I've been so excited for today's Inspired By Challenge because I always love creating seasonal cards; especially beach-y ones! As soon as I saw the inspiration photo, I knew that I would be taking quite a literal approach to the challenge because it would mean I could use the amazing Fence Line: Summer stamp set! It is one of my favorites, but I don't use it nearly as much as I'd like to! I also paired it with some of my favorite pattern papers as well. These are from a paper pad I got at Hobby Lobby a few years ago called Blue Cottage or something like that!
I was inspired by the blue and white textiles, the wooden poles, and of course, the beach!
Since I couldn't decide on which blue pattern paper that I liked the best, I just decided to make two cards instead! LOL! I organized all of my cards the other day and filed them by category; let me just tell you...I didn't NEED to make 2 cards! Ha ha! And that was AFTER I mailed out a huge stack the other day!
To begin these two cards, I decided on the two blue patterns I wanted to use and trimmed them down to 4 by 5 1/4 inch panels. I adhered them to standard A2 card bases using Tombow Mono Adhesive. I die cut two white panels using the Nesting Basics: Pierced Rectangles as well as the Nesting Basics: Rectangles. Once that was done, I used my mini MISTI to stamp the sentiment. I stamped the 'happiness' portion, which is from the Words to Live By: Happiness mini stamp set, in black and then the 'is knowing you' portion in Weathervane ink.
I stamped the sand image at the bottom of the white panel and set them aside to get to work stamping the other design elements. Once again, I used my mini MISTI to get everything stamped quickly and precisely.
I used the coordinating Fence Line: Summer die collection to die cut everything. Once that was done, I had fun putting all of the beach-y elements here and there.
I had a lot of fun working on these two designs. I hope you get a chance to join us this week! Thanks for fluttering by!
