I wanted to incorporate the lyrics onto the banner, so at the top of each panel I printed out a part of the song and in most cases decorated it accordingly. It was fun digging through my stash of buttons and things to find things that would be fitting. These are the types of projects that I love using things that I had previously been hoarding because I will use the banner again and again. This will actually be perfect in my studio since the paper matches the curtains perfectly as you can see in the photos.
I have come way more than full circle with my banners. I now have at least one for each season/ holiday and in some cases, more than one. I just can't stop!
My daughter went to her friend's birthday party in October and came home with a sack full of these little tickets. I asked her if I could have them and she was more than willing to give them to me. I knew that I could re-purpose them in my crafts. She was thrilled to see them show up here!
Needless to say, I had a lot of fun putting this together! I am a little late for the challenge that MFT put out, but I am glad that I was inspired! Thanks for fluttering by!
P.S. My blog candy will close at 12:oo a.m MST on Thanksgiving. Feel free to leave comments until then. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your comments.
This is unbelievably adorable! Love you the tiniest details you have used! Always enjoy seeing your creations! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do it, but your banners are always just gorgeous. This one is no exception. And I love that you incorporated words from "My Favorite Things". The Sound of Music is also one of my favorite musicals. When we were in grammer school, my younger sister and I had parts in the Sound of Music put on by the school. It was just so much fun. I think we drove our mother nuts singing the songs all over the house - LOL!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Always amazing...your banners are one of "some of MY favorite things"!!!
ReplyDeleteHow cute. I have seen your past banners but this one tops them. Well, maybe not...maybe they are all great! Love this one though with all the little decorations. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou are the banner making Queen :) Simply fabulous yet again. Have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteanother superb banner. I've just finished my Halloween banner and started the Christmas one and the only Christmassy papers I had were the same ones you have used here.

I only recently joined your followers, so I haven't seen your past banners, but this is a doozy! I love it. Do you leave these banners up all year long? I noticed that you matched these papers to your office curtains, so I suspect that you do leave them up. What fun!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous banner...so many details that just make it shine! I always love your banners and really need to break down and make one myself. Quick question...what is the scripty font you used at the top of the banner pieces? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly, I haven't visited your blog for a while since you decided to take your break from SFYTT a while back and I was so pleased to see you're back to creating and posting on your blog!! I cruised through the last several posts and just love what you've been up to lately (both the banner for your Mom and this winter one are so very lovely!). I am so glad you are again feeling inspired and appreciate all the lovely creations you share! The picture of your kids was so cute too...they grow so fast, don't they? Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
