Welcome, Welcome! Today I am celebrating a BIG milestone...my blog turns 10 today! I can't believe it's been 10 YEARS! What a journey this has been...an amazing journey! I want to share a verse of song with you that I sang in church a few weeks ago that really struck a chord with me (no pun intended); it says" Our talents improve, by the patience of hope and the labor of love." This blog has definitely been a labor of love and I've definitely needed patience of hope many times when I felt like quitting and questioned why I was even continuing keeping up with it. For those of you who have been with me since the beginning, you know of my journey. While I set out to share my love of papercrafting, my life took a course that led away from my ability to share as often as I liked or wanted. I wouldn't trade my beautiful children for the world and I am so grateful for them. Things have gotten easier and I made a New Year's resolution at the beginning of 2017 that I would blog more. Wow! I am so glad that I did! It has been SO MUCH FUN getting back into the creative world and reconnecting with old friends and making new ones!
As I have shared my love of papercrafting this year, I have been introduced to so many new friends, companies, products, etc. Not only that, but I have had so many fun opportunities come my way that I am so grateful for! For a while, I felt like my time had come and gone and that there wasn't a place for me here anymore. That certainly isn't true and I'm happy to say that I didn't let the negativity get the better of me! I would encourage all of you, if you are struggling, to simply press forward! If you feel passion for something, it will always be a part of your life! My life has been so much happier, mentally, as I have taken the time to work on the things that bring me joy. Creating is a central point of my happiness and I am so thrilled to have this little place to call my own where I can share what I love! As a thank you, I am offering a $50 Papertrey Ink Gift Certificate to one of my lucky readers! Leave a comment on how you found my blog and I will draw a winner next Sunday the 21st!
I thought this sentiment said it perfectly and is from A life she loved from Taylored Expressions. I heat embossed it in white onto a strip of red cardstock. I stamped the paint brush image using black ink onto a piece of white cardstock and colored it using Copic Markers. After it was colored, I die cut it using the coordinating DIES. I added a little Wink of Stella to the paintbrush handles for some sparkle. Once they were cut, I added them onto a circle of Sea Glass cardstock to help ground the image.
For the background, I ran the Hexagon Die coverplate through my Cuttlebug, but I used the tan embossing pad so that it wouldn't cut, just emboss it. I wanted it to look more like a quilt and I like the embossed lines. After that was done, I ran it through again, but this time cutting it so that I would have the little Hexagons to stamp. I used the coordinating Happy Hexagons stamp set to stamp the images in a variety of colors. I adhered them to the background with foam squares for some dimension.
The entire focal panel was added to an A2 Sea Glass card base. This was such a fun card to make and I appreciate you stopping by today! Thanks for fluttering by!
I for one, am so happy to get to know you and meet you through this wonderful creative endeavor. Happy Anniversary to you! Ten years deserves a round of applause! I'm glad you pressed forward.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on 10 years of blogging! I started following your blog pretty recently, after finding you on a hop. I loved your style and knew I wanted to come back to see more of your creations! Today's card is lovely... beautiful die to create your background. Reminds me of a quilt.
ReplyDeleteI have been a fan of yours for a long time. I saw you ATC’s in a book called “Rubber Stamping ATCs”, copyright 2008 and followed you on PTI and missed you when you were having those adorable babies. We have such similar tastes because I have almost the identical PTI stamps. Congrats on 10 years of blogging. You are definitely a favorite. I hope you continue blogging for years, love your creativity and ideas. ❤️💕💕❤️😍
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 10 beautiful and inspirational years blogging! I can’t remember how we met but I am pretty sure that it was through a blog Hop since I do so many of them! I think hops are an inspirational and fun way to make new friends and learning new techniques!
ReplyDeleteYour card is totally awesome! I really, really, really love those pretty hexagons! Great idea to use foam to pop them up! TFS!
Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary! I found you on Pinterest and have been a huge fan of your work ever since! This card is amazing. I love every detail. Your style stands out as unique and incredibly beautiful. So happy you continue to share with us!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 10 Blog-iversary! I will be honest I don't really recall how I found you blog, maybe through Merry Monday, but anyway...love your wonderful blog and all your incredible creations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 10 years! That definitely deserves to be celebrated. I've read your blog for several years, so don't remember exactly how I got here - probably from the PTI forum or SCS. It has been long enough that I definitely remember when your fourth child was born, and probably back to the third. I love your style, and hope that you will happily continue creating and sharing.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 10 year blog-versary!!! I found your blog through your Instagram account! This card is beautiful, it reminds me of my mother, she sews and quilts!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you sharing your thoughts and feelings on negativity and how we can all still contribute and progress! I also love how you make time to do things that bring you joy! For about four years I had to put aside my paper crafting hobby for nursing school and it was so very hard not to be able to create! Now that school is done, I’ve jump back in to creating and it’s made such a difference in my life!!! Thank you for sharing your talents and joy!!! Your projects are beautiful!
Hi Kelly and Hapoy Anniversary! I’m pretty sure that I started following your blog when you started designing for PTI. Either way I really enjoy your work and I look forward to many more years of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteFabulous card with the hexagons and congrats on your milestone. Can't exactly remember how I found your blog--probably from a blog hop.

Wow, ten years is pretty amazing. I'm glad to see you posting your projects again! I've been following you a long time, so I don't remember how I found your blog. Probably through Splitcoaststampers years ago. It's nice to hear that even the well-known stampers struggle with those feelings, because it's a regular battle for me. I love your card with all those pretty patterns!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I found you from a blog hop, probably PTI. I can still picture the card you entered --it was PTI brushed blooms, and you used the prettiest pinks for the flowers and "framed" it with a mint green PTI you've been framed: oval. I have those products, so I was especially interested in your card. I pinned it so fast! and I must have visited your blog a dozen or so times to just get another look at that card! I love looking at your sewing stuff, too, as I also sew. Congratulations on your amazing accomplishment!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 10 years! I really like this card! It resonates with what I'm trying to do for myself right now.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could remember how I found you; but I've been following you for eight of your ten years. It may have been in conjunction with PTI somehow, because I've been following them for about the same amount of time.
Wow! Congratulations on 10 years! Your card is fabulous! I love the background that you made and the saying is perfect.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 10 year blogversary. Love your wonderful card. I found your blog through being on a design team with you and have definitely enjoyed perusing it and seeing all your lovely creations. You are very talented. Thanks for sharing that talent through your blog.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 10 year blog anniversary Kelly!! I was sooo happy to recently see you are back creating and blogging full time! I followed you years and years ago, probably from the early PTI days, until you took a break with your last child.
ReplyDeleteI love your amazing designs, you are truly gifted and I'm so happy to be able to see your gorgeous creations on a much more frequent basis!
Congratulations on your 10-year blog anniversary! I have followed your blog for years and years ever since you were featured on Nichole Heady's blog. I am always glad when your blog posts show up in my email because I know you will give me ideas for my PTI stash.
ReplyDeleteCongrats and Happy New Year!
Josiane (jfong on the PTI forum)
Kelly, many congratulations on your 10 year blog-aversary! I love that your church son inspired your post opening ♥ Your card is just gorgeous, with the crisp look and vivid colors - and the sentiment speaks to the heart of many crafters!

Congratulations on your 10 years of blogging and creating beautiful projects for all of us to sigh over. ;) I just realized my blog is 9 years old this year and can hardly believe it. It is amazing how fast the time has gone by. I found your blog when I was looking at the designer cards at Merry Monday Christmas Card Club. Your card had grabbed my attention and I had to check it out further. From then on I was "hooked." ;) Again congratulations and keep up the wonderful work!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 10 years! What a milestone!! I've been following you for so many years that I can honestly say I don't remember how I found you. LOL But I'm sure glad I did. Your work has always inspired me!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Kelly - just love all the layers and patterns! And what a great quote from your song - would love to know what song it's from. Congrats on 10 yrs of blogging - it goes fast doesn't it?! So glad I met you through Merry Monday - you are soooo talented!

ReplyDeleteHappy 10 year blogaversary Kelly! I'm not exactly sure how I found you, but it was definitely through a blog hop of some sort, whether it was the Seasons Giving blog hop or an MFT hop, I can't remember! But I love the creativity and inspiration you share with all of us and look forward to what you have for us in year 11 :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 10 years!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through PTI--I followed it because I love your style! I am so glad you are blogging more, it inspires me that you can do all the creative things you do with five kids! I just went back to work and it gives me hope that I will be able to still be creative as well.

I don't know how I lost you but I saw your work again this morning and it clicked I know that girl. You add such detail to your impeccable cards. Thank you for sharing your talent all these years. I will be looking toward your future projects.

ReplyDelete10 years is a big anniversary--congrats! I found your blog because we're now teammates at PRS. I adore this card & you've inspired me to use my hexagon cover plate with patterned paper--something I never do!
ReplyDeleteI remember you from WAY back - maybe in your first year of doing this blog! I've always admired your work! I "found" you again recently, and so glad I did! Congratulations, and welcome back!!

ReplyDeleteWow, congratulations on the amazing milestone!! I found your blog a number of years ago, probably through Splitcoast Stampers. I remember the gorgeous paper banners you created for each holiday throughout the year, and how you would hang them on a cute little shelf. I think pictures of the banners used to make up your blog header for awhile. I'd love to see some of those banners again if you still have them, they were truly works of art! Here's to another 10 years :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!
