It's the 8th and that means it's time for the monthly Reverse Confetti Blog Hop! This one in particular is extra special because we're each showcasing a beautiful new stamp set called Snowflakes stamp set and coordinating Snowflakes Confetti Cuts which is shipping NOW!!! Make sure to scroll down to the bottom of my post to get the entire hop list to see how the other designers have used this fun set! Also, please head to the Reverse Confetti Blog to read special details on this particular stamp set.
For today's hop, I chose to make two similar, but different cards to showcase this fun set. When I sat down to work on these two cards, I didn't quite know the direction I would be heading in. I decided to use the sweater I was wearing as the inspiration for these two cards. I had been volunteering at my boys' school that day and the kids there are just the cutest. One girl walking by said, " I love your coat/sweater!" and the next girt walking by said, " I love your....face!" LOL! I thought it was hilarious!
For the Holiday Cheer card, I heat embossed the snowflakes in white and added some white Nuvo drops for added detail. I heat embossed the sentiment in silver powder on a strip of vellum to wrap around the card.
I used the Stitched Bursts Cover Panel to add the beautiful detail to the 4 by 5 1/4 inch panels. Once that was done, I added a white frame that is from the Stitched Note Frame Confetti Cut using foam squares for dimension.
At this point I was ready to get all of the beautiful embossed snowflakes added and the sentiment. As you can see, I wrapped the vellum strip around the entire card base as well, which I would recommend avoiding! Ha ha! I got a little carried away before I realized what I'd done!
I remedied that mistake on this "let it snow" design and just wrapped it around the main panel and then adhered it to a top folding A2 card base. These snowflakes are heat embossed in silver and the sentiment is in white for a different feel. I can't decide which combination I like better!
This card uses the larger of the two frames, but everything else is laid out similarly to the other! I hope you're enjoying today's hop! Here is the list of the other designers' blogs, so make sure to give them a little love! Thanks for fluttering by!
