Making room for baby
With the upcoming arrival of baby number 4, we need to make some room. With the bathroom/laundry room complete, it is now time to move onto phase 2 of our project which is to turn my craft space into my oldest son's bedroom. The walls will be going up on Friday, which means I need to get the space cleared out. I will be downsizing in a major way and will not be stamping at all in the upcoming weeks. I thought I would let you know so that you don't think that I have fallen off the face of the earth. I should be back in a few weeks stamping from my new space, which might be a 2 foot by 2 foot corner, but I will be stamping! LOL! At least I have some great photos of my space from Stampin' Success a few years back. Sniff Sniff...It is sad saying goodbye!
yay for baby #4 but so sad to see the craft area go. I know I use a small corner in our living room but I can only imagine how hard it is to go from a room to a corner. Good luck finding inspiration in your new area.
ReplyDeleteThat's a big job ahead. Your craft room looks fantastic - wish I had seen the photos. I know you will surely miss it, but it won't be long till you are organised again. Good Luck.

Ah, Kelly! I remember this article well...even down to the matching curtains..marvelous space! Sniff, sniff is right...but yes, yea for baby #4!
ReplyDeleteOh Kelly, I know you will miss your room, but this time will go by so fast and some day you will wish you didn't have your room! Well, maybe not completely, but you know what I mean!! LOL! They grow up waaayy too fast!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Teri
I feel guilty reading your post today--my craft room is a disaster room and with orders and projects I've taken over the dining room table as well (It's just hubby and 4 cats in our house...)! And here you are giving up your room--good reason, though! Prayers for a safe delivery! Blessings, Sharon
ReplyDeleteJust think ...less room = less mess to cleanup with your limited time but a baby will be in you hearts and lives forever.Take some time for yourself too with your busy schedule and life. Hugs from Michigan.
ReplyDeleteYour creative talent is amazing and a gift that will always be with you, but now the focus is family! Hang in there, I'm sure you'll figure out an appropriate space...but I do feel for you to be balancing all of this!!
ReplyDeleteMay your delivery be swift and safe, and the new baby a perfect delight! Looking forward to pictures this summer!
I like your photo from your craft room, just wish I zoom in on it to see it closer!
ReplyDeleteYour oldest child is probably super excited to get a new room! I know you'll be creating some amazing cards and more in the future, regardless of the little cubby or where ever your new space may be. Best wishes to you and the soon to be new bay!
I recently added a link to your banner tutorial to my blog so I can access it easily when ever I feel like creating a banner inspired by you! Thank you!
Kids are some much more rewarding than crafting! Enjoy your children, they grow so fast. I tell my girls--you only have one chance raising your children, Give it your all!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is expecting #4. Her 5 year old boy is so full of energy and has been since day one. She often says that Harrison is her hobby!
But he starts school this year, he is well adjusted thanks to a full time mom.
Sorry for the epistle, I know some mothers work that's fine. But I do know you will never regret the time you spend with your kids. But I know you know this.
Thanks for letting an old lady rant! I do love your artwork.
Good luck.
Ahhh, congrats on the baby! :)
ReplyDeleteFirstly-I love your posts, they are highlights and tones of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI am expecting too: 30 days to go! I feel in the same boat with you, with one "little" difference-my baby is nr.2. You are a hero to me to have 4 children and energy and time to craft!
Secondly-my craft corner was from the beginning tiny tiny: a desk and one cabinet. I always thought, I have the smallest hobby space in the world, but honestly I also have good ideas there and was pretty well organized (you can't have a mess otherwise no room to craft!). Now waiting for my stuff coming from Canada to South Africa (still on the way to me in the container, somewhere near Singapore...), looking forward to organizing new hobby corner. The only question: will I have time and energy to do crafts with 2 small kiddies? We'll see!
Good luck with everything and waiting for your come back!
I totally remember that issue!!!! That was you!!! I was wowed over you space! But baby needs space too, so it's all good! I am on the fence about having baby #4 (I have 3 boys)....any advice/thoughts you have would be much appreciated! I ached like mad with #3 and being 3 years older now, I can't see it going well!
ReplyDeleteIt is extremely helpful for me. Thanks for such a valuable help again.
