Happy Friday, friends! I'm over on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today sharing these two cards with a focus on sentiments! I'm also sharing them here! I've been dying to use the Whole Lot of Awesome stamp set so I used it for one of today's cards! I also used some die cut letters to create my own custom sentiment paired with a heat embossed stamped sentiment to reinforce the word JOY!
To begin this floral design, I heat embossed the Floral Diamond Background stamp onto a panel of white cardstock measuring 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches using white embossing powder. Once that was done, I added some Sweet Mustard ink around the perimeter using a blender brush. I also added some Marigold ink for a darker color around the edges, but first I die cut the edges using the Essentials: Diagonal stitched rectangles. . I purposely cut the panel a little larger because I knew I would be doing the diecutting. I love the emboss resist technique used with this particular background! The white left in the middle of the panel set the stage perfectly to add the beautiful Modern Layered Floral stamp.
The JOY letters are die cut using the Adore Alpha die set with some ink blending and ink splatter toward the bottom and getting lighter toward the top. I layered these over the top of the floral bouquet using foam squares. I heat embossed the "wishing you joy today" sentiment, which is also from the Modern Floral stamp set, in gold onto a strip of vellum that is attached to the back of the panel using clear tape. I also added one of the sweet die cut bows from theArtistic Bows die collection. I did the same inkblending as I did on the letters for cohesion. I added ink to both the back and the front of the bow portion so that it would show when it was twisted and glued. I use my paper quilling tool to get the paper rounded, but you could also just use a pen or paintbrush if you like.
I also added some white Nuvo drops and Jewels here and there for some added detail!
My very first stamp set from Pinkfresh Studio was Magical Unicorn and I've had so much fun using it for different occasions. I decided to breath some fresh life into this cutie by pairing it with this new Whole Lot of Awesome stamp set. I felt like if was the perfect complement to this sweet unicorn flaunting her sparkly ears and heat embossed horn. The larger slim dies make creating a design like this a breeze!
I also gave her a little make-over by adding the amazing flowers from the Lovely Blossoms stamp set around her ears. She looks so cute flaunting her new blooms! ha ha!
To begin, I die cut both panels from the Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles and added some ink blending around the perimeter of the smaller one since it is the focal panel. I also die cut one of the designs from the Slim Lacey Edgers dies and did the same ink blending on those. I attached them to the smaller panel using ScorTape for security. I heat embossed the "You're a Whole Lot of Awesome" sentiment in gold ink for added detail.
I used my MISTI to get her eyes aligned and stamped correctly. I've always used the backer that the stamp set comes on to get them aligned just right. I'm amazed at how you can really change the look of an image that has eyes if they are too close or too far apart! LOL! I think I did a good job with these! After that I got to work adding the sparkly ears and horn and arranging the blossoms around her ears and horn! I also used the cute star cluster image here and there for some added detail. This entire panel is added to the larger one using foam squares for even more dimension. A few jewels finish of this design! I had so much fun working on these two designs using the sentiments as the focus! I hope you get some creative time this weekend! Thanks for fluttering by!
