There's something magical about autumn skies! I tried to capture the essence and beauty of the autumn blue skies and contrasting leaves in this first card! This card is VERY layered with an assortment of die cuts and minimal stamping!
This card features the new and FABULOUS Gingko BotaniCuts! We had two Gingko trees in our front yard growing up; one male and one female! The female tree produces a foul smelling berry, and if you've every encountered one, you'll know what I am talking about! LOL! As children, we would step on the berries and discover that our shoes smelled like we had stepped in dog doodoo! From there on out, the name of the berries became "poo berries"! LOL! That being said, the leaves ARE beautiful and I'm grateful to have these fun leaves to create with! The two trees have since been cut down, so this is a fun nod to my childhood!
The BotaniCuts have two unique branches of leaves with a few single leaves to tuck here and there as you desire! I colored my leaves with Distress Oxide ink to get a realistic look!
I added some glitter here and there to capture a bit of the autumn sparkle that occurs as the sun twinkles through the trees!
For those of you who have fallen in love with hot foiling, you'll be pleased to see this beautiful new sentiment! You can also purchase it in stamp form, for those of you who are still on the fence about hot foiling!
I paired the sentiment with the new Leafy Branch stamp/die set! Betsy designed this set to have a very realistic feeling since it doesn't have a white border! I had fun stamping these leaves in different color combos!
I used gold foil on dark cardstock for a bold and dramatic look for the sentiment! I also foiled it in gold on Kraft, which was gorgeous, but I didn't think it would photograph well, so I tried this combo as well!
It is just the right size to fit inside the Halfsies Oval Die and the Leafy Branch frames it so well!
My 3rd and final card for today uses the new Pampas Grass stamp/die set AND the AMAZING new Wheat BotaniCuts! I'm seriously obsessed with the wheat and I know it will be used A LOT this fall!
I stamped the grasses in the colors that are included on the stamping guide because I love the muted pinks and rich browns for fall! I paired the foliage with the previously released Deco Triangles hot foil plate.
I felt like the pattern of the background also had an Aztec feel, which lent itself nicely to the wheat and grasses!
I layered the Kraft and gold background onto a blush card base to pick up the pink from the Pampas Grass!
Well, this concludes my projects for day 1, but join me again tomorrow for full reveals of the products for day 2! Make sure to head to the other designers' blogs to see how they've used these beautiful new products! Thanks for fluttering by!
