I needed a few Halloween cards to mail out this week and I couldn't help but use the current Color Throwdown Challenge as my inspiration! The photo is amazing as well and another major inspiration! I had so much fun putting these two cards together!
To begin, I sponged some Seedless Preserves and Black Soot Distress Oxide ink onto two 4 by 5 1/4 inch white card fronts. After it was inked to my liking, I spritzed it HEAVILY with some Shimmer Spray. While those were drying, I die cut some black cardstock using the To the Point Edger Dies to mimic the look of a spooky hill. I thought it turned out great!
I adhered the black piece to the dry sponged card front using foam squares for some dimension. I also die cut two moons using a circle die from Spellbinders, two fences and trees using the Tiny Town: Spooky Yard Dies.
I stamped and colored the cute little ghost and hat using the Spooky Smiles stamp set! I just love this set! After everything was colored, I die cut them using the coordinating Die Cuts.
I really should have thought about the sentiment a little bit better as I was building my scene, but in the end, the "boo to you" sentiment looked great directly embossed onto the hill. I used the Nuvo shimmering pearl embossing powder, which turned out perfect for this card! I had so much fun putting these together and I can't wait to pop them in the mail! Thanks for fluttering by!
