May all of your wishes come true!

Hello, friends! Today I'm sharing a bright and colorful birthday card/gift card holder! I had so much fun using the Wishes Come True set last week that you can see on THIS card. I also made the card I'm sharing with you today because I just couldn't put it down! I mentioned last week that I am trying to build up my birthday card stash since it is pretty much depleted! The only cards I have left are the ones that are too bulky to be sent through the mail without having to pay and arm and a leg or that require irregular shaped envelopes. I plan on giving those out when my kids or I have birthday parties/lunches to go to.

This particular card has a gift card holder on the front, which is what the Unicorn is holding. I made an assortment of gift card holders using the Christmas Potbellies that you can see  HERE. This is just the same idea, but with it attached to an actual A2 card base.

To begin this card, I got to work die cutting all of the pieces I planned on using for the Unicorn. I gave a lot of tips for how I like to assemble these in THIS post. I just die cut everything out of white and either color them with markers or do some ink blending. It makes these unicorns come together so quickly. I added some chunky glitter to the hooves for some added sparkle and detail.

The actual gift card holder is created by die cutting the slot in the tummy portion using the Big Apple Die set that includes this piece. I used some paper from the Shakers and Sprinkles kit to create the gift card holder as well as the paper for the background. It is just the thing for this cute little unicorn! I measured an actual gift card so that I could get the dimensions right and just used a corner rounder punch for the bottom edges.
The candles are stamped and die cut using the Wishes Come True die. I took my color cues from the pattern paper. They are attached to the gift card holder using foam squares, but I made sure to position them in the middle so that the gift card holder could slide out easily. I also added a small sparkling clear sequin to the center of each of the candle flames for shine and detail!

The sentiment is heat embossed in gold onto black cardstock and added to the candles with a few additional foam squares. The corners of the background were also heat embossed in gold using one of the images from the Corner Adorner: January stamp set.  I just love the extra bit of detail it gives to this happy and colorful card! Thanks for fluttering by!
