I created the journal trying to use gender neutral colors, etc. If the baby turns out to be a girl, I will change the ribbon to pink. I added the "fortunes" that we got around the time I found out I was pregnant. I also included the only printed ultrasound picture as well as some fun stickers. I really liked the calendar sticker, because my due date is the 19th and it really will be a Tuesday. I thought that was fun.
I used Thickers for the numbers to represent each month. I didn't do any stamping, just paper, stickers and ribbon. I have a huge tote filled with assorted stickers and things that I use to scrapbook. I generally don't stamp my on my scrapbook pages, which seems weird.
I go to the Doctor on Friday and will hopefully be able to see if this is a boy or a girl. I was thinking some fun baby blog candy was in order, so I may be putting together some kind of "guess the gender" contest. I am off to go volunteer in my daughter's class. Thanks for fluttering by!

ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous!! What a neat thing to have!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. I am also expecting, #3, and have had some of the same feelings. Not because I did have a miscarriage before but because I am afraid that I will. I have had a few obstacles so far and possibly one more. I too decided to have a baby journal, I had one with my other 2. It has been great to be able to write down all the wonderful things that are happening. Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Love the collagey feel of this as well. This reminds me of the "if you build it they will come" idea. The fortune cookies and the Tuesday the 19th sticker all seem to fit. Good omen, eh? Can't wait to hear what you are having and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Kelly, this is amazing! I hope that you continue to have a happy and healthy pregnancy and I can't wait to hear what you are having!!
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea!!

What a lovely way to keep a journal!
ReplyDeleteI understand!!!! Our first baby is 4 1/2 months old now. I was apprehensive throughout the entire pregnancy because we'd miscarried before (both times took us over two years to conceive), heard other people's horror stories, and I had this fear that I would never get to be a mom. I didn't take the time to keep a pregnancy journal; I just kind of ignored the whole first half of the pregnancy. I wished now that I'd revelled in the joy of pregnancy and recorded my journey so I'd have it for our daughter. I'm so happy for you! What a wonderful little treasure this journal will be.
ReplyDeleteYEAH! Big congrats and what a cute project.
