Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink April release countdown! Just like yesterday, I'm sharing a bit of floral, and a bit of masculine! Up first is the gorgeous new Vase Collection 17 stamp/die set. I think this is probably my new favorite from the series; it is really easy to use and has stunning results!
I stamped the flower pot using Soft Stone and Weathervane ink and the flowers/leaves are stamped using Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, and Ripe Avocado; the flowers are Harvest Gold and Summer Sunrise.
I used the new Love to Layer: Delightful Brackets to anchor the pot of flowers. I die cut the largest in the set from Lemon Tart cardstock and then the middle size out of white. I put them all together using foam squares for dimension. I did add some Summer Sunrise ink around the edges of the Lemon Tart piece for contrast.
Since I got sick during the last release, I haven't been able to most of the new products, so I decided to play around with the Stitch Crochet stencils for the background. I used Simply Chartreuse ink on a panel of Spring Moss cardstock and then used the Cover Plate Quilted Die over the top for additional detail and depth.
The sentiment is from the Tuck It: Sentiments stamp set and I stamped it in black and then added it to the side of the foliage.
I did add a bit of extra detail to the flowers and leaves using colored pencil and Copic markers. I added a dot of black to each of the centers of the flowers using a fine-tip marker. In the end, this card was giving me vintage vibes from my childhood; most likely a comforter, kitchen decor, or perhaps a bathroom with an avocado sink, tub, and toilet....and probably yellow toilet paper, to boot! ha ha! While I can't pin point any specific memory, it is definitely there in my subconscious! ha ha! Regardless, I did enjoy creating this thinking of you card!
My next card uses the new Just For Dad stamp/die set paired with the new Dad dies. I also used the new Chevron stencils for the background.
The sentiment at the bottom is from the new Tuck It: Dad stamp set that will be showcased tomorrow.
There are a lot of really cute little images for all of your masculine projects. I chose a few that pertain to my husband, although I did add the fishing pole because I though it was cute; my husband is not a fisherman! Also, the sunglasses are supposed to be just that: sunglasses, but my husband doesn't wear any, but he does wear regular glasses, so that it what I made! ha ha! Thanks for fluttering by!
Love your Thinking of You card! The vase/urn and flowers are so gorgeous!! Your DAD card is really handsome, too!
ReplyDeleteLove the bright colors on your first card! (Even tho they remind you of the old bathroom! ) 😊 The Dad card is awesome & I love how you made it personal for your hubby!
