Hello and welcome to day 2 of full reveals for the Fireside Holiday Collection from The Greetery! I am so excited to be here with you sharing some projects using some absolutely phenomenal new products! I have A LOT to share, but first, make sure to leave a comment here and on each designers' blog for a chance to win one of two $50 gift certificates to the shop. Also, you'll want to head to The Greetery Blog for the official "meet and greet" for each of today's featured products!
I'm positively giddy about the new Arch Box Large and Arch Box Small Dies! I'm showing the large box with this project, but I'll be showing a project with the small box a little bit later on this month! One of the things I like most about this particular box is that is is a nice size to fit treats or a small gift!
This project also features the new North Pole Post, the Post Box Details Die AND the darling new Fancy Feet die....everything you need to create this adorable postal themed box! Of course, you know me, I pulled in some previously released favorites to really gussy up this festive box!
Before I began any of today's projects, I got to work making all kinds of details I knew I would want to dress up my creations! First, I die cut a BUNCH of foliage and flowers from the Winter Medley Die. If you've been around awhile, then you know that I use this particular set of dies for almost EVERY release! I just can't seem to resist tucking little sprigs of flowers and leaves here and there on my projects to bring them to life! The next step was to create all kinds of festive mail so I used the Sent With Love Die to create colorful envelopes and twine! The next step was to create stacks of packages using the Holiday Hatchback Toppers: Luggage Die and the Gifts Galore Die. Once all of that was done (whew!) it was time to get started!
As I mentioned earlier, this is the large box and you will need to cut two to assemble the box! Assembly is a BREEZE and these boxes come together so easily. I did use the curve of a quilling tool (or you could simply use a pencil) to "shape" the top so it moves with the curve of the arch. I die cut the Fancy Feet from gold cardstock and attached them with liquid glue. The basic half-circle piece and the rectangle on the front are from the Post Box Details die, but the sentiments are heat embossed and die cut using the North Pole Post stamp/die set! I had fun adorning the box with bits and pieces from my stash of little elements I created first!
My second project is a flat gift card holder using the Post Box Details die and images from the North Pole Post stamp/die set. There is a slit die included in the Post Box Details die collection that is just the right size to fit a gift card. It is actually the die that created the gold bar above the lock, but it is underneath the flap and the gift card is tucked inside.
The gift card holder was created using two die cut Arches. I die cut the slit on the one and then glued them together back to back just around the perimeter so the gift card could slide between the two layers. I gussied up the front using more of the bits and bobs!
I used the Fancy Feet again on this project, but I just needed two and they are just folded in half and secured with glue.
The gift card gets tucked behind the door; this was created using another option included in the Post Box Details die...such a cute detail!
Please note: the POST letters are included in the Post Box Details die as well as MAIL, that I didn't use, but is included.
My next project features the new Dear Santa stamp/die set and pairs so well with the postal themed products that were released earlier this year AND the new North Pole Post stamp/die set.
To begin this card, I used the Air Mail Postal Border Stencils in the traditional red and green Christmas colors....it's a theme for today! ha ha! Once that was done, I used the Postcard Details Pierce Plate vertically because I wanted a top-folding A2 card. I stamped the Dear Santa in black and then added it to the pierced lines using foam squares for dimension.
Next, I added some of the North Pole Post images; the stamp, the green embossed piece and the gold seal/postmark.
I forgot to mention earlier, when I was creating all of the the elements before I began my projects, I also made some pinecones and pine sprigs using the BotaniCuts: Pine Bough Die. I used them to embellish this card.
For those of you who are loving the Flourished series, you're going to love the new Flourished Phrases Merry stamp/stencil/die combo!
I created another airmail border and then used the Flourished Phrases: Merry stamp set to add the "may your Christmas be" and "& Bright". I'm particularly smitten with the font on the "& Bright" because it coordinates with the Merry so well!
If you have used any of the Flourished Phrases before, then you know just how easy they are to use! I did the stenciling and then all of the die cutting and then put everything together!
I always love adding a touch of pink to my holiday projects for a nostalgic feel!
My final two projects for today features the GORGEOUS new Ribbon Frame Die/Stencil and the new Rosemary and Berries die set.
These particular products work so well together and are so easy to use! I die cut both frames from red cardstock and then added the stenciling to create the shadows. The Rosemary and Berries are die cut from white cardstock and then colored using distress oxide inks and some details using colored pencils.
I just couldn't resist using the "Peace "sentiment" that was showcased yesterday from the Scripted Holiday Sentiments stamp/die set! And, that meant I needed to pull out the Peaceful Doves Die and the Peaceful Doves Details stamp set. I showed my daughter this card when I was finished and she mentioned that the doves with the ribbons reminds her of Cinderella! That's always what I think of when I see vintage cards with birds pulling the ribbons! One of my very favorite details in vintage pieces!
I used the Press N' Seal technique for both of these cards; I simply laid the ribbon frame and the rosemary out exactly where I wanted it and then added the Press N' Seal over the top, gently removed it, added liquid glue to the back and then carefully glued it back down. Once the glue was tacky enough, I was able to lift the Press N' Seal off. I added the sprigs of flowers and doves once that was done.
For the sentiments on both cards, I simply laid everything out and then stamped the sentiments.
I love the vintage feeling of the Ribbon Frame, but I also have some other ideas with this frame I can't wait to try, so stay tuned!
Well friends, this concludes my post for day 2 and everything will be available for purchase beginning tomorrow at 10 am EDT. Don't forget to head to the other designers' blogs! Thanks for fluttering by!
