Welcome friends! I don't think there is anything quite as wonderful as Christmas at The Greetery, am I right? Today is day 1 of the Merry Makings release countdown and it is a fabulous one! Betsy always makes certain that our holiday crafting will be special and unique! I've got three projects to share with you today and don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win one of the gift certificates. You can read all about the new release on The Greetery Blog and I will share the links of the other designers at the bottom of this post!
My first card is jam-packed with lots of new goodies paired with a few older things to pull it all together! It's hard to play favorites with all of the new products, but I am absolutely LOVING the new "Wood Slice dies"! My mind has been racing with all of the design possibilities...I barely had a chance to scratch the surface with this release! I was really wanting to create a card using these paired with the Toadstool Garden BotaniCuts. I'm seeing some fresh fall cards coming soon using that combo!
The BotaniCuts Pine Bough was the perfect addition for these holiday cards paired with the new Merry Sprigs stamp set. I love mixing holiday berries and sprigs with Pinecones and Pine boughs!
I squealed when I saw the new Written In Ribbons: Holiday stamp set and dies! These will be getting their own workout, I can tell! They are just beautiful and I love the coordinating smaller sentiments to finish off any holiday project!
This next collection of products speaks to my vintage Christmas loving heart! I always want to make authentic looking vintage Christmas projects, but something always seems to be missing. This new Banner and Bough stencil/stamp combo fills any gaps and is absolutely PERFECT! From the fonts, to the banner, to the greenery, this one is a keeper! If you loved the Easter Jubilee kit, this is a similar type kit. I chose to make one card using JUST the stencils and stamps (on the right) and one using both the stencils, stamps and DIES.
I think this kit is perfect for mass producing holiday designs, especially if you use the stencil/stamp combo and use a stamp positioner. I chose to use the exact same colors for both cards so you could compare them against each other.
I added a few extra die cut sprigs of greenery and some glitter and Jewels to the berries and flowers for some holiday sparkle!
I layered everything up onto a panel that is die cut using the Crimped Frame dies with some added ink blending around the edges. Betsy has included a masking stencil as well ( I used it on the stencil/stamp only card) that you can layer over the top of the main image to add some ink blending if you wish.
I also added some ink splatter for even more detail. It's such an easy thing to do but really adds a little something extra!
My last project for today is a series of tags using the Wood Slices BotaniCuts, Written in Ribbons: Holiday AND Merry Sprigs! I stamped a bunch of the Merry Sprigs so I could tuck them in here and there on lots of projects and they worked perfectly for these rustic tags! I can't wait to add these to my Christmas gifts and treats!
I just love how the banner looks paired with the wood slices and the sprigs! Vintage, yet modern all at the same time! Don't forget to stop by the other designers' blogs for more inspiration using these new products! Thanks for fluttering by!
