I wrapped the gift in some Classic Pooh paper, so I decided to make her a "Honey the Pooh" (as my daughter calls him) card. Each time I correct her and tell her that it is Winnie the Pooh, it makes me sad to know that one day she won't call him "Honey the Pooh" anymore, so maybe I should just stop. She used to call "Cinderella", just La-La, then it graduated to Cinder La-La, and now it is just plain old "Cinderella". I still call her Cinder La-La just for fun and she corrects me and says, "NO, Mom, it's Cinderella!". Okay...back to the card.
I have had some rolls of stickers that I bought years ago on clearance at a local scrapbook store in my garage in a box. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to use one. Maybe I shouldn't have let the cat out of the bag and you could go on believing that I can color that nicely! LOL! There is actually some stamping on this card. I stamped the scripted circle background at the top and the sentiment on the side and bottom. I added a few buttons, ribbon and cuttlebugged the background. I rubbed all of the edges using a Basic Brown inkpad for definition and detail.
This card actually was the start of this week's sketch challenge on SCS, but took a different turn.
My son started football again this year, so life will officially get crazy. I am off to start dinner so that he can be fed before practice! Thanks for fluttering by!
What a fun card. I love "Winnie the Pooh" and even Honey the Pooh (how cute) and this card is just adorable and so very sweet. I'm sure your friend will love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet card! It's darling, and I love the Cinder-la-la comment! How cute!
ReplyDeleteSoo sweet!
ReplyDeleteI love the moments with our kids like that. :)
OMGosh, this is just too cute!!
ReplyDeletewhat a gorgeous card, hugs rachxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! One to be treasured, for sure! It will make the baby book! ; ) "Honey the pooh" is too cute-my brother used to say "all my byself" instead of "all by myself"--yep, treasure those things-they hit the teen years before you know it!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Sharon
VERY sweet, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteLove the use of the sticker...sometimes it's nice to use other mediums on cards and doesn't at all take away from the uniqueness of your lovely design...great use of those buttons!!
ReplyDeleteIt may be a sticker, but I KNOW you can color that nicely!
ReplyDeleteOh my! How adorable is this! Those buttons are just perfect!!
ReplyDeleteLove the card. I like the more vintage looking Pooh bear like the one on your card. My son used to call M&M's ba beans. He is ten now and sometimes I still ask him if he wants ba beans and he just smiles.
ReplyDeleteI really hope you read these comments. I love Winnie the Pooh. Is that a stamp? I have to have it!! Rebeccacell@gmail.com thanks!!
ReplyDeleteYou shouldn't have said anything! My first reaction was "wow, that girl can color"!!! This is so lovely!
ReplyDeleteThis is darling, Kelly. Beautiful baby card. Love to mix stickers with krafty cardstock. It always looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThis is just precious! Love the embossed background and the kraft really makes that adorable image pop and yes, we know that you can color that well but I'm glad you can use gems from your stash too.
