to the background using ink, a blender brush, and a few spritzes of water! Easy peasy!

I added a few jewels as well to add some sparkle and shine!

Pinkfresh Studio {Flower Power}

 Hello friends! I'm excited to be here today sharing a bright, fun rainbow/floral design! When it was all said and done, I thought it had a 60's "Flower Power" vibe, hence the title of today's post! This is one of those cards that evolved on its own and I was just along for the ride! ha ha! My original plan didn't work out, but what came in its place is so much better!

To begin this card, I die cut the rainbow strips using the Color Block Diagonal Stripes die using different colors of cardstock. I ended up using 11 in total to give the rainbow the gradient look that I adore! I cut a piece of white cardstock measuring 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches and added the strips to the top using liquid glue. I purposely left the corners bare, but in the end it didn't matter since I covered them up with the flowers. 

I'm obsessed with the new Lots of Love die set and knew it would be perfect with the rainbow strips. I used a few of the same colors of cardstock to die cut the letters and added them to the white shadow using liquid glue. The heat embossed sentiment that is underneath is from the My Favorite Things to Say 2 stamp set.

I really love the Floral Bunch suite of products and knew these daisies would be perfect for this flower power design! I used the Floral Bunch stamp set and the Floral Bunch Die to stamp and die cut and then finished it up with the fabulous Floral Bunch Layering Stencils. 

From there, I just placed the edges of the image over the corners and adhered them with foam squares and then squared them up with my paper trimmer. Of course I had to add a few jewels, which you can now buy individually! I had so much fun creating this card! Thanks for fluttering by!

Pinkfresh Studio February Challenge {Hi Beautiful}

Well friends, it's a new month and that means there's a new challenge for Pinkfresh Studio! The inspiration photo is fabulous and I had so much fun picking the different elements for my card! Now, we DO have a new release blog hop tomorrow, so I thought I would hurry and use one of the stencils from LAST release that I didn't get a chance to use! Sometimes when there's new goodies, I tend to neglect older favorites....and this Mirrored Triangles Stencil will definitely be headed to the "favorites" category!

You can read all about the challenge HERE. This is a challenge tailor-made for me since I LOVE alphas/words so much!

Each month when my new release package arrives, there's always one or two products that I mentally label "for Laura", meaning, I know that Laura Bassen will most likely be using them and therefore, rocking them! ha ha! This stencil is one of those "Laura" products and yep....this is what she used for our last release blog hop! LOL! With that being said, I don't always get around to using the "Laura" products, so I was super excited to use it for today's card! I've seen so many beautiful projects made using it and it is so fun and versatile. 

I had a lot of fun using different shades of each color to create this fun rainbow pattern! You can rotate the stencil to get all kinds of different combinations, and for today's card, I ended up with this fun pattern. I chose to orient it with the points facing down, which reminded me of a banner. I knew that the Essentials: Shaker Tags dies had the perfect piece to anchor my letters and my foliage!

After the panel was stenciled, I used the Essentials: Stitched Rectangles to die cut around it to give it that polished edge. It matches the banner piece as well, so it was the perfect choice! I die cut the letters three times each and glued them together using liquid glue. I added some Aquamarine ink over the top using a blender brush. I carefully added the white border around each letter and added them to the banner piece using small foam squares.

You can see in this photo that I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the top of each letter with a sprinkling of glitter to the tops as well to enhance the ombre feel. I die cut a Leafy Branch from white cardstock and inked it up using residual ink from my blender brushes. I added it to the top of the banner piece using liquid glue and then added some leftover flowers from THIS project for extra detail and interest! I added a bit more glitter to the leaves and flowers and a few JEWELS. Now...I didn't plan out the "beautiful" portion of the sentiment, so if I were to recreate this card, I would stamp it before you add the banner. I did it AFTER so I had to be careful that the door of my MISTI wouldn't leave any ink. I made certain to wipe off any black ink that got on the door BEFORE I made the impression. This particular sentiment is from the Simply Sentiments: Hello stamp set and has quite a few that would work well on this particular design. I was lucky that the lines from the stencil made a perfectly straight edge to line in up with! This card was a lot of fun to make and I hope you get a chance to play along in the challenge this month! Thanks for fluttering by!

 

Hugs {From all of Us}

 

Hello and welcome, friends! I'm sharing a bright and colorful card today with some fun new products from the Hearts and Roses Collection by Waffle Flower! There are so many fun products and I'm hoping to share a few more projects with you before the month is over! This card was so fun to make and would you believe it if I told you it was made from 100 percent white cardstock with the exception of the black sentiment strip?

To begin this design, I die cut the frame using the Heart and Frame Die and added some red ink over the top using a blender brush. I then trimmed a piece of white cardstock to place in the center of the frame so I could add the fun "HUGS" pieces. 

These are also included in the Heart Frame Die and I die cut it 6 times. I'm going to tell you how I SHOULD have made this card, not how I actually did, because it will save you some time! LOL! I had originally only planned on using the outer portion of the HUGS piece with the stitched detail, but once I saw how cute the colorful letters looked popped back inside the negative space, my entire card design took a turn!

I used 5 different inks to ink up each of the rectangles. You'll want to leave the letters intact if you can. (I had punched them out because I didn't know I would be inking them). By inking up the entire piece, you'll be left with all the different colored letters that you'll need to assemble the card. I had to go back in and do them one at a time, which was therapeutic, but a time sucker! ha ha! I had fun putting them back into place using liquid glue. It was like putting a puzzle together where you already know where the pieces go! LOL!

The 6th set of letters will need to be left white so you can color them the exact same as the first set on the lightest pink panel. I layered these twice so I could add the Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the top easily. I only did it on those select letters and then added the heat embossed "From All Of Us" sentiment, which is from the new Happy Birthday Combo, underneath to place emphasis there. I used my favorite White Embossing Powder on this sentiment to get a nice result. I'm obsessed with the big Happy Birthday sentiments included in that set, so don't be surprised if you see one of those on a card in the next few days! ha ha!

I added another sentiment to the inside using the Sending Love Sentiments for some added detail and well-wishes!

This was a really fun card to make and is already going to a family that has COVID running rampant through their house! UGH! I'll be sharing some fresh floral inspiration tomorrow! Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink/Ink to Paper Flash Sale {Sending a Colorful Hello}

Sending you all sunshine and rainbows on this December day! I'm sharing two cards made for this week's Papertrey Ink/Ink to Paper Flash Sale! My daughter said to me that she didn't want to hurt my feelings, but she's ready for spring! She knows how much I enjoy "celebrating the season", but she said she just wants Easter and spring! ha ha! I guess these two cards are made for all of you who are feeling those same feelings!

I simply adore a pastel rainbow, so that is what started these two designs. Santa brought my daughter the CUTEST pastel rainbow sweater that I'm just smitten with! I heat embossed the rainbow heart arcs and then added the ink over the top.

The letters are stamped out in a wonky pattern using the different pastel rainbow colors.

I chose to stamp the "sunshine and rainbows" and "a colorful Hello" sentiments in black to let them pop and to give the card some definition. These were so fun to make and hopefully brought some sunshine into your  day! Thanks for fluttering by!

 

Reverse Confetti New Release Blog Hop

I'm thrilled to be participating in the Reverse Confetti new release blog hop! I have 4 projects to share with you today using many of the fabulous new products that are available now! I will include the list of designers participating in the hop at the bottom of this post!  Up first is a bold card using the new Wreath of Joy Confetti Cuts paired with the Center Frame Cover Panel and Joyful Holiday Wishes sentiment set!

I die cut the background of JOY out of white cardstock and then the smaller J and Y out of gold specialty cardstock. The poinsettia portion is die cut from red cardstock twice and then added over the top using foam squares. I almost left it just like this, but in the end, opted to add the heat embossed/ colored image from the Lanterns Stamp Set. 

I also heat embossed the "Joy to the World" sentiment using gold powder on a strip of vellum. I wrapped it around the black panel and secured it in the back with clear tape for security.

I added a few sparkling clear sequins here and there for some added sparkle. I layered the entire black panel onto an A2 card base using foam squares.

My next card uses the same Cover Panel but this time die cut from white cardstock. I also used the poinsettia portion of the Wreath of Joy and a colorful assortment of the petals to create this colorful card. I was totally inspired by all of the rainbow designs from Laura Bassen; these products were just begging to be used like this! I also heat embossed the "Peace on Earth" sentiment, which is from the "free with $60 purchase" stamp set called Peace Tree. 

I didn't actually get a chance to use the fun images from that set, but the sentiment worked perfectly with this rainbow design. 

I used Laura's photography style for this card as well....she is a genius and I love her work so much! I really love how she uses two sheets of colored paper to ground her cards, so I thought I'd give it a try with this inspired card! 

To begin, I die cut all of the petal portions using scraps of assorted cardstock colors. I also die cut the base portion out of black. The larger of the  Circle Rays Duo confetti cuts worked perfectly as the backdrop for these pretty petals.

I used liquid glue to attach them in a circle and onto the poinsettia portion as well.  Once that was done, I added it to the Center Frame piece using foam squares. The entire panel was added to a top folding A2 Soft Stone card base.

My last two cards for today use the super fun and clever Lanterns and Lantern Additions stamp set. I created a Christmas card as well as an autumn card using the fun images included in these two sets.

As you can see, I used the fun Circle Rays Duo on this card as well, but this time the smaller of the two. It provided the perfect "shine" for the candle!

I'm head over heels in love with the collection of sentiments included in these two sets as well. I love the mix of the simple font paired with the beautiful scripted words!

I stamped the images in black and then colored them with an assortment of alcohol markers and then die cut them using the Lanterns and Lanterns Additions Confetti Cuts. 

 I added coarse crystal glitter to the lantern, the foliage as well as the lantern for some holiday shine!

Both cards got some white paint splatter to give the illusion of scattered light.

I placed a sequins directly behind the glow of the candle to help scatter light as well. I also added a trio of sparkling clear sequins here and there for added detail and shine.

I love blue and white pumpkins, so that is how I colored these two for this "gather together" card. This is such a fun set that I know I will be reaching for often during the holidays! Don't forget to hop along to the other designers' blogs to see the creative ways they've used these products!
