Of course this week's sketch is amazing. I was thrilled that the sketch called for a sideways oval because I was in the mood to use my oval Nestabilities. There is something so classy about the embossed edge paired with a hint of a scalloped edge; and of course I had to age the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink. This card came together so effortlessly and was a pure joy to create. I think a lot of it has to do with the great sketches that Jen comes up with each week! This entire design came about because of this scrumptious ribbon I found in the dollar bin at Michael's tonight. I needed to go there to replace my poor cutting blade on my paper trimmer. It was shot as I am sure you all have noticed for the last month with all of my feathered edges. So unclassy! I can't believe I let it go so long! Anyway...I picked up more than just a cutting blade; some ribbon, embellishment jars, and a super sweet baby box to hold the baby gift I need to get delivered.
I stamped the image using Palette Noir ink and then colored the image using re-inkers and a blender pen. I really like this method of coloring, especially if I'm not using Watercolor paper. I did add a little glitter to the image once I was finished.I love pulling out an old set like "Garden Collage" because I haven't used it in so long, it feels new again! I think the late night stamping is making me ramble so I will go, but before I do, I just need to give a shout out to the other SFYTT gals Jen and Jody Amy ,Carole Susan and Amy . They always blow me away with their creations so you will want to make a stop at each of their blogs! Thanks for fluttering by!
