Papertrey Ink May Release Countdown Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the Papertrey Ink May countdown! I'm sharing two cards with you today and up first is this floral card using the new Into the Blooms: Geraniums die paired with the new Psalm Reflections: May stamp/die! There are a few other new goodies that I will talk about as I explain how I created this card!

To begin, I die cut all of  the pieces that are included in the Into the Blooms: Geraniums die collection 3 times so I would have enough to create the arrangement I was hoping for. In the end, I wasn't able to lay the card out how I envisioned, but it was sure fun to have all of those pretty blooms and leaves to play around with! I colored them with Distress Oxide inks to bring them to life.

I heat embossed the Psalm using white detail powder onto a panel of Sweet Blush cardstock. I also heat embossed the extra details at the top and bottom of the sentiment; these are separate stamps that are included with this month's Psalm and there are coordinating dies to cut them out.

I used the new bracket collection that will be showcased tomorrow (shhhh.....) to die cut the sentimnent. I just really liked how well it fits this particular sentiment!

I cut a panel of Mint Julep cardstock and then layered the scalloped frame over the top that was cut using the previously released Border Bling: Scalloped Frame using liquid glue. From there I was able to stamp the cute corner details using the fun new Corner Decor stamp set. I didn't realize how much I was going to love this seemingly simple new set; I have used it on almost all of my cards so far!

Once that was done, I was able to add the sentiment panel using foam squares, the extra details to the top and bottom of the sentiment, and then arrange the beautiful geraniums. I plant geraniums every year, so t was fun to make these paper varieties! I can't wait to use them all summer long! I particularly enjoy putting flags in my pots of red geraniums every July, so that will be fun to make something similar with paper! I added glitter and sequins to finish off this floral design!

Up next is a baby card using the new Baby Bibs dies paired with the new Just Sentiments: Welcome, AND, you guessed it: Corner Decor! ha ha! I die cut the main bib portions using Bitty Big: Pink Posey pattern paper and then glued it together using foam squares. I wanted to enhance that this is a bib with a pocket, so that is why I used the foam squares. There is a separate die for the tie and the lace around the edges; there are quite a few options for different ways to decorate the bib, but I chose the tie and the lace.

I stamped "Hello Sunshine" on the front of the bib and the glued the flowers and leaves to the bottom; these are dies that are included in the Baby Bib Dies collection. I set the bib aside and got to work on the rest of the card.

I cut an A2 panel of striped Bitty Big: Pink Posey paper and then stamped the sentiment, which is also included in the new Just Sentiments: Welcome stamp set, in black. I layered the frame over the top and then placed the bib in the center using foam squares.

I put together some flowers and leaves using the Into the Blooms: Blossoming Beauties that I was planning on using for another card, but they looked so cute tucked in the corners, they just had to stay! I also added some additional corner details to each cluster and the opposite corners using the new Corner Decor.

I added some glitter for some sparkle and shine!

As you visit the other designers' blogs, you will see all of the different options for the bibs....so many possibilities! Join me again tomorrow for day 2 of the countdown! Thanks for fluttering by!
