Papertrey Ink November Release Countdown Day 1

Welcome to day 1 of the Papertrey Ink November release countdown! This month there is a fun mix of products to get you ready for the upcoming holiday/snow season and to celebrate the new year! My first card for today features the new The Bigs Winter Sentiments stamp/die set. 

I had so much fun creating this holiday card, but there is also a "Let it Snow" sentiment with a snowflake detail or snowman detail for the "O" in snow! I'm still building up my Christmas card collection, so I opted for this fun Christmas sentiment with the holly images included in the set.

To begin this card I created the background using white cardstock and the beautiful Fanciful Snowflake Background Hot Foil Plate. This is one of my favorite go-to plates to use all winter long; I wish there was something similar for year-round use....maybe a small leaf or something! Anyway, I use it often and I just love the results!

I used the new Love to Layer: Garnished Edges dies for the focal panel. I die cut it from Powder Green cardstock. One tip I will mention: I take the metal shim out of my die cutting sandwich when I cut most of the shapes in the Love to Layer series. I find they have a tendency to warp, but I get better results without the added pressure of the metal shim.

I die cut the sentiment and stamped it with both Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel ink for a gradient look. I die cut all of the berries and holly using The Bigs Winter Sentiments die set. I stamped the leaves with Pinefeather ink and the berries are stamped with both Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel ink, just like the letters.

I die cut the bow and additional holly elements using the Into the Blooms: Swag die and layered them over the top of the sentiment using foam squares. I used the stamping guide to help me with the stamped holly and berries.

I layered the background onto a panel of Powder Green cardstock and then glued the entire piece to a top-folding white card base with a Christmas greeting stamped on the inside. I spritzed the entire thing with shimmer spray and then added glitter to the berries and foliage for that holiday sparkle and shine I love so much!

My second card for today features the new It's Time stamp/die set paired with the new Clock Hot Foil Plate. This is such a fun new set and I love that it can be used for so many different occasions with the included sentiments. 

I didn't use the clock included in the stamp set, but used the new Clock Hot Foil Plate instead. I just love how it looks foiled in gold on this Ocean Tides cardstock.

To begin, I foiled the clock on the highest heat setting on my machine with gold foil on Ocean Tides cardstock. I used one of my Spellbinders Nestabilities Circle dies to cut it out. I set it aside and then got to work inking up the flowers and foliage using the Always in Bloom stamp set.

Once all of the flowers were done, I die cut the background using the Love to Layer: Torn Edges Die from white cardstock. I layered it onto an A2 panel of Ripe Avocado cardstock using foam squares.

I arranged the clock on top of the background and then added the flowers and leaves using foam squares.

There is a coordinating die for each of the sentiments included in the It's Time stamp set. I chose this one in particular so I can give this card to a dear, sweet friend who fractured her hip and is now in a rehabilitation facility for a few weeks.

I can't wait to use this set again with the clock stamp, but I have to admit I love the foiled clock! Thanks for fluttering by!
