Welcome friends, to this month's Traveler's Journal post! I had a ball putting this together and I hope you'll join me as I explain all of the fun detail in today's project! There's a lot to see and explain, so will just dive right in! To begin, I am using the new Traveler's Journal: Passport Cover Die! This is the new one that was released last month. You can see my project with it from July HERE. It is the perfect size for today's project as well. What I have created is a journal filled with samples of cardstock, ink, felt, and more!I am so happy with how it turned out and I know that it will come in so handy as I plan and execute my projects!
The outer cover is decorated with die cuts that are included in the Passport Cover Die. They are all so much fun and they will get used a ton in the upcoming months, so watch out! LOL!I also created this super fun pom pom jumbo paper clip using some teal yarn. I love having coordinating clips for all of my journals. They are essential for clipping and securing bits and bobs!
This first section holds all of the Papertrey Ink ink colors. As you can see, I don't actually have the full collection, but they are all in my cart ready to be purchased! LOL! The tiny flower that I stamped the ink swatches in is from the VERY FIRST PTI stamp set called "Paper Tray". I haven't pulled it out in YEARS, but thought it would be fun to include and give a nod to the past! I wanted to show you how I folded the charts so they fit in the journal, but are easily pulled out to see the entire piece. The ink section is folded, and the felt section is unfolded so you can compare. I also don't have the entire collection of felt. The places that are blank are the colors I don't own and the black Xs are stamped on the colors that they don't carry, if that makes sense. I wouldn't want to confuse myself and think I needed some Lovely Lady felt only to realize that they don't carry it. These little charts are something that I made in a word document and if anyone is interested in a copy, I would be happy to email it to you. The little hearts that I used to die cut the felt are the centers of one of the die cuts that come with the Passport Cover. I used the outer portion of the felt pieces as embellishments throughout the project.
I used a small circle punch to punch out all of the cardstock colors and secured them with glue. I DO have a complete cardstock collection! LOL! I used the Fresh Alphabet to stamp out all of the words in rainbow colors. This particular set is being discontinued, so if you want it, you can get it at a discount! Wahoo! It is one of my favorites! I also used many of the tiny words from the Traveler's Journal: Currently stamps set which is also being discontinued! I just love how they added just the right feeling for today's project!
I have a board on Pinterest called "Color Me Happy" that I have to put all kinds of color combinations that I LOVE or want to try. I decided to bring them to life in this particular section of my journal. I didn't actually photograph that part because it is the backside of the "color me happy" page! LOL! Anyway, I just used a larger circle punch and punched out the cardstock that I felt represented the color combinations the best and then glued them together in a line. I will continue to do this as I pin them on Pinterest, and add them to my journal.
You can see the felt pieces that I was talking about earlier. They look so cute as embellishments for my Traveler's Journal: Passport Page Blanks cover. I also used more of the included dies! I just love how this bright and colorful journal turned out! It was a lot of work, but watching it come alive makes it all worth it! It will be such a fun resource for me to use as I create! Thanks for fluttering by!
This is such a good idea for organization of colors! I have loose papers lying about with colors. This will be much better. I also have that original Paper Tray stamp and it does bring back memories :-) I would love it if you would email me the Word file that you created with the colors already typed out to debbie.petersen@gmail.com Thank you so much for your hard work and inspiration!
